ryan ross's eyebrow oh yes, he also sang on 'the wassailing song', 'Alex song' and maybe he did sing something on think tank (i remember a photo from the recording of the album in wich he, Damon and dave were singing together - maybe we've got a file on you?). but i meant, he could sing more, like Graham does :) in fact, i belive he has also potential as a songwriter, i think he could be more active as a musician. great guy anyway!
+Valdo Tc As a bass player he is plentifully active as a musician. Also maybe singing in general, even in Blur, is just not his thing. Not all great musicians are singers.
To be completely honest far out by blur Is one of my favourite songs and the singing is actually incredible which was sang by Alex his voice is like an angel wthhhhhh
As a well experienced bass player. The bass is a very unforgiving instrument and requires high accuracy. The bass is completely different to a guitar and does a completely different job. The bass line in boys and girls is 4/4 in 16th notes. That's incredibly fast and you would have to achieve that with high accuracy the entire time. That takes some skill to do to go that speed with high accuracy. It's not a novice line successfully achieve. And the genuine of it is general baseline in rock or old pop that used rock instrument the more successful baselines that successfully fulfil the job of the bass tying the whole song together the melody, rhythm and beat is best by simplicity and he pulled off a baseline that on first sound nails simplicity but it's not at all.
Slapping and pop always kind of sounds cool and gives a little funk to it but slapping and popping is pretty easy it's quick to learn. Walking so plucking and muting so two strings don't twang at the same time and make that horrendous sound so walking at high speed requires more skill then a funk inspired line. The bass is very different from guitar. Probably hard for your non muso brain to understand.
"Woo-hoo"
"Oh yeah"
love how he is just naturally holding an invisible bass 😂
All the cheese and cigarettes won't have helped his voice😂😂
if you dislike this video alex james will burst through your door at midnight and sing bad opera
I wonder how many swooning ladies fell for that and smashed the dislike button lol
I broke my screen because of how hard i pressed the dislike button
cheese man
LMAO
Alex James singing opera in Italian is the best thing ever
Why isn't there a show where all of them try and play his bass lines? Then there'd be more laughter.
we stan cheese man
Seriously is there any TV show he hasn't been on????
He actually did a pretty good job (the confidence though)
not opera, but he actually could sing for blur.
Valdo Tc he has. listen to the song 'far out' by blur.

Valdo Tc i see now i misunderstood what you meant
ryan ross's eyebrow actually my comment was a bit dull, i should have been more specific!

HA,HA,HA,HA,HA,HA,HAAAAAAA!!!!!!! I loved how he was playing air bass while singuing.
This makes me smile and laugh everytime. I love this
Great bass player, very underrated...Obviously not a singer, but very funny guy, great self deprecating humour.
True, as a bassist myself i think he's quite good.
He doesn't sing much, but he's actually not that bad of a singer. Listen to Far Out, Alex's Song, and Hanging Around.
all that cheese got to him 😭
and taught him how to be a holy cow
Cutest guy ever!

ryan ross's eyebrow Pretty. Good.
ryan ross's eyebrow I see Ryan Ross, I reply without a reason
if you come up to alex and start singing "Picked up the girl
And he sailed around the world" he's probably explode

He was always an arrogant prat at school. Well known for his strut and over-confidence rather than his talent.
