Man I love this game. Dude makes it on the staff on the last day of spring training, only has 7 career starts, and throws a no hitter in his first appearance of 24’. This game is the best. It’s impossible to not be romantic about baseball. Also, for all MLB The Show fans, let’s go taunt kevin with this. 😂
What's most incredible about this performance to me is that barely any tough defense plays were needed. When someone you've never heard of gets a no hitter, 9 times out of 10 it requires some pretty incredible defense and batted ball luck. Not here, the most unlikely out was the IKF lineout at 1:02, it had an expected batting average of just .490. The odds of all 20 batted balls winding up outs was 5.5%, which might sound low, but is absolutely fantastic for a no hitter (For context in Tyler Gilberts debut no hitter there was a 0.011% chance of all batted balls resulting in outs). Really stellar job from Blanco.

I watched this whole game live. A no hitter was in the back of my mind the whole time, but I figured his pitch count was gonna be too high. He really did a good job of reeling it back in and controlling the pitch count

There was a runner on 1B, and he grounded into a fielder's choice. Personally, I think it should have been an error on Abreu as well, because the throw should have been handled. Either way, it's not a hit.

In the first it was a 5 pitch walk. A walk is where the pitcher throws 4 balls in one AB. The difference between a perfect game and a no-hitter is in a no hitter your allowed errors or walks for batters to get on base, but in a perfect game they cannot get on base at all, thus making it a whole lot more rare. Hope this cleared it up for you.
Not taking anything away from Blanco, but how do the Jays expect to contend with that lineup? Clement, Kiermaier, IKF and Biggio are automatic outs. Almost half the lineup can't hit. lol

Think of all the absolute stud hitters we let go in last 3 years and replace them with really average or below average hitters. Right now .196 team batting average. I believe that the No Hitter rules should be changed. Why is it still considered a no-hitter if a player HITS the ball. New Rule should be - Once a batter makes ANY contact with the ball in fair play, A pitcher loses his No-Hitter status.

Galarraga's near perfect game had several crazy defensive plays which made the missed call by Joyce even more painful.
