Great bit of writing! I thoroughly enjoy Burchfield's playing - with or without the Scoundrels.

This honestly may be the coolest music video I have seen, and by my favorite artist. It is criminal how this only has a little over a hundred views right now. This should be everywhere. Keep up the great work man!

Beautiful song, masterful writing. My best transcription of the lyrics:
    Well I have a dream
    Of growing old
    Raising a child
    Building a home
    We would go fishing
    Along the coast
    But I got no time
    And I got no boat
    So maybe I'll die
    As a pauper
    No possession
    No silver or copper
    Just you and me
    And the dust of apocalypse
    Together we’ll lay
In the sands of old cities
    I hope we have Christmas
    And a couple more dogs
    A big piano
    And a green, green lawn
I hope we have Georgia land
And Micky Rend ****THE ONLY LYRIC I'M NOT SURE ABOUT***
And a couple good neighborhood friends
    But maybe we’ll die
    As paupers
    No possessions
    No sons or daughters
    Just you and me
    And the dust of apocalypse
    Together we’ll lay
In the sands of old cities
    When I run
    I’m like a ghost
    Empty as a breeze
    Quicker than most
    I run through the forest
    Underneath the pines on fire
    Past an old swingset
    And a broken rope tire
    Well I don’t know
    What time’s gonna take
    I’m not sure
    What it gives away
    But when I hold on
To you on the living room floor
I know what I’m living for
    But maybe I’ll die
    As a pauper
    No possessions
    No silver or copper
    Just you and me
    And the dust of apocalypse
    Together we’ll lay
In the sands of old cities

Great tune! A little Guthrie, a little Dylan but most importantly a lot of your own views, desires and ambitions. Would have loved some vocal harmonies in the chorus to emphasize your "ultimate" wishes, but still works great!

Woah, searched UA-cam to see if any Burchfield’s were making noise and found this treasure! Fantastic song man, and after watching a few videos you’ve certainly honed your craft. Glad to see raw talent out there, proud to call ya fam!
