- One of the admins on the test server was kind enough to show us some of the incredible weather that's in! Note that while the storm at the end is coming in update 1.0.1, we don't not know if / when the snow and sandstorm will be in the live game (presumably when we get a snow and desert biome). I believe these weather types come with the UE5 engine.

Okay so what actually is this? I’ve been seeing this a lot and I think it’s really cool but what kind of game will it be?!?
Good question! Day of Dragons an online open world survival game where you play as a dragon. Currently, there are 5 playable species, but there are many more to come. In a later update, you will also be able to play as an elemental (think big rock golem thingy), sworn enemies of dragons.
There's pvp and pve - pvp kind of speaks for itself, there's clans and you fight other players, with more advanced features like clan territory to come in the future. Pve does not have much content currently (you can fight.. small bugs! :D) but will in future updates get more dangerous AI creatures as well as bosses with a loot system.
The game also has a complex nesting system which is a big part of the game; you nest with other dragons to improve stats and craft fancy skins for the offspring (the latter coming in a later update), all based on a genetic system. As a result there's a pretty big social aspect.
There's too much to explain in one comment! But long story short, they're working on an awesome game. It still has quite a way to go (early access) and it's good to know that the current game likely feels like it lacks content still. They're aiming for quality over speed, so if the current state of the game doesn't appeal to you yet, I definitely recommend checking back every now and then to see where it's at :) You can check out steam and their roadmap on trello to learn more about the game!

Playing as a dragon is what makes it so unique - and you're right, the dragons are gorgeous. While they might not be releasing new dragons every 2 months, a ton of effort goes into the design, model, animations, sounds etc. They feel incredible to play as

Hehe, it's an ampithere! A type of dragon with no legs and 2 wings - very different from the 'classic' dragon/wyvern indeed. Day of Dragons is including different dragon types, besides the standard four legged dragon and 2 legged wyvern.
