@@GroveManDan the catcher could be a layer of water on top of ice that leads the cactus towards the middle where you would have an area of 4x4 or 5x5 of hoppers picking up the drops. the water would take a lot of space but could fix the dropped items issue maybe?

If you have friends they can afk in each corner of a super large farm (4x as big(?)) and that will allow the cactus to fly to the hoppers? Also having the hopper collection area not be in the center, rather a square with each edge halfway between the middle and the edge, and water going two ways, should theoretically halve the amount of time it takes from item to hopper? That would also fix the problem of collecting from chests being difficult, as the hopper/chest/hopper/chest can point inwards from corners/edges rather than outwards, and end in a closer spot Sorry if I explained poorly, if you are genuinely curious I could elaborate the ideas more?
Coop Profile Multiple accounts always keeping the cactus going fast would mean that they enter hoppers much faster or if your using the garden you have the accounts afking so that the lack of teleport pads wouldnt really matter as you could keep the whole farm loaded
Have you thought about trying to make one of these in one or two garden plots? The regrow rate is much higher, and this way it would work while you are farming normally, but I guess hoppers might be disabled there,
You could try it in the garden: build it in five plots and put the afk point in the center with water currents leading to that point (from what I read in the comments that you can't put hoppers, chests and teleport pads) maybe It would be to put compact or blue ice under the currents to increase the speed of the items (I'm not sure yet if you can place ice in the garden, if not, you could try doing a test without it)
make the farm shorter, Alot of the cactus gets destroyed higher up because it goes into other the other cactuctes. So only a small part of them actually gets collectted but all of them take up the item cap. So i would recommend to make the farm shorter in hight
nah i made 700m per day with my own farming macro, i decision make full afk farm so write script and make 27-30m per hours (farming lvl 52, max setup, NN warts hoe).

cut the farm in half vertically and put a collection system under each half
Cactus layer then catcher, cactus layer then catcher. You can also be the hopper so just place a tp pad in the middle of the catcher

It also counts dropped items in a certain timeframe not just current existing ones at one time.
