CORE does not allow you to use your own assets. It's SUPER laggy and many of the games are ripoff of Roblox games. Also, the PC requirements for core are substantially higher. Not a good look CORE.

I doubt CORE is on mobile and mobile players are more likely to buy robux or any currency since there are less ways to make it, while if there is core for example only PC players would play so that means a really big problem in playerbase and revenue. Someone leaving Roblox while having a good reputation there is absolutley stupid. Roblox has much more accessabilty than CORE. And it's silly. Even if core comes with the best Graphics, they will fail because most people can't afford good things. So that means, at least for now, big Roblox developers should stay on Roblox.
@ItzzBluee I am not sure how developers gain their money... If it counts by playerbase, it's still bad since like a lot of roblox players are on mobile and it's lost either way. Tbh, even if are doing so good on core you might gain the same as on roblox since only people that are in gaming seriously join. Most ppl on roblox just play on phones. And the controls are bad and they rage and on pc you can pass levels and stuff and doesn't motivate you to buy anything even if it has currency. I made a game on roblox it has 200k visits and every hour close to night there are 40 players. Think that at least 37 of them are on phone and tablets and like 2 on pc, 1 on console. Most pc players play a main popular game, while mobile players want to try new things and it kinda gives small developers a chance. They just have to be smart.
roblox is the more simplified version of popular game creators such as unity, ue4, ect. you can easily build whatever you want for free and upload it, along with the ability to earn some money. it also takes like no storage up whatsoever. it teaches you how to script while core just does everything for you. roblox is a pretty decent way if you wanna teach yourself what it would be like to develop a game. you dont even develop a game in core. its kinda just like a puzzle, you put a bunch of free models together until you have a laggy mess of a game. i know you did this because you saw the green paper, but i mean, come on? you did not have to lie.

The issue is that this video is sponsored. You used one developer as an example, and referenced that as multiple? At least show multiple examples. Neither is core "popular", with the top games not even reaching 3k players. I don't know if I can trust this video, you should have given good and bad sides, not just good sides, this is not an honest video. I am not trying to send hate, I am just giving criticism. I would not recommend switching to Core, since it is unstable and has not had huge growth.
Edit: The reason why the % of core is higher is due to it being way less popular. This is 100% possible to change.

Honestly, for me, this looks fake. It's pretty easy to realise that Core is just trying to get over its competition Roblox. I mean the concept is pretty much the same and you can even program in Lua, programming language that Roblox uses, so they could get Roblox devs out of Roblox into Core. Without devs there is no games and game updates and without that there is no Roblox players. The sponsoring that they are doing is just insane. I mean the guy literally made an entire video "Why are Roblox developers quitting" and the only thing in that video is he explaining how to use Core, how "cool" Core is and why is it better than Roblox. Those thousands of free assets are just a distraction. Just think about it, you think you can make a top game using free assets that everyone can use, where is fun and learning in using free assets? Hopefully you get my point.

I saw a comment (made by IggyDev) talking about how this video was biased. The negatives of Core aren't talked about in this video, and only ONE Roblox developer is seen "quitting Roblox" in this video. Since this video is clickbait-like, I looked through other recent videos, and now I'm a little worried. Recently, TheDevKing has made some clickbait videos, like this one, the one about Minecraft in Roblox, the one about deleting the chat filter, etc.
The thing that really worries me most though is that a while ago, the videos he made seemed normal, with the thumbnail looking good and the video and title being about scripting and tutorials. Then he started making thumbnails that pop out, capital and neon text, titles that don't really explain much about the video. It's really noticeable starting with the face reveal and him getting 100K subscribers. And after that, it's just videos that grab your attention. Gone are the tutorials, and in come deleting the Roblox chat filter.
Of course, I don't blame him. Considering the effort he puts into his videos now and in the past, he deserves the fame he has. But the thing that worries me is if I keep seeing people change their content once they get famous enough, will it even happen to me? If I continue making videos, and actually get some subscribers and stuff, will I also be destined to start making clickbait content?

The only positive thing I found about core is that it will make roblox a little bit afraid of losing the monopole so they will need to make more updates and maybe give more to the developers .

I understand that you're doing this for a quick buck, but, at least show multiple instances of ROBLOX developers quitting and moving on to Core with realistic proof. I, myself do not know what you can/cannot say in sponsorship videos, however, if you're trying to sway someone's opinion on a stance, please include the pros/cons of said argument. This video has only ever mentioned overwhelmingly positive stuff about Core with no cons about it. This is no opinion or valid argument on why developers are quitting. This is a video made for money and I doubt you'll touch Core after making this video. After all, it was sponsored, so we don't know your true intentions.

@@HarryDKH The thing is though, when you're a developer, you need to look at the finer details. The average player might see "lots of free models" or "50% revenue share" but what developers see is barely anyone playing the top games compared to Roblox statistics.

I came here to see why Devs are quitting Roblox, But it ended up being an 8 minute ad. All he talks about is The good things that’s happening with Core and not about Roblox Developers since he just wants the money. No disrespect to core but it’s also unoriginal. It just reminds me of a Roblox rip off. I never would’ve thought a youtuber from the Roblox community would be on the side of another game for just for money smh.

Core needs super powerful devices though. It runs on unreal engine and that is extremely taxing on a pc. On the other hand Roblox studio runs on low end devices fine too. I don't think much people will join core from Roblox because not everyone has good hardware.

my issue with Core is the fact that it runs on UE4. this makes Core way less acessible than Roblox because not everyone has a decent computer, especially in current times where prices are all messed up due to the supply shortage

Yep, I play a game using UE, which is in the beta, 10% of the things are added to the game, 15% - 20% with the new update releasing soon, and it still lags sometimes on the lowest graphics. But hey, I love the fan game and it's seriously awesome, so what's a bit of *7FPS* going to do?

The issue with this new "Core" thing is that Roblox studio is meant to be teaching you how to script, Build, and have fun but this is just not teaching you anything its just doing it for you. Sure Some people just want core for the monetization but that doesn't change the fact that a lot of people love these developers games and are inspired by them.

Actually, you can press F5 in Roblox studio while you're playetesting it to "Pause the game and edit it", just like you can press tab in Core.

Core is a platform that is literally GRINDING to overtake Roblox and ruin competition. And it is LITERALLY the same thing! To me, its just a lazy way to make a game, and I believe the free models in there are just a way to say "Easy to build" to get people's attention.

roblox studio is something I will never leave, I always tried developing games on other platforms, even though core is easy, I love coding and being able to do basically anything, if you didn't know, you can actually make character model body parts in blender and you can use them to make a game with a fully customizable character, which I think is pretty exciting, if you can't import a model because there are too many triangles, try splitting it up, importing, then grouping

Well the fact that its literally "too Easy" deving Is making It worse than roblox deving and by this i dont mean its Easy deving in general because It Is hard but for example in core when you Place a model It already has an idle animation and u dont have to animate It wich makes It "less interactive" + the revenue ur gonna get if core gets alot of players and devs its gonna lower from 50 to 25 or something close to that like roblox because yes they got a big budget but more devs Means they have to give more Money so they have to gain more...this Is Just my personal opinion Also srry for the long comment

I’m posting this before watching the video and my guess is it is because of roblox changing. For years roblox studios has been the same and operational. Until they added other things and it’s the fact more and more cookie loggers get smart enough to make a believable plugin, script, and model. It’s very irritating for beginners too. I’ve lost 3k robux to a cookie logger. Please be careful. If you see unusual activity on your account, always sign out of other sessions in case.

I notice that Core has a game called Balloon simulator that was published in December 17, 2020 and if you check in Roblox you can see a game also called Balloon simulator that was created in January 16, 2019 so it could be the same dev, a coincidence, or idk

Roblox main point is that it's available to all users because it's compatible with a lot of devices,unfortunately core doesn't have that.
Im most likely going to keep developing on roblox mainly because I feel you can be more creative with it, where as core only allows peices they made. Ex: In roblox you can use outside apps like blender to enhance your game.
Roblox is going to hear about this and the amount they give you for each purchase is going to go above theirs competitively to avoid losing players. I say we sponsor it more and more to make this happen.

The reason it’s lower is because the data store are extremely low, there’s no mobile support, no console support meaning they have to sound less money. It’s a stupid argument.
@Euro the reason why people still play roblox is bc they have slow devices that could not be able to play core, its very inconsiderate of you to look at the graphics when most people wont even be able to acces core.
@Euro It does not allow you to use custom assets (nor are they planning to change that), it’s only available to high-end PCs, it literally looks and feels like Fortnite both the UI and characters, the data store is limited and so are the servers meaning less money spent on moderation allowing them to boast like they’re holding up some massive community of UGC assets with a big pay cut.
Core is not Unreal Engine, its a modified version where they removed about 90% of features and made it a drag&drop engine. A good comparison would be BuildBox not Unreal. You’re leaving out a lot of the ugly parts here.

Its his responsibility as much as saying its his responsibility in making clear that is not an unbiased video (that he did). Its an overhaul awful video that deserve usefull criticism. And it's really clear that he made it just for money (how could he really think core is better after all he did on roblox?). Seems pretty bad in my opinion. Its just an 8 minutes sponsor, its not "content" nor "comparison" its just him wanting money (he need to eat lol). Even tho this was sponsored he could at least be fair and not only showing the good part of core and not the bad part nor the good part of roblox. I tried it out and i prefer roblox studio by a lot. I think developing in core is way more limited than in roblox, and i think it is a lot more difficult to do simple things like adding a part. It's basicly a game where you would rely completely on the toolbox, if it were roblox.

You’re obviously speaking from cores perspective all due to this being a sponsorship and not degrading its values. You could’ve spoken from both ends including the pros and cons of both platforms. I can instantly think that core will not surpass roblox if we’re speaking in player count any time soon.
There are many obvious reasons mainly a chat box and voice not being implemented within core, and free modeling shows lack of creativity and innovation for these developers. The games will quickly become repetitive and no chat box signifies no way of creating and hanging out with new people. The platform can acquire more players than roblox temporarily if they continue to bombard primarily roblox youtubers with this sponsorship.
You aren’t speaking out your personal opinions and disclosing argumental factors of the game. I highly doubt you’ll ever enter that program ever again both for entertainment purposes and revenue. It’s also amusing how you’ve mentioned just 1 average developer who went through your dms. You obviously included that to create a title and attention.

You do know you can create your own models if you want to, the market place is ment to save time and effort to focus on other aspects of a game such as putting together and designing the actual map for the game, scripting the framework for the game, designing the UI, animating and a lot of other things. 3d modeling is not the only thing required when making a game and to make it easier and save time making a game you would use the market place so you don't have to manual make your own models.
Your forgetting that you have to actually put together the assets to make the map, you can't just make random assets and leave them floating in the air lol. You can be creative creating the assets and you can also be creative putting together the assets to make a map witch btw requires more effort and creativity than just making the assets
I think this is good for those who just want to code but aren't able to make assets or good assets.

I honestly thought that Core was a very small/half-baked knock-off of Roblox. But now I see that it is growing to be a real competitor to Roblox.
Update: I've looked a little further into Core and so far it's looking liks a better offer than what Roblox has to offer, I think I might just switch.

you know i was thinking of checking it out, but i love "bad graphics" low poly stuff like Roblox, Minecraft, and i guess also the sims 2, so it is a negative, plus Roblox taught me to not use the available library of content because it has viruses that get you and your game banned, one thing i dislike is how "raw" Roblox is in comparison, i mean yeah Roblox looks like a Lego game on the dream cast, but it makes it incredibly easy to make unique models instead of using ones provided by the game, but with core, it seems you have to be incredibly good at building to match the artstyle of the game or make everything on your own, or else there is gonna be a Minecraft house with a car from fortnight next to it kind of miss-matching. Although no one on it is a pretty enticing offer.
