At this dvd David Forster said " She flew from Russia where she just had a huge concert just few hours ago, she came straight to L.A and she is now here to sing for us. She had no time to resting or rearsheal after 12 hour in an airplane." ;) They also didn't practice together. Lara just made it from Moscow (after her concert) directly to L.A and started singing with him. She is so professional and confident. Classical vocal trained for over 12 years, plays piano and guitar, speaks fluently English, French, Italian, Spanish (and composes in all these languages), she is also able to speak and understand some Portuguese, Rússian, Greek and Flamish. She also sang another song that night, an Italian song called Caruso, which is in her native language (her mother was Italian and she lived there from 0 to 5 years old). You made a lot of perceptive comments particularly about retraint. Unlike other commentators below, although Michael Bolton seemed a bit cold and nervous, their voices blended really well, In their blending and timing they were, I think, superior to Dion and Bocelli.
You're going to hate me,, but I used to have a _really_ hard time watching this performance because I felt Bolton was so terribly outclassed (though Fabian is an incredibly generous partner) I would cringe through the whole thing. I've gotten used to it and just focus on her. (I just think this wasn't quite in his vocal comfort zone, at least not on this night.) But Her control, power to delicacy, simple melisma. Yesss. My pleasure and I am happy you enjoyed it. My opinion is I believe Bolton while an incredible singer is not used to this type of material so he had to really focus heavily as to not make any mistakes. Lara can sing anything so she is always 100% comfortable. Outstanding duet though😊🎶🎤👑

He must have felt lots of pressure before singing (especially after such a praising presentation of Lara from Foster lol) & throughout the song as well, but he was up to it, their voices mixed up so well and the performance was stunning at the end of the day, that's what matters. Lara is used to saying that she has the jitters before singing (phew, she's human lol), but it doesn't show, never, she's so good at keeping her composure, always up to it no matter the context, what an artist... Plus: Both singers, Seal and Michael Bolton have written on their twitters account at that night that they were talking behind the stage, then when they heard Lara's starting singing "Caruso", then they ran to watch her just behind the courtains, Seal said that they just got hipnotized. Plus 2: Take a look at the backing vocal just before Lara and Michael's last belting note, she starts clapping hands. Even the backing vocals got excited about this note and the whole perfonance.
