I’m about 10 years older and have been wearing makeup consistently since 1983. There’s room for learning about new techniques and products. Makeup is FUN, regardless of where you buy it. I’ve been discovering really good complexion products at the drugstore. It’s already my go-to place for lip products. Eye products are still in the high end category.

I consider cvs to be expensive for makeup, but the last time I repurchased the instant age rewind, I stacked deals and paid less than $5 for it.

Under $10? Now we’re talking! I’ve recently discovered the Wet N Wild Mega Length waterproof mascara at $3 and it’s absolutely fabulous. Very dry I mean dry but it’s great if you like to layer mascara. If you like a more natural look, it’s excellent as well. That was my find for 2023!

I love the Wet N Wild Retractable Brow Pencil in Ash Brown. It's perfect and around $3. I'm struggling to find a brow gel that is ashy enough for my brows so I usually just get clear. I'd love a one-and-done brow gel for my lazy days when I still want to look put together but in a flash. I wish Hard Candy would make contour shades like those bronzers. I absolutely love the Elf contour wand in the lightest shade, but I hate the messy sponge-tip applicator and would love a doe foot. What a beautiful nude lip!!

Don't feel bad about your lack of snow. I am in Fargo, ND and we only have a dusting of snow on the ground with 36 above today. Unbelievable--last year we had snow over the knee and -25 below. While I don't really miss the -25, the lack of snow is kind of concerning.
Omg I often think of NYC makeup from target back in the day. They had 99c eyeliners that I swear were about 10 inches long! 😂 I fondly remember an eyeshadow quad that had one navy blue gel eyeliner in it. The BEST!
You eyes are so beautiful; you have such great movable lid space. I love the way it looks when you place the shimmer on your entire eyelid with the dark shade at only the very outer part of the corner. Honestly though, your eyes are beautiful even before the makeup goes on!

I used to use Milani eyeshadow primer but I found it a bit drying, then I discovered Palladio Rice Primer and now I use it in my T-zone and eyelids and it helps to smooth everything over so I rarely use setting powder. The Believe eyeshadow palette is super pretty. I'll be going to my nearest Dollar General store to get it. I don't do devotionals but my goal for this year is morning prayer before starting my day.
I was just looking online for the L'oreal lipliner, and when I found the listing for it, it showed a photo with it and several other liners with their suggested lipsticks. Au Naturale's suggestion was Colour Riche Fairest Nude. Talk about a blast from the past and a great suggestion of yours in the day, Emily!
No lack of snow here in Newfoundland, Canada! A few years ago we were shut down for days because we had over 90cms fall in some parts of the island in one storm! lol and that was added on to a bunch of snow that had already accumulated throughout the winter season. Wild times 😂

Their mascara is some of the best out there. And, as you said, the cream blush in Dollface is also wonderful.

I used to use Milani eyeshadow primer but I found it a bit drying, then I discovered Palladio Rice Primer and now I use it in my T-zone and eyelids and it helps to smooth everything over so I rarely use setting powder.
The Believe eyeshadow palette is super pretty. I'll be going to my nearest Dollar General store to get it.

No lack of snow here in Newfoundland, Canada! A few years ago we were shut down for days because we had over 90cms fall in some parts of the island in one storm! lol and that was added on to a bunch of snow that had already accumulated throughout the winter season. Wild times 😂
