The snorkeling there seems incredible. I've always been a little afraid to go snorkeling because I have an irrational fear of sharks and other underwater creatures 🤣 but this looks like an incredible experience and the water is so clear! My favourite snorkeling adventure was in St Lucia.

At least you tried it before. I used to be scared of fish too, but I think I'm over that fear for sure now. Now, I'm fascinated by them!

@@LucasWorldTravel Near equator the sea is warm all year around you dont need to wear wet suit to protect the cold and most of the dangerous shark are inhabited in the cold water zone you may heard the incident in the US or Australia but not in Thailand like even it million of million tourist here. its very very rare that shark attack people here cause of most of the warm are calm but it can happen in the muddy water when they can't see and it not where people swim in the first place so they may bit but no one ever die by the shark in Thailand. the most common one and most dangerous on of all in this region is poison jelly fish but they are normally out in monsoon season that the sea is rough and boat should stay shore It's very safe even the kid can enjoy this activity in Thailand.

Same here! My fear of snorkeling or swimming in open water has governed my life for 50 years.... until I went to Thailand and visited the islands out there!! There are so many areas where the water is very shallow, crystal clear and full of fish. I gave it a go and was immediately addicted!! So much so that I went on a second trip of the islands to have another go. The following year I did the same🤣🤣. We ended up getting so carried away that we heard a strange noise, turned round and realised we were closer to another island than the one we were supposed to be on and they were shouting and whistling us back😬. I know it's going to seem pathetic to some people but, to me, it was a MASSIVE thing to overcome this phobia. Now I'm even watching diving videos on UA-cam all the time, especially shark ones, because I've always felt blind panic even just WATCHING things like that before. PLEASE, if ever you get the opportunity to do it, just try it. DON'T go with anyone that's going to force you or make you feel like a let down if you can't manage it. Even if you just sit in the water where you feel safe and put some goggles on and have a little look under water... even that's enough to see something cool! I hope you get to try it one day💜💜💜

Another lovely tour! I’ve never seen Nemo outside of a fish tank, so cool that you saw them on your snorkel!
I absolutely love the village that you visited, very sad that their original village got destroyed, but how great that no one lost their lives in the tsunami.
Well done to David for his first dive 👏💪
    Almost on 1K guys 🥳

You found Nemo! That's some beautiful, healthy coral and bright, colorful fish! I can't believe you saw that purple starfish. I have been snorkeling before but I have never seen this many fish. David, great job on your first dive! That's amazing that the elders on Morgan Village got everyone to safety during the tsunami. I remember news of that happening and how devastating it was. It's great to see the village rebuilt and thriving.

We really enjoy visiting local villages like that to be able to support the communities. They need it now more than ever for sure. Those coral reefs were so beautiful and the fish so colorful wow. I can get down there a bit but Steve not so much, very nice of your guide, but even cooler David went for it!

Looks so beautiful; we've done snorkeling in St. johns island in USVI and on Oahu in hawaii, both were beautiful but st john's was probably better. We were hoping to actually get scuba certification when in Thailand last year because we heard it was a beautiful place to snorkel and dive but unfortunately...2020... hopefully we'll get to experience the beautiful corals and fish there one day. Thanks for sharing!

That snorkelling did look gorgeous! I (Kirsty) got bitten by one of those black and yellow striped fish in Cayo Arena in Dominican Republic... did have food in my hand though! 😂 I always love how delicate and tiny Clown fish are when you see them up close in the sea 😍Great duck dive David! 👏was it $82 for the both of you or each?

Wow, I wish all the world's coral looked as healthy as that! That looks like it was amazing snorkeling! So fun you even saw Nemo there! Morgan Village looked beautiful too. That was a cool story how they were able to detect the tsunami before it hit and saved thousands of lives!

Morgan village looks so unique especially when the elders saw the signs of the big wave, something so special about this village.
Wow the coral is absolutely beautiful, we've never seen such beautiful coral before. Drive site number 2 was super unreal especially when you found little Nemo 😍 well done David on your
First dive, it looks so impressive and it must be so freeing to do it.

Why did you select the Surin Islands over Phi Phi? Have you been to Phi Phi? I've not been to either, but have been snorkeling in Koh Samui. One of the best experiences of my life!!

    • @LucasWorldTravel
      @LucasWorldTravel  Рік тому

Yes, we went to Phi Phi when we lived in Krabi so Surin was our next adventure. Phi Phi Island is prettier, but the snorkeling is much better on the Surin Islands.

@@LucasWorldTravel Do it! It's the best way to see cool stuff, meet fun people, and look cool while doing it 😅 And if you are in Thailand then yes, Similan wins. Although Koh Lipe does have the most amazing coral gardens and the bonus of being ridiculously cheap (2800 pp for two dives getting down to 2000 after a few dives). Stonehenge is our favorite dive spot here (still on Lipe after 2 weeks. Loving it!)
