On disc mode you gotta run gain up high 90-100 to get the depth, but disc does cut some depth down compared to threshold, maybe 2-4cm. On a littered field running threshold just isnt practical for me, i usually run disc with 40 filter. Amazing machine for the price though!
great little machine for the money i used one for around a year my advice would be buy a 2nd hand after market coil G2 coils work so do goldbug and fisher F19 coils,the original coil seems to get water in and the lugs are very weak mine broke through stubble.But for the price they are a real bargain
I also found a couple of rocks that my detector picked up. one was a lump of magnetite and the other was a lump of silver veined Obsidian . They both made the needle on my compass move when I passed it over the top of them !.
@@Hadesdetecting excited to see how close their beeps are. I think the coil is huge as far as depth goes. And with the 5in coil I usually don't end up on as many wild goose chases.

I wouldn't waste time with the depth meter the only meter that I'm interested in is to see if it's iron or not.... if I dig down 10 centimetres and still don't find anything then I'll go for the depth meter.... It'll probably be a buried car or something like that big

For coins and relics. - Turn machine on disc mode and leave Gain about 60. - Using the up down buttons. Up the discrim to about 50. You want to avoid low numbers giving good sounds. Buzzes, beeps, grunts and happy whines tell you different things about size, type, whether the metal is non ferrous eg. 15 eg is iron so old nails washers etc won't show up. So this filters all that out. If you descrim to about 50 it doesn't even grunt. - once you find a mark, hold down the middle button. This is a close finder thing helps zero in the target. Also can give you an idea of size of target. Short n sharp is small and strong. Long could be a buried can it a large item - what you want to do though is work on a X axis. Put a mark down, then at 90 degrees find where the mark is on the y axis. Dig! Use a pinpointer. Get a good shovel... Trowels give you blisters hahaha. Hope this helps anyone who can't find a tutorial straight away. Otherwise as mentioned just lookup G2 tutorials

Treasure Hunter GX 850 is better for the same price. They are almost identical but the GX has LED light display background ,the coil is faster and better quality.

Better off. It's a gamble with these knockoffs. I gambled on a cheap pinpointer (Pudibe), and beat the odds with a decent pinpointer.
