I can't ever recall seeing such high quality acting in these type of movies and the sets pieces are outstanding quality. I want to see them in Pride and Prejudice as Lizzie and Darcy. Modern day of course and EVERYBODY HATES THEM TOGETHER. ❤ so they got to find each other on THEIR OWN 👰🤴
The theatrical release was less graphic then this version and they didn’t say the f word as much 😂😂. When I watched some of it with my mom after seeing it in theatre’s, during the start where she hung herself I literally said “I don’t remember her head coming off”.
Fun fact if you didn’t know “Son of The Dragon” is what “Dracula” translates to. Can I just say I love how they didn’t explicitly say “vampire” (until the end at least) or “Dracula” but they made it obvious
I've definitely read Shakespeare's 'The Tempest' too often, because now I just keep hearing Oliver saying to Walter in reference to Evie: "Aye lord. She will become thy bed, I warrant, and bring thee forth brave brood." Granted I don't know if vampires actually can have children ("brave brood" in this case meaning 'fine children'), but the main point is that in both situations one man's basically pimping out a young woman to another man behind her back.

Apparently an earlier ending hinted at a sequel but the director didn't want a sequel and felt that the original ending took away from Evie's victory - they had her leave the burning house and start hunting the rest down but still as a vampire and then we find out that Walter is alive and is smuggling himself back to Romania by boat a la the original book where he's feeding on the passengers and crew to keep himself alive and rebuild his strength. As awesome as she was asa vampire I get why the director felt it took away from her victory, her becoming human again is like saying 'I don't want any part of it' and fully rejecting the future everyone else had planned for her, like she's saying 'I am not Evelyn Alexander, she doesn't exist. My name is Evie Jackson.'
You seem very knowledgeable. What do you think of a more cost effective ending where Walt simply snaps Evie's neck and entombs her for her insubordination. Then a dashing ginger rescues her and they fall in love. And the gingers sister becomes Walt's new submissive. So now we have Dracula's complete set of brides. A blonde, a brunette and a redhead. No more feuding. It's not Walt's fault he has to feed on humans.

Ended up painting a lot of work for other people so they would actually make my pieces for me. My god, he's an attractive man, and that accent...(Even if I do vastly prefer his actual accent to the English one he occasionally uses in movies.)

There are all sorts of stories about his brutality bother from his enemies and from local tales of the time but none can be proven so we don't really know. Either way though I can definitely hear Walter saying that long speech of Count Dracula in chapter 3 of the original book by Btram Stoker where he's talking about Romanias history as if he was there and gets a bit carried away saying things like "Fools, fools!! What devil or what witch was ever so great as Attila, whose blood is in these veins?" or "Is it a wonder that we were a conquering race" or "Bah! what good are peasants without a leader?" or "The warlike days are over. Blood is too precious a thing in these days of dishonourable peace; and the glories of the great races are as a tale that is told."
Am I the only one who thought the humans deserved to be punished. I'd rather be killed by a sparkly Vamp and go straight to heaven than get stuck in eternal damnation. I've always wanted to play a vampire but never become one in real life. It sounds tempting tho. Like how the serpent tempted Eve in the garden of Eden. Or should I say Evie! If only she found her ginger Prince Adam. She would have lived happily ever after like Meghan and Harry!
