I love the backdrop! Having it hanging there looks like it was relatively simple to do, yet it adds such a thematic element to your video and helps with the immersion.
Beautiful! I am especially impressed by the corset and how well it fits you. Was is self-drafted? What was your starting point for the pattern? The bustle looks exquisitely designed. Did you work from pictures of bustles from the period? The convergence of the tapes at the back of the waist is *chef's kiss*.
Thankyou! 🙂 I made them both myself, though the corset was from a pattern drafted to my measurements by a friend. The bustle cage is my own design, and I was influenced by extant examples, but mainly by early 1870s fashion plates of ball gowns and the very full skirt shapes they depict. I wanted to create a bustle big enough to match the proportions of the shirts in those fashion plates. I feel that the really large bustles depicted in that era are under represented. 👍
This is beyond incredible!!! Is it possible to purchase the pattern or measurements of this? I'm trying to recreate it for myself for a project and my trial and error method is not working.
I am quite fascinated by the shape of that bustle, I've created my own fictional fashion eras (long story) and it uses a similar shape, have you found other bustles while in research that also do that mermaid dress-esque flair?
Strange question. You can ask the same about every fashion trend which ever existed :) It was a fashionable silhouette in that era. So the purpose was beauty as they imagined it.
@@Olga_Ovechkina I do find the matter intriguing, and since you're asking about who I'm trying to hint at?? Is their a reason you think I'm trying to hint?

Thankyou so much! I am glad to get feedback on how the backdrop looks. I am happy that it adds something to the video. 🙂👍
I would love to see a before and after with a victorian gown. Like, how the gown looks without the bustle, and how it looks with the bustle!!
Hi, yes that is something I would like to do as soon as my new Victorian gown is finished. 🙂
Is it finished now? Would lovvvve a before an after with this bustle size
I love the name of your channel!
Wow such cool logistics!!
Wonderful
Very nice video

Thankyou!🙂 Not currently, but I am considering adding some to Etsy, or possibly in a book in the future.
@@beautyandthebustle thank you so much!!! Do you have a link to your Etsy shop? Looking forward to more of your creations!!
Thankyou.🙂 My Etsy shop is in need of a few tweaks first, but once I have some listed for sale, I will put a link in my video description. 🙂👍
wonderful!
Wow! My life would be full of mishaps...😉
Its easy to knock things over!😂
Are the ties between the fabric necessary or can it be one panel of fabric across?
It can be, but there would be no adjustability.
Couldn't see any of the commentary on the video. It would be clearer in black.
Hello how are you doing 😊😊😊☺️
Nice video... from India

Yes there are a few historical examples that flare out like this one.
@@beautyandthebustle that's amazing to hear, thank you!
Question: What was the purpose of wearing a bustle undergarment anyway?
Strange question. You can ask the same about every fashion trend which ever existed :)
It was a fashionable silhouette in that era. So the purpose was beauty as they imagined it.
@@Olga_Ovechkina You don't say? lol so with that being said regarding the beauty that they imagined, I wonder who were their inspiration?
@@janetmoreland8754 I don't quite understand who you are trying to hint at.

How would you have gone to the toilet with that thing hanging on your butt the whole time?
Very easily: ua-cam.com/video/NUHeSTDv_24/v-deo.html
It folds up out of the way.
