Hey my dude, sick beat! I have an oxygen 8v2 and a mpd218 using Ableton live 10, literally just started yesterday so I am wondering. how did you get that original song on Ableton. what equipment do you think i am missing.....and do you have some tips on getting started? thanks my dude
Commenting on this wayyyy later but the way you swung your sample chops when playing live was suuuper dope. How did you practice finger drumming? I want to get better at it
this is beautiful, congrats! also thanks for sharing your process, it was very helpful :) i noticed you use alesis vi25 pads on another video... comparing to akai 218, what could you say about them?
Lowfi dari you can turn its velocity up so that no matter how hard you hit it it’ll still be loud, it’s a setting on your DAW and it can work on any midi
What advice would you be able to give a noob that's just starting out beat making when it comes to finger drumming and where to begin learning how to to do it? Like the 101 starting point to build from?
Well, that's a great question hahaha First of all, the best thing you can do about finger drumming is practising. Watch some tutorials about basic rythms and tricks and then practice. Even if you dont have the controller (AKAI, maschine, whatever), you must practice rythms with your fingers. If you do that, you will notice the improvements very soon. In terms of beatmaking I consider myself a noob too. Watch tutorials, performances and the more important thing: listen to the best beatmakers: J Dilla, Madlib, Riddle... That gives you a perspective. Also, it's fundamental to listen to original samples (from 60's, 70's, 80's...) Thats all I can tell you, I hope I have been helpful ! Keep in touch
Yeah, it requires a lot of practice... In a kind of way it's like playing the piano. Don't give it up.Thank you so much! I will upload more videos like this
I did it with an external recorder: www.thomann.de/es/tascam_dr_05_16_gb_bundle.htm You can use ableton or an internal recorder, but for me its easier in the other way
katoxori 89 chopping on ableton live is very intuitive. maschine software too. however I usually do it on fl studio because Ive been using it a few years and I work faster
man, that’s a sick beat. you convinced me to buy this drum pad.
it’s gonna be my first ever

How do you sample then chop it up and arrange it to your pads? Would help a lot if you could help me!
Hey, great video. Is mpd 218 enough for making live music with sample scratchs in ableton?
Do you have your chops looped so they play all way thru or do you put all chops on a choke ?
Daaaaannng

i noticed you use alesis vi25 pads on another video... comparing to akai 218, what could you say about them?
They are very different, akai pads are more sensitive. It has pros and cons but, at the end, I would choose akai pads. And thank you very much!
How do you map drums to the pads on ableton?
What kind of drum did you select in Ableton
que buen video saludos desde mexico amigos
👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾

How do you program the buttons like that?
How is the pad sensitivity? I had an ldp8 that required relatively forceful hits to get a clear sound
Lowfi dari you can turn its velocity up so that no matter how hard you hit it it’ll still be loud, it’s a setting on your DAW and it can work on any midi
Which software do you use bruh?!
HOOOOOOOOO !

Did you sidechain the sampled audio with the kick sample? just wondering because it sort of sounds like it. well done man
Zack Halisky yes! I did it in the final result (also a bit of compression and EQ) Thanks!!

How do you actually record your own beat? Just got my AKAI MPD218. Brand new to it, and I'm literally lost in actually knowing the software.
I did it with an external recorder:
www.thomann.de/es/tascam_dr_05_16_gb_bundle.htm
You can use ableton or an internal recorder, but for me its easier in the other way
@@FATCAP Do you know how to access the ableton one?

katoxori 89 chopping on ableton live is very intuitive. maschine software too. however I usually do it on fl studio because Ive been using it a few years and I work faster
FATCAP thanks mate
Did you quantize it?
Yes, when I did the final arrangement
don't you have double triggering issues with the MPD218?? Annoying as hell. tried everything
What record player is that?
www.thomann.de/es/tascam_dr_05_16_gb_bundle.htm
