I just bought the Pro 7i, 32g memory, 4080, 1tb drive, at about 30% off on a black Friday sale. I looked for all the reviews I could find, and was wondering if I should wait for the AMD version. I'm glad I grabbed the 7i. It's replacing my Alienware M17R4 3070, that I bought after watching your review of it. It's been a great machine with absolutely no problems. I wasn't sure about going to the smaller screen, but so far, so good. Very happy with the display. I do hate to part with the M17R4 though.
@@shitmir First thing, I love my Alienware M17R4. It's been a great laptop with no problems. But, I'd been looking at the new laptops with the 13 gen CPUs and new Nvidia 4080 GPU's. A black Friday $850 off, on a loaded Pro 7i (32 gigs, 4080cpu) was too good to pass up. I'm now, sadly, getting my M17R4 ready for sale.
@@scottb5178 oh, alright.. yeah, good deals are hard to pass by... I am curious to hear your comparison between these two laptops in terms of noise and temps in lower and higher loads situations, like browsing Internet or movie streaming, vs 25 min or so of gaming.. they both have good cooling system, but one IS newer and more up to date..
@@shitmir I have to stop watching Mash It reviews.I got the Alienware after watching his review on the m17r4, now I bought the Pro 7i after watching his 7i / 9i comparison on Black Friday. I hate to say it, but I don't notice a lot of difference in the 2 while gaming. I'm using higher settings and getting much better frame rates, with a much nicer display, but I don't really notice it in the heat of battle. The 7i fans are a little louder, I think, but I use a IETS cooler that tends to be louder than the laptops fans. Temps stay good, in the 60 - 75 range on both. For everything other than gaming, I've been running it in Quiet mode with little if any fan noise. Even balanced mode isn't bad, but it can get louder than the m17r4 while gaming.
@@scottb5178 wow, that is quite an insight.. at this, one probably needs a 5 year gap between devices at this point to actually notice a remarkable and significant performance difference. Most likely, a very important difference that benefits this Legion is newer gen internals, cooling and longer support from this point.. In the Uk the price gap between m17r5 snd LP7 is about 600-700 pounds.. and I have to justify it to myself, eapecially because one can hardly notice that difference paying out in practice.. I am not a gamer (only on an ocassional weekend night off and older titles like Crysis 2/3, Just cause 3/4)), but need to appreciate my machine and be happy about it. Lenovo G770 with i5-2410m and 2GB Radeon HD 6650m has done that for the last 12 years🤣.. I think I “just” might notice some performance and efficiency advantage on 10 generation newer chips💁😀… But definitely, you are set for good 3 years, or until good and stable 3nm CPUs and GPUs show up.😃👍 until I get my new lappy, I live vicariously through you!
Lenovo's wave of mega silent firings in early 2023 were absolutely despicable. They laid of thousands of really great people after posting record profits and bragging about moving up the Forbes list each quarter in their "All Hands" NA org sales meetings to those people that moved the needle for them. They ruined thousands of people's lives, especially those that relocated and even bought new homes during the peak of covid when Lenovo asked for their dedication to support and grow the business. Their warranty process is atrocious and considered terrible by anyone who has had to deal with service claims on top of this.
In the latest BIOS Update for the legion 7 amd there is a new cpu overclocking setting in "advance". This should allow us to make similar changes and undervolts like the intel model!
Great comparison and thanks for bringing this to us. Looks like that the Ryzen HX series Processors are not properly tuned in Lenovo Legion 7 Laptop, probably due to the fact they have been launched this year for the 1st time whereas Intel's HX series processors were launched last year and laptop vendors have had enough time to tune it. From the benchmarks you've shown, looks like the Ryzen processor is running at unnecessary higher clockspeed, irrespective of the actual workload. may be using 3rd party tools like like AMD APU tuning Utility to restrict the total CPU power during gaming can yield some better performance and battery life. I think this is due to the case that unlike normal Ryzen Mobile processors (Last gen H and this zen HS series) which use monolithic design, HX series uses Dual Chiplet based design just like the Desktop Counterparts and needs different degree of tuning for optimizing the Power curve.
yeah I need to spend some time trying to get these chips working with a software tool, I couldn't get them working with APU tuning maybe because they are still pretty new
You got one of the best battery life results on the 7945HX. I am actually shocked. Remember 7x45HX series is basically desktop Ryzen 7000 which is not monolithic. It's based on chiplets and has a separate IOD, which increase idle power draw. The intel on the other hand is monolithic but it's battery life is not much better. Compare this to AMD's monolithic chips like all past Ryzen chips including this years Pheonix range 7x40HS and the difference is night and day.
Hi there. I've just watched your review and want to say thanks since I am thinking about buying one of those laptops and your review has made me enlightened. However, due to $600 price difference at where I reside, I have doubts to go with i9. My priority is content creation, photo & video editing, etc. instead of gaming. Do you think I would experience trouble with 7945hx? And have you found a way to manipulate watt & temperature of 7945HX manually?
The Legion Pro 7 can be undervolted from the BIOS using the all core curve optimizer setting or you can undervolt using AATU, also using the all core curve optimizer setting. I saw the BIOS way exists in the 7 Pro 7745HX model.
This is false information. There is no such setting in AMD version of BIOS. AATU tool is now continued as UXTU, which doesn't have support for Dragon Range processors yet. So perhaps you are referring to Pro 7i instead.
I actually just bought the Intel version of that laptop, but it was basically because it came at an extreme bargain. I currently own a 2021 Ryzen version, of which I am so satisfied that I guess I would go for AMD again, if they only had an offer at the same price. I honestly don't know why I picked up this version now, since it isn't that much better than my current R9 5900HX/RTX3080 16GB. I just felt that the price was so attractive and with 4 years of Premium Care and Accidental damage protection, it will last for that long, and I also get the feeling that price performance ratios will only get worse from now on, and this was the time to strike. Kind of a gut feeling. The Legion 9 is just a sham, and a lousy attempt at market segmentation. For somewhere between double and three times the price, you get very little extra. It's just for people who want to show off, and in that case, why not go for MSI, Asus, Razer or Alienware (MacBook?). Lenovo should fire their marketing department, or maybe I am way off and there are loads of people with loads of money who wants a Lenovo Legion with a fancy metal chassis and Windows Hello. The only negative thing I can say about a Legion 7, is that it doesn't come in a 17" or 18" version. Well, that and that they stripped off some cost-neutral features to make room for the Legion 9. And I must admit that it feels quite stupid to lose 4GB of VRAM which is an obvious bottleneck to come on triple-A titles. That is not Lenovos fault, but why the hell does Nvidia strip down the VRAM between 3080 (Ti) to 4080. It's not exactly where the major cost lies. Oh, how we would need more manufacturers to implement the 7900M to get some competition in the laptop gaming market. I know the 7900M came too late, just as the RX6850M XT did, but hell would we need a range of prime gaming laptops with that combination that could compete with the same performance and the lower price of those components. A full AMD Lenovo Legion 7 and others would really have stirred the market to the benefit of all customers.
@@devanshanil2468 This is in Denmark, so mind that the prices are much higher than in the US, but basically $2700 including 4 years of Premium Care support.
@@devanshanil2468 I am still trying to figure out how to undervolt it to the best, but out-of-the-box, the temps aren't bad. You feel it when you have it on your "lap", but no other issues really. Don't expect to game more than to hours on battery, though, but I never did. I just like the power and portability.
if they were they same price I would pick the intel for slightly better gaming performance and intel quick sync as I would use it for work as well as games
Hello, was any noticeable difference in low workload/usage scenarios in terms of noise, fans and temperatures? Theoretically this should be area where more effective Ryzen should shine against Intel. Theoretically....
you would think so but unfortunately not a lot of difference. Even though the Ryzen uses less power it gets hot (probably because it is a smaller die) and the fans come on when installing apps, windows update etc. ITs not loud or bothersome though
Hello, thank you for your videos, since you give an exact and detailed explanation, although I see them with subtitles since I am Cuban and I don't understand English, could you make a video explaining how to make an undervolt for the Legion 7i pro with the i9- 13900HX, I have it with the 4070 version and I added 64GB of ram at 5600MHz but it reads them at 5200MHz, I would like to do an undervol to lower the i9 temperatures a little, which are vastly high for my taste, thank you and have a good day.
It´s very weird that are no Advanced Optmus available in the Ryzen version... my Slim 5, a entry line model, has it ! About the perfomance, you can manage the power draws CPU/GPU in the Perfomance Custom Profile in the Lenovo Vantage software.
No thoughts on the keyboard? I've seen a few videos where WASD flex like crazy. That's a really bad dealbreaker for me, if the laptops I've seen on reddit aren't just defective and could be fixed.
I have a chance to get the AMD version with a 4090 32gb and 1tb SSD (I planned on slapping a 4tb in the empty slot) for a little under $2000 USD. I’m debating though as I have no experience with AMD. Is this a good deal? I’m still relatively new to the pc space. This would be replacing my 5i pro 3070ti, which I love and will have a happy home with my gf. Are there any particular reasons I may want to avoid this? I plan on using it for mostly gaming and music, the latter of which my current setup eats alive lol. Thank you for any insight
Where are you seeing this deal, lenovo in the US only has it for about 2299 with coupons? Also a 4090 in a laptop like this for under 2000 seems pretty good compared to some of the 4080's around the same price.
@@MashITTech That would be awesome! I'm always curious what fps you'd get on quiet mode because I'm curious if quiet mode is the same performance of a RTX 2060 desktop
Hi! I have found legion pro 7 with intel cpu 🤔 so what's the difference? Like The Legion Pro 7 16IRX8H? I'm bout to Buy one and i can't find a Review of that one! Does anybody knows?
Did the Ryzen version have worse 1% lows than the intel while gaming? In the video it seemed like there was some stuttering during gameplay only on the Ryzen
Type-C Ports: On the Intel-variant only the left one is Thunderbolt 4 (40Gbps), the one at the back is only USB 3.2 Gen 2 (10Gbps). On the AMD-variant, both are USB 3.2 Gen 2 (10Gbps). Type-A Ports: They are all USB 3.2 Gen 1 (5Gbps). In short, I believe there are no USB 4 on either model. But do double-check and let me know if I'm wrong.
I got a bf deal on AMD, with a view to selling Intel version, however I’m keeping Intel I could not not find a game AMD pulled ahead. Also the Samsung memory was 5600 in AMD despite advertised as 5200. I thought given AMD needed lower wattage then intel it would allow more power to the gpu but it didn’t work out that why. But I agree go for whichever is cheaper. 2024 might be a slow news year for laptops unless there a nvidia super refresh of gpus ..
So hold on, yours came with 5600mhz memory working at 5600mhz? Mine was 5200mhz! Although the cpu is more efficient clock for click with intel it just boosts the Ryzen cpu to over 5ghz for no benefit leading to less watts available to the gpu! I am sure this is something they could easily change either a bios update but who knows of that would happen
So if you had a choice between a Legion 5 Pro with the Ryzen 7 7745HX & RTX 4070 or the Intel 9 13900HX & RTX 4060 with the former $100 more than the latter which would you choose? BTW, both have 32 GB Ram with the former at 5200 MHz and the latter at 5600MHz.
When you did the battery test, what mode did you put the two laptops on? Because from the video it seems like the Intel is on quiet mode while the AMD is on balanced mode, wonder if that makes a diff.

this is the pro 7i which can go up to 4090, the ordinary 7i is limited to 4070, Lenovo really need to simplify their naming scheme (last year the ordinary 7i was called slim which made more sense)
I want to ask something My legion slim 7i lid doesn't close properly to the deck the hinge is tight or dobt know will it give prblm to svreen? 2022 model
Hey just curious mine benches pretty well 20k on timespy 4090 but I sometimes get lag on the windows ui animations even when plugged in and just wondering if this is normal the latencymon results are also terrible on this laptop at the moment so hopefully they can fix this as I believe it's causing microstutter/ uneven frametimes. 13900hx cpu latest nvidia driver
It's some issue with dgpu mode. There's massive DPC latency spikes which causes constant microstutter every few seconds. hybrid is alot better but yeah anything that runs at 60 fps the rog ally runs it better cuz the dpc latency is far lower. I averaged about 6ms on the ally vs 60 on the laptop. This is after reinstalling windows multiple times. I thought drivers were getting corrupted or something so hopefully they can fix this issue. Also do you have the power mode set to best performance in Windows? It's in the System | battery settings
well the new slim only goes unto a 4070 so this can do a 4080 or 4090. the slim model is more premium though so if you dont need the most powerful GPUs its worth considering
Thank you mate. I have always been a big fan of Alienware but this year it feels they have lost their way a bit! I don't understand why we didn't see an X18!!
Thx for the comparison. I chose Ryzen version as it eas 600€ cheaper. Is there a risk that the hotter running Ryzen CPU leads to a tjermal throttling of the GPU, especially if you have a 4090 installed? Or is the heat from the CPU kept away from the GPU? And is the Ryzen still limited to PCIE 3.0? I read this in reviews but in the PSREF it says PCIE 4.0.
wow at 600 difference that's a no brainer. There will be no throttling at all from my experience. At worst you may get a few less watts to the GPU as its giving it to the CPU but I am trying to find software to manipulate the CPU manually and Legion may improve this in a future BIOS too (and its not bad at all but just a little less than the intel version)
@@MashITTech AATU was the other program. It has to be in manual mode I think. Granted it doesn't yield that crazy results, Intel is better with undervolting. The software caps at -30, mine is only fully stable at -20 (although there's the single core curve optimizer when someone has the time to teast for each)

I got the ryzen 4090 version delivered today. I'm glad I went with amd. Intel are lazy sods that have been releasing pretty much the same chip year after year ripping us off. I'm glad amd gave them the kick up the ass they needed. The ryzen chip is beast, a desktop cpu. Got a bargain on it too. For UK prices.
Glad I watched this before I bought the Legion AMD. The AMD CPU is clearly better at lower wattage, and should utilize the GPU much better and have better battery life. That's just terrible tuning by Lenovo. No ability to tune the AMD CPU? Shocker. So, lets add it up. Lack of stock tuning, lack of tuning capability, worse battery life, and lastly a lack of auto MUX switch... just unacceptable. These are all easily fixable things. I keep wondering when the clearly superior AMD silicon will get all the bells and whistles that Intel enjoys. That's all I'm looking for. I'll cross it off my list for now. Boo.
I wonder if there's a way to get it to stay at a more efficient clock speed like Intel does or does it always run at 5 Ghz? I will say that the battery life as an inherent disadvantage of Ryzen's dual CCD approach on 12+ cores CPU, so it's not "clearly superior" in every way. Intel's monolithic die results in lower idle power consumption, and you can see this on desktops as well as laptops.
@@nocommentarygaming2644 The same way the 8 core variants have better or at worst on par battery life over the intel counterparts - 1 active CCD. There is clearly a way for windows to utilize only one CCD until needed. It also may be possible to simply turn one of the CCD's off until you need to use it. If tuned correctly, it is superior in every way. There's no reason why watching youtube videos would need to have both CCD's up and active. That said, outside of idle scenarios where the AMD chip use IO dies, AMD is superior... in every way. You also aren't buying these specific AMD chips for battery life, if you wanted that you'd buy the 8 core APU variants that kick the snot out of intel on that front.
@@Blade332 But what if I want high performance and somewhat usable battery life? I can get 8 hours of mostly idle usage on my i9-13900HX laptop but no matter what you do with a 7945HX, you won't get more than 5 (I've never seen a review get higher than 4.5 on idle). So there is certainly a reason for Intel, although it's obviously pretty niche. But yes, AMD is more power efficient because of its superior node, but that will all change with Arrow Lake which is on TSMC 3 nm. Also if there is no sort of Speedshift with Ryzen HX that allows the CPU to downclock to lower frequencies when allowed, that's a major advantage for Intel. Intel is less power efficient but in some scenarios will more efficiently downclock (at least based on what I'm seeing in this video), allowing more power for the GPU.
@@nocommentarygaming2644 I'm gonna need some source(s) on that, as I haven't seen very many tests where that chip got over 5 hours, much less 8. That said if you're doing any sort of work the pendulum once again swings into AMD's favor - chiplet design or not. If you want high performance and usable battery life you still buy an 8 core AMD APU lol. If you want battery life and decent to good performance you *seemingly* buy snapdragon. If you want performance above all, it's AMD again. If you plan on turning your laptop on and not doing anything on it, sure, intel wins there for battery life against AMD's HX line. Also, claiming it's simply a node advantage is pretty disingenuous. Intel uses literally 2x+ the power as Ryzen on desktop depending on workload. That's gonna take more than a node to catch up with. I'm not sure we know if TSMC or Intel is fabbing arrow lake yet do we?
After launched of Windows 11, I was just never too much overthinking about Processor. Both of them are great in their own, I mean has their own characteristics
Correct me if I'm wrong. So for the Intel-variant you can tell there is advanced optimus because in the Nvidia control panel there is a "Manage Display Mode" menu, but that menu is missing in the AMD-variant?
I just got the amd version but i'm worried that it drains too much power with increased temperatures. Did you find any tool for fine tuning the amd processor?
That's a good question, and you really don't have to. I just like to show people what the laptop is capable of as I get asked so frequently. If you don't need masses of storage and don't want the hassle, you could just leave the original 1tb in place and just add a second drive

Had a Razer Blade with a similar Intel processor that ended up failing just out of warranty. Intel may have had better performance in this test, but with the high failure rate in the 13th gen chips, it doesn't make sense unless you want to replace your laptop within a year.
I was always a fan of MSI and Intel, the only reason I'm watching this is because Lenovo provides AMD solutions, who wants to replace a $3000 laptop every year?
Some people are a little bit dopey about this subject. Plastic is an insulator, and metal, especially aluminum, is a conductor, which means it'll fry your hands, as the keyboard deck becomes part of the heat dissipation system. You want plastic for the keyboard deck so it doesn't conduct heat.
Are you sure the AMD is as good or slightly better in single thread cpu heavy games like Overwatch/ old fps/openworld mmos from 2009 at low resolution1080p (or even 720p) 360hz monitor? Which would you recommend to me?
yes, the new ryzen chips are clock for clock comparable to intel in most titles and run far faster as they are more efficient which is why you see over 5ghz regularly but the intel is often 2-3ghz due to power throttling.
Thank you very much for the comparison! Can i confirm if the keyboard surface is the same temperature for both Ryzen and intel as the ryzen runs hotter? Also does the Ryzen cpu run at full power when doing less demanding tasks which would mean more fan noise and heat vs the intel counterpart when doing less intensive tasks? Thanks again!
Great review! Although I am still leaning towards the efficiency of Ryzen versus Intel, but they are very even, both in cores and in raw power. I have a question, is it possible to use the 2023 version charging block on the 2022 Lenovo Legion 7i? To consider having a powerful block and being able to transport it with less weight.
The x16 is more premium and has better speakers but at least in the UK, the Legion 7 is so much cheaper, has a much brighter screen and much better CPU performance so I would take the legion 7
for productivity I would probably get the intel mostly for the intel on board gfx and intel quick sync. That is unless the Ryzen version is a LOT cheaper in your region
I have also the problem with the legion 5 pro (R9000P 7945hx), the cpu always over 5 ghz makes the laptop always hot, althought i don't do any thing is hard just searching web and watching youtube
even in quiet mode? I will see if I can find some software to scale the CPU back when I get time as it can be a bit annoying having max power all the time
Is the 240hz screen in the 7/7i exactly the same 240hz screen in the Pro 5 and 5i? In these reviews, the brightness (500 nits) and color gamut (around 70-75% Adobe RGB) seems to be the same. At the same time, the Slim 7's 240hz screen seems to be a different one which comes in with a bit higher color accuracy/range but slightly lower brightness at around 480 nits.
They are all potentially the same but you have to win the panel lottery as with a lot of these big manufacturers, they usually use 2 to 3 different panel makers per laptop, I have had a boe and csot panel so far but both got over 500 nits and had similar colour gamut
The only thing that got to me switching from an oldschool business style home computer to a "gaming" one was the fact they literally won't sell you one without it. Less runtime from battery, lower fps in games, no thunderbolt, video editing apps perform worse on it, so how exactly was it better? I mean, of course it is a beast of a laptop, but the comparison just shows that it is inferior to the Intel version. I was under the impression that ryzen would be better, this video proved me wrong.
Depends on use case. The numbers here definitely point to Intel taking the lead, which isn't a surprise when it comes to gaming. I ordered the Ryzen 9 version with the RTX 4090 today. Curious to see how the benchmarks look after I remove windows 11 and put a Linux distro on it. I was able to revive a 2017 Origin Eon-17 SLX laptop with an i7 and 2x gtx 1080s by running a very minimal gnome desktop environment on Arch Linux. 👍
Personaly for me most important in modern gaming laptops is heat contror. I've already lost one due to extreme heat issues and Intel in this regard proves to be in a favour
yes some of their yoga range are very much like that. I have a couple of Yoga 14" laptops I will be reviewing soon, they are currently still in the studio being tested

I think I “just” might notice some performance and efficiency advantage on 10 generation newer chips💁😀…

A comparison that I didn't know I needed.

This should allow us to make similar changes and undervolts like the intel model!
would this keep the temp down on the ryzen version with 4080?

Fantastic review. You saved me a lot of money since they're running a special on the Intel version right now. Subbed.
Oh amazing news, I didn’t think to look in BIOS for undervolting. Did you try it?
This is false information. There is no such setting in AMD version of BIOS. AATU tool is now continued as UXTU, which doesn't have support for Dragon Range processors yet. So perhaps you are referring to Pro 7i instead.
ty. i'd love to see the Ryzen with boost disabled. it's always best to disable it in gaming laptops unless you need pure CPU

I'm confused... what gonna be better for gaming? Intel or Ryzen?
The ryzen due to the higher clock speed but for work related tasks probably the intel

I think you are right and I got it completely wrong in the video, sorry
It was running at 5200 however the chips were 2 x 16 Samsung 5600 mhz
ah yes, mine were too, I thought you meant it was also showing up as 5600mhz! :)
Amd run super hot i don't recemond it hot equal new fans lot of noise
So if you had a choice between a Legion 5 Pro with the Ryzen 7 7745HX & RTX 4070 or the Intel 9 13900HX & RTX 4060 with the former $100 more than the latter which would you choose? BTW, both have 32 GB Ram with the former at 5200 MHz and the latter at 5600MHz.
When you did the battery test, what mode did you put the two laptops on? Because from the video it seems like the Intel is on quiet mode while the AMD is on balanced mode, wonder if that makes a diff.
In the actual test both were set exactly the same so on quiet mode, windows best efficiency, 200 nits and screen set to 60hz

Add me on Instagram and we can look together, I am not getting any lag in windows. I haven’t checked latency Mon but o can if it helps
It's in the System | battery settings

yes very similar, check out my legion pro 5 or 5i video, I put a link in the description
how do these stack against the 2024 refresh 7i "slim" ?
well the new slim only goes unto a 4070 so this can do a 4080 or 4090. the slim model is more premium though so if you dont need the most powerful GPUs its worth considering
Hey i love your work you very good at what you do guess dell is behind now!

I didn't Finish to watch the video but for what i know how AMD CPU Rocks in gaming.... Specially the X3D's. The choice is too obvious for me!...

Because thats all i play and i can get the AMD version for $237 cheaper, its on sale for next 24 hours for just $1962 7945hx/4080/32gb/ 2x 1tb ssds vs Intel 13900hx/4080/ 32gb/ 1tb ssd for $2099 (but i require a second ssd for shadowplay game play recordings so i'd have to buy and add another $100 for $2199 total). Which would you recommend to me?
yes, the new ryzen chips are clock for clock comparable to intel in most titles and run far faster as they are more efficient which is why you see over 5ghz regularly but the intel is often 2-3ghz due to power throttling.
please let me know if the amd version is good as the intel version, and the difference, temperature, ramm ecc.ecc thanks a lot
Have you seen the video, lazy bee?
Thank you very much for the comparison! Can i confirm if the keyboard surface is the same temperature for both Ryzen and intel as the ryzen runs hotter? Also does the Ryzen cpu run at full power when doing less demanding tasks which would mean more fan noise and heat vs the intel counterpart when doing less intensive tasks?
Thanks again!
I can confirm that both my units had very similar deck and keyboard temps and both were cool for long gaming sessions (2+ hours of BF and COD)
Yes they are completely interchangeable. I use both on both years and even legion 5 pro
You are comparing mid range intel cpu to top end cpu you should compare 13950hx
they were only compared due to the similar price, the 13950hx was hundreds more so not fair to AMD
Love your videos! Would you rather take the Legion pro 7 or the Alienware x16???
The x16 is more premium and has better speakers but at least in the UK, the Legion 7 is so much cheaper, has a much brighter screen and much better CPU performance so I would take the legion 7
Just got my 7i w/ 4090.
I love it.
I am looking to get one for productivity and for having it on for most of the day. Which version would you recommend?
for productivity I would probably get the intel mostly for the intel on board gfx and intel quick sync.
I will see if I can find some software to scale the CPU back when I get time as it can be a bit annoying having max power all the time
@@MashITTech With the quite mode the cpu will go between 3 to 4.5ghz. But actually, i always set it at balance mode in legion toolkit.
@@MashITTech I see. Thank you.
The intel version looks like it was built for me lol The adults version of a gaming laptop. it looks pro
im so oldschool about the usb ports id have to go bluetooth for a mouse. haha
and all the active gsync on the intel. Sold.
Yeah, I love the look of the laptop and the rgb is very easy to turn off or adjust
The only thing that got to me switching from an oldschool business style home computer to a "gaming" one was the fact they literally won't sell you one without it. I was aware you could get a super precise mouse or whatever but it was always like parking lights flashing only. lol. I guess the no lights camo stuffs just for the feds. lol @@MashITTech
amd is the best

Obviously
Personaly for me most important in modern gaming laptops is heat contror. I've already lost one due to extreme heat issues and Intel in this regard proves to be in a favour
WHAT A PRO, GREAT REVIEW, SUBBED. Do you think this lappy would run Microsft simulator on VR?
Great review! Does lenovo have any "macbook" looking laptops? Kinda like an ultrabook
yes some of their yoga range are very much like that. I have a couple of Yoga 14" laptops I will be reviewing soon, they are currently still in the studio being tested
@@MashITTech looking forward! Subbed
Hey Mash, Is it worth going for the 4090 over the 4080?
for most people no, the price difference isn't worth it. The only reason it makes sense is if you use it for heavy editing/rendering/3d work and need that extra vram
@@MashITTech my primary use would be for gaming so do you think that extra fps from the GTX 4090 is worth the extra money in the long term considering the use of the laptop might stretch for at least more than 5 years?
You can use Amd Tuning Utility to boost your CPU performance on amd laptops. There's also a silent mode which lets the CPU run on only 1-2 watts for good battery life.
How did you get amd tuning utility running on this laptop? It wouldn’t work for me?
@@MashITTech Version 1.1.0 b5
I will give it a try
@@MashITTech Any luck with this mash? I really want to buy a legion right now, but i also want to see how the amd chip runs after some undervolting before i pick one.
dpc-latency?
Absolute crap
@@nocommentarygaming2644 even on the ryzen?
Ordered the Intel 4080 variant last week and waiting for it :)
Hope you enjoy it!
Thank you! Have you noticed the flex around WASD keys? I've heard about it in many channels@@MashITTech
there is some flex on the keyboard but I doubt you will notice it if you don't go actively looking for it. Of course if you press down hard its going to flex but in my gaming use I never noticed anything
Thanks for your answer. And also another question, have you experienced micro stutters while gaming? This seems to be an issue for some users.@@MashITTech
I have the AMD version on order. Est. shipping date 29/12/23
