- Went to supercheap ...bought 2 blank keys..they were roughly 70 dollars each for the blanks... Replaced the old key cuts and reprogrammed with the MAP key reprogramming tool (54 dollars from repco). All up probably less than 5 minutes for both keys. Holden wanted 210 dollars for each key and they needed to have my car for 2-3 hours for the 1 key. 420 Dollars from holden for 2 keys...I paid 200 dollars and programmed 2 keys with a 3rd program spare for any future emergency.

Followed the steps, got a red light! Knew you only get two shots at it, it was then a life hack came to me!!! .... turned my Bluetooth head unit and Bluetooth on my phone both off and hey presto bingo green light all systems are go (sigh of relief)
Back story, I'd used an obd2 scanner that linked up via Bluetooth in the past which allows you too view your car diagnostics etc via your cell phone, randomly hoped turning off all Bluetooth devices would help and not entirely sure if it was what worked but anyway, entirely happy with your vid was a life saver and hey maybe my last ditch effort "advice" will help someone too

You will keep getting orange to red light persevere with it I did mine over 5-10 times red light each time then it coded. Common issue with these keys
Mine went red, tried it a dozen times. A few times I got three lots of three short beeps from behind the dash. Any ideas?
I'm having the same issue. Spent $150 just to get constant red lights. Beyond frustrating
@@BlokeJuice ended up my bcm was stuffed, maybe that is why it would not program. I have not tried it since getting the bcm replaced

@@ricksmith4894 i never tried the key programmer after getting BCM replaced, bcm came with two new key fobs that were programmed to it
Only does one fob unit ,cost 50 dollar ? Bit of a con job ? Should 2 or 3 key fobs for your car .
I know its an old video, but when u say on, is that dash lights on on?

I dont think so mate as you use the original key part and use use a new key fob for the new programming.
Will this programmer work with a new genuine Holden key ?

Nah man returned this got a someone to come out and program it for me gave me a new key and reprogrammed it for 250$ this might work for you my key was buggered
@@R123-v7n i just looked up the price for a programmer and they 80 bucks! my keys still ok just have to open manually.I did see replacements from key place and they replace fob bit and program$110.. I am thinking of replacing battery cheaper but a bit of a head fuck.. Cheers for the reply
My key was gone needed a hole new motherboard etc but atleast it starts now
Bruv you don't need a programmer unit. When the new key is in the ignition & turned on to the red lights just leave it for a 2-5 minutes turn off take key out press unlock then put the key back in & it will start

It is just called a MAP key programming tool.

Does this work for hsv?
I'm not sure but I'd assume the ignition system are the same through the range. Mine is an SS and worked fine.
