Hi! I'm from Oman and I've been following you for a while. It was lovely seeing you visit our country. I would like to give you some tips for your next visit to Oman or any other GCC countries. I would really suggest that you have a local or a resident of that country with you, there are a lot of tourist guides available too, you just need contact them before coming to the country. The public transport system is not advanced compared to other countries. Also make sure the road has a pull over lane when you ask for a lift or a ride, cars won't stop in the middle of the road since it's risky and they could face a fine. You can't tour the country on foot, it's literally impossible even during the winters, there are two main reasons for that: first - the tourist attractions or even ordinary malls and restaurants are quite far away from one another, you will definitely need a car. Second - the traffic is rough and the cars are fast, I would not advise any tourists to walk by the road, safety first. We will be more than happy to host you for your next visit to Oman. You can reply to this comment, so we can get in touch. Oman is a beautiful country with a lot to offer to tourist and travellers 🇴🇲
Totally agree Prashanth👍 I have stayed in all GCC countries including Bahrain, no comparison but we should agree 💯 that Omani ppl are very soft spoken and very humble, their respect for Expat is good.
Mornings are prickly hot and evenings are super chill.. My trip was in April and it was quite hot then! Thankfully had friends who took me around in car, couldn't have imagined hitchhiking or depending on public transport.
One of the best country around the world 🇴🇲❤ ..0%crime .. I was there for almost 4years in working Visa...everything was going smoothly suddenly .. my father he passed away ... due to covid19 ... I lost my gem 💎 .. so I came back to nepal .... for my dad funeral .. but due to some reasons I couldn't return back to oman I stucked till 6 months so my visa was expired.. omani people are very humble.. not like others gulf countries citizens.. they will definitely reply you if you tell them salam walikum .. the respond they give to us that is lit💯❤ .. I miss my colleagues my omani friends .. there are lots of unforgettable memories that I had created in my life . With oman and omanis people... thanks sir you made me refresh .. you made my day
I went to Muscat in November, 2017. At that time weather was good enough. But this time it seems humid so i think December to February would be a good time to visit. By the way it’s a beautiful country and Omani’s are welcoming people.
The mountains you seem to be talking about would be: Jebel akhdar Jebeal al shams Do visit some of the beaches as well like : Yiti beach Qantab if possible Pebble beach near sur Shatti beach And some wadis like: Wadi bani khalid Sinkhole etc Do let me know if you would like to know more places!

Middle East countries climate are mostly dry.. I know how high humidity can affect your health coz we Eastern side of India experience this every summer. Temp reached up to 42 deg n can cause dehydration so it's better to keep ur body hydrating every hour. God bless them who helped you in this trip of Oman. Person with golden heart and pure soul like U 😊will always be protected by Him. If u visit Oman next time plz do visit bahla fort.. It's UNESCO heritage Site n haunted one.. Oman is beautiful country and has a lot of tourist sites to visit like bammah sinkhole , wadi bani Khalid , al hoqain , naseem par, rose garden , qantab beach , qurum beach etc ...... Yeah but it's really hot there ( sometimes the temperature reaches around 45-50 degrees too )
Dear Varun, it's illegal to offer lifts to people on the highway or anywhere in Oman. Only the taxis or licensed transport companies are allowed to offer trips or any sort of pick up and drop. That is the reason , no one dares to stop for you as the fine is about OMR200, equivalent to INR40000. Omanis are generally very helpful , but obeying govt rule is more important, and that is the reason people were not stopping for you. And the govt and police is very vigilant that anyone not obeying the rules are caught immediately

Varun, Next time time try to rent a car on rent and your tour will be so much comfortable. In 2019, small cars were available at 10 OMR per 24 hours. Now ma be around 15 to 20 OMR. It is good for local traveling and for distance travel also if there is group. And lot of local places to visit around Muscat and Ruwi like Matra, Matra market and Beaches in Muscat. Also few far flung locations like Jebel Akhtar, Jebel Shams where it snows in winter, Wadi shab abd sink hole etc. Even you can go far south to Salalah where it rains in Mansoon and you will find the greenery like India and even coconuts and banana. 😊😊

I used to deliver pizzas in MSQ and Qurum areas on bike in 2011-2013. I know how much we hated waiting on red lights on bike.
