Dear Ferris, One more question, which journal is the best and most authentic journal for urban planning? Since, I applied for an urban planning master course, I should know where to submit my articles. Could you please help me with that?
I am majored in architecture, and now have applied for Urban Planning for my masters degree. Could u recommend me some books that can be of help for a person like me?
Absolutely. Design with Nature by Ian McHarg; The Social Life of Small Urban Spaces by William H. Whyte; Triumph of the City by Edward Glaeser; The Death and Life of Great American Cities by Jane Jacobs; basically anything and everything by Kevin Lynch (My favorites are: The Image of the City, A Theory of Good City Form, and Site Planning); A Pattern Language by Christopher Alexander; The City in History by Lewis Mumford (if you like history); Urban Economics by Arthur O'Sullivan (to understand the economics of urban development, this is the best book out there); The Key to Sustainable Cities by Gwendolyn Hallsmith; City Comforts by David Sucher; the Trouble with City Planning by Kristina Ford; The Wealth and Poverty of Regions by Mario Polese . . . That's probably enough to get you started.
THANK U NICE JOB
Thank you
