Just watched this, bought a Swift |Edge 464, traded in my Hymer B544 and got to say the quality of the Swift is just as good as the Hymer. I get that going from a 2004 model Hymer to a brand new Swift is a leap in technology and unfair to compare, but I really think that the quality of the Swift is excellent and comparable to any brand available.
I went to brownhills a few weeks ago with the intention of finding a newer motorhome to replace my 05 auto trail tracker. I came away happy that the build quality and condition of mine was better than much newer campers. The build quality of new campers is terrible.
Hi an04ker, I think the materials they use to build new motorhomes is getting lighter and stronger but at the cost of it appearing to be cheap. I guess it could also be cheap too, looking at the Swift Edge they are trying to keep the cost and weight down
The Edge range very much seems to be built to a budget as the fit and finish is very underwelming. I'd rather put the asking price of any of the range vans to a much better quality older Motorhome that you can drive on a B licence. I'm glad that both the Wife and I are old enough to have the cat C on ours. I could have driven the much bigger Motorhomes until I recently recinded my HGV.
Hi Digger Buckett, you may be right but I think they are going for making the m/h as light as possible so you won't find chromie bits or glass everywhere. You have a cat C licence but those young families are stuck with a camper or M/hs like the Edge. BTW love the name
From what I have seen so far, the quality on new motor homes is terrible. The industry should be ashamed of itself. Funny also how most new motor homes are between £45k and £55k, could that be because early retirement cash payouts are around that value? Clearly targeting the early retirement category.
David, you could be right about linking the cost with the retirement. However, I think they are thinking about the younger generations because simply because they can't drive heavy motorhomes so they have to make them lighter but also take a family

That's interesting, David. Thanks for sharing 👍. Have you had it long? Do you have any trips planned?

I think if you push the booster on the mattress back you will have more room to squeeze by.
Henry, are you talking about the transverse bed? What's the booster for and do you need it to sleep in the bed?
meant to say bolster to mattress on the traverse bed.
Hi Henry, I don't know what a bolster mattress is. Could you explain, please ?
@@HermanHitstheRoad It,s like a add on to a mattress that can be removed or 2 pillows in the same cover.
Ok thanks. So I could have probably walked around the bed then?
Zoe was quite today What have you done?
She's still silly though. Did you see what she does at the end of the video?

For new vehicles they all look very dated internally and externally, and the cabinetry seems of very poor quality. Built down to a price!
And to be very light weight, I think, John.
Great video. Was not impressed with the swift design .not enough room. Even the bigger motorhomes well not user friendly.

Nice video Ads . Really not impressed with the Swift range , they just look cheap and tacky.
Thanks Shep, the thing is they are cheap compared to say Autotrail and the like
