Thank you very much. I know how much time and effort this took and it is very helpful for an old man starting out.
Theraband is super important to the evolution of the modern slingshots we have today. It was without a doubt the best band material 15ish years ago and and it’s not surprising so many older guys still swear by it.
But theraband was never meant for slingshots and it’ll never keep up with the materials we have now. Most of the bands we have now are designed specifically to shoot projectiles.
The perfect video I was looking for!!!
Thanks for making this video.
Thank you for all the work and the time that you invested to bring us this information, really top notch. One point that I do not agree with completely, you gave points for the lowest draw weight, but you should bring that in relation to the speed obtained. So you divide the draw weight by the speed, the smallest number gets the highest score, I hope you understand what I mean. Just having a very low draw weight is nothing in itself....
Thanks again for your effort
Igor
Fair point!! I gave higher points for low draw weight for one reason: I was testing .6 up to .65 and I assumed there wouldn't be as much variation.. but I was very wrong!!
I thoroughly enjoyed this test video! Thank you for taking the time to do it brother!👊💥
Awesome series buddy! In my experience in and out of my pocket causes the annoying damage. I buy die cut bands and tie them myself, so I have a lot of extra length. I bundle up the extra and tie it off at the fork end. I have the extra to fix them when they fail, most often the pouch end. Pocket damage is often a knick on the edge somewhere in the center. If I cut them at that spot either half is too short to shoot, a big waste. I've started making the handles on my naturals a bit longer. Long enough for the pouch the hook over the bottom and stay there. That seems to manage the bands better and minimize that kind of damage.
Great series of videos. The results help to dispel some myths out there. I got many takeaways from the tests. One thing I want to note is that there is a bias towards longevity. Two of the tests favor longevity, with one test completely downgrading a band if it does not reach 250 shots. Perhaps do a speed test at 100 shots instead, by which point we should expect the band is sufficiently warmed up. This should keep all the bands in the running.
As for tests in the future, I am hoping you can do one for the 0.8 - 0.85mm bands on 9.5mm and 11mm steel balls. This is squarely in the heavy or hunting band category. Truth is most of us will never hunt with slingshots or simply are not allow to do so in our area. But the interest is certainly there. I got into this rabbit hole from watching slingshot hunting videos. With the hunting bands, the thinking is 25-20 is the way to go for taper instead of slimmer tapers. I believe there has been a lot of thought put into that recommendation. Perhaps in the field you do not want to risk having a slim taper. I am hoping that besides testing for the best bands, that you are able to give us insight on choice of taper for the hunting bands, specifically for 11mm steel. But before you go headlong into that, I want to note that snipersling does not yet have available 0.8mm. It is greyed out. Perhaps wait until we get a full field of all the major players? Thanks again buddy for all the hard work!
I am certainly interested in getting the proper hunting set ups tested. There just isn't nearly as much interest in it within the community right now. Proper hunting is my personal end-goal though!!
@@TheSmoShow1 No problem man, thank you!
Thanks for your work! 😁👍
You have an awesome memory brother at 05:54 at half speed. Enjoy 'em while they are young. My photo for my you tube is 13 years old. My boys are at the house but grown. I am blessed my eldest is still there. My youngest is 16. Thanks for the video, I know this was a lot of work and people probably smeared monkey bombs all over everything, you don't worry about them. Have fun and god bless.
100% Slingshot bands and Snipersling black are my go to.
Thank you for the great info!! 🙏🙏🙏
…and you’re correct about the aroma of the TB Gold!! It does smell damn nice!! 😁👌
Great video. I have subscribed!
Thanks!!!
Good job .
It would’ve been awesome to see how the draw weights changed after the 250 shots. I’ve always noticed some latex seemed to stretch out after a while and lose draw weight while some don’t stretch out and still lose draw weight.
EITHER WAY AWESOME SERIES!! I’m sure this will help out a lot people!
Love that SimpleShot latex
It's awesome stuff! I have some .8 I wanna try a different taper and see how I get along with 11mm steel
Big Fan of Simple Shot black , just purchase Snipper Sling. Thank you for the extensive review! Im trying 24mm to 12 mm tapper shooting 5/16 in .05.
Sounds good! I don't shoot 5/16, I just can't bring myself to change lol. I do like to shoot 1/4in when I'm not being serious though
I'm expecting my Snipersling 0.7 any day now so was very happy to see the results you got :) Thanks for the video.
You won't be disappointed!!
@@TheSmoShow1 It arrived today, I'm just cutting some bands, pretty excited! 😃
Please let me know how you like them!!
@@TheSmoShow1 I love 'em! Cut at a 20 to 14mm taper the draw feels really nice and 9.5mm steel it hitting the targets hard. I'm very impressed!
I've ordered some 0.6 for shooting 8mm ammo now :)
Great job man! I'm subscribing to your channel! I'm begging you, please make season 2 of this great drama series 😁. I would like to see for example: Sumeike, BSB white and yellow, SoBong, 100% Slingshot, Natural medical latex, Top selling noname latex from Aliexpress with good comments. I would gladly see GNOL bands as well but I've heard they are out of the business for some reason. Too bad cause there are still mothers telling their children bedtime stories about the mighty speed of GNOL bands...😄
I'm working on 2-3 more "band shoot out" series.. I've gotten so much interest it's crazy!
@@TheSmoShow1 Great!🤗
Hello, thanks for showing us your hard work. The three clips really helped me with band selection too. Do you think you'll be able to do similar testing on Celtic catty four season blue 0.5-0.6? Thanks
hey buddy love your content i appreciate the work you put in for this information i shoot 11mm steel any suggestion on what bands to try at what thickness?
I'm switching to 11mm steel for the next few weeks to dial in my shots. I'm going hunting in May and I want to make sure I am as ready as I can be. I use .8 bands, cut 25-19. My draw is only to my face so the bands are pretty heavy
Hey I love your vids how much are them cattys made out of the decenders or how much is it to make one 👍👍👍
I want to know simpleshot black .7 and .8 compare to gzk green. 7 and .8
How about testing the speed of the bands after holding at full draw say for 10 to 15 seconds and see which drop the least in speeds. Great vid.
Great idea! Happens to many people when theyre out in the field..
