something i really admire about naomi is that even if the meal isn't good she will eat almost if not all of it and i wish i could do that because food waste gives me anxiety but i just can't... i love that about her and i try to learn from it. i think it's super cool and a really good example for everyone
Food waste is terrible but so is ignoring your body. Never overeat because you're concerned about wasting food. Please listen to your body's hunger cues and stop eating when you feel full.

@@KassidyNeelyi think what they were trying to say is that you shouldn’t force yourself to eat food you’re not enjoying just to avoid wasting it. in my opinion, the food is already “wasted” the moment you put a bunch of it on your plate and then decided you didn’t like it. you can choose to throw it out or to choke it down, but either way, that food is not really being used the way it’s supposed to. i used to make myself eat everything on my plate, even if i didn’t like it, but that just made me unhappy. nowadays, i try to just take/make a smaller serving if i’m not sure i’m gonna like the food. then, if i like it, i can just get/make more. you can also give away leftovers of food you dislike to friends and family, provided it hasn’t been put on someone’s plate and it’s not hazardous, bc sometimes it tastes bad bc it’s raw/rotten lol! the other day i dumped out some oat milk bc it tasted terrible and i just knew i wasn’t going to drink it, and it came out BROWN !! i know that’s an extreme example, but i think my point stands: there is no need to make yourself eat food you hate. doing that is just as much of a waste as throwing it out, because you’re not enjoying the food. of course, this is just my opinion, but it’s helped me have a better relationship with food, and i’m hoping it might help someone else as well :)

It's veryyyy good and It's really simple! I've never seen it with caramel but it's usually made by layering Nilla Wafers, vanilla pudding, and sliced Bananas in a dish😁😁
The original recipe with ladyfingers or sponge cake is a NY thing, but the Nilla Wafers version (the good one 😌) is definitely Southern. I hate bananas but always liked the other elements, so my southern granny always makes me a separate little dish with no bananas and vanilla pudding lol

For the dates snack I recommend Algerian dates! They go so well. And me personally I like my dates sweet and soft so I think Algerian dates are perfect!
Mayonnaise is eggs, oil, and an acidic component, usually vinegar... as someone who bakes a lot, it goes quite well in chocolate cake, especially when you add a little espresso powder. I make candy too, and can tell you, it's dangerous to bring sugar to the hard crack stage in the microwave.... plus it's easy to burn. You need to do it over the stove where you can visualize it, and have a handle to securely hold it, so you can pull it off the stove when you see it slightly change color after it starts to boil. Hot sugar is like lava. I have had it bubble over on me before when I was making honeycomb candy. A tiny bit got on the sleeve of my shirt, and barely touched my skin, but it burned me pretty good nonetheless.

For our family at least it's vanilla pudding with whipped topping and sweetened condensed milk mixed together to make the pudding layer, then slices of banana and nilla wafers. I personally don't like it with banana since we make big batches to eat over multiple days and the banana can get a bad texture imo. The way the pudding mixture softens the cookies into a sort of cakey thing over time is just sooo good. I'm from the southern part of the US which is where I always assumed it was from but I don't know.

Omg Naomi, you were so lucky with the melted sugar thing. So many people have ended up in hospital, because to heat sugar to the temperature that is needed to caramelise it you need to use a metal container and since you can't put metal in the microwave, you have to melt sugar on the hob. Although what you were using was microwave safe, caramelising sugar takes them way above the temperature that they're made for. Also, when you add an ingredient in to it like fruit, it rapidly cools the cup and then it can shatter. Please don't try this again in the microwave!

Hey Naomi, a cooking tip is that you can spray a little bit of water on your bread/donuts next time before you start baking in the air fryer, it creates a bit of steam so that’s it’s crispy yet moist on the inside. You can give it a try next time!

People need to stop calling snacks like the peanut butter thing "healthy". It is without any refined sugar and "all natural" but it tastes bomb because it has a lot a lot of sugar and fat. I was super shocked she thought it was healthy because absolutely no ingredient in there was. dates are crazy high in sugar, peanut butter is enormously calorie dense, and dark chocolate is still not 'good' for you unless it's a high percentage of cacao and eaten in a small portion. it's frustrating how many misconceptions around healthy eating are still so prevalent.
For the Best broccoli recipe i have it! Take a full head of broccoli, put it in a bowl, add garlic cloves to the top and butter as much butter as you want. I use two full sticks of butter. Wrap in plastic wrap the bowl and put in microwave for about 10-15 mins. Or use oven if you want to get it crispy

I personally don't like it with banana since we make big batches to eat over multiple days and the banana can get a bad texture imo. The way the pudding mixture softens the cookies into a sort of cakey thing over time is just sooo good. I'm from the southern part of the US which is where I always assumed it was from but I don't know.
My grandma was from Kentucky and she would make it with the meringue on top and bake it. I know some people are vehemently against hot banana pudding but we’d eat it hot the night she made it and the leftovers cold. I have such fond memories of eating her banana pudding

Omg Naomi, you were so lucky with the melted sugar thing. So many people have ended up in hospital, because to heat sugar to the temperature that is needed to caramelise it you need to use a metal container and since you can't put metal in the microwave, you have to melt sugar on the hob. Although what you were using was microwave safe, caramelising sugar takes them way above the temperature that they're made for. Also, when you add an ingredient in to it like fruit, it rapidly cools the cup and then it can shatter. Please don't try this again in the microwave!

I'm so glad you guys didn't get seriously hurt by doing it. There's a reason they say to always be cautious when cooking with molten sugar and to use the correct cooking method/ equipment! Some things just should not be hacked!

the rainbow cake/cookies are an italian-american creation from the early immigrants who settled in america from italy. its original flavor is exactly that: almond with jam & a chocolate coating. very delicious ! & yes the colors are like an homage to the flag but just a smidge off lol 🇮🇹

Edit: oh baby banana pudding is a southern thing. It's a southern staple. The 3 ingredient cake is normally called a dump cake and it's not trolling. We use to make dump cakes with canned fruit and 7up. It's really good

People need to stop calling snacks like the peanut butter thing "healthy". It is without any refined sugar and "all natural" but it tastes bomb because it has a lot a lot of sugar and fat. However, they are in fact healthier than normals fats I suppose. But calling them healthy still rubs me the wrong way.
I was just about to say this lol... I was super shocked she thought it was healthy because absolutely no ingredient in there was. dates are crazy high in sugar, peanut butter is enormously calorie dense, and dark chocolate is still not 'good' for you unless it's a high percentage of cacao and eaten in a small portion. it's frustrating how many misconceptions around healthy eating are still so prevalent.

For the Best broccoli recipe i have it!
Take a full head of broccoli, put it in a bowl, add garlic cloves to the top and butter as much butter as you want. I use two full sticks of butter. Wrap in plastic wrap the bowl and put in microwave for about 10-15 mins. Or use oven if you want to get it crispy
