kkaeb SONG they don't have hundreds of idols, it's not about fairness that much, but about overloading their schedules to the point of them getting sick and fainting.
Emujin Zolbayar actually they do. Not like hundreds by almost thousands, but definitely like almost or about 200 of them. Youd be surprise how many artists debuted today was from SM but left, change company or gave up overall.
Emujin Zolbayar SM has noticeably gotten better with their idols. All idols have overloaded schedules. Have you seen how packed smaller companies make their rookie groups schedules? SM artists are treated well on a standard of how all other companies treat their idols. Even though it can be unhealthy and I don’t support it, all companies give their idols packed schedules, not just sm.
Really disappointing their velvet side didn't take off in Korea as much as the Red side did because I think those tracks showcase their talents so well
MixerAnd아미 _ Black Pink is more hip hop, still unlike RV's Velvet side. They're doing similar stuff with 2NE1 but cuter and softer. 2NE1 will never shout "Oppa!" in their songs 😂😂
Actually, 'One of These Nights' MV is content about victims of Sewol ferry. Each scenes symbolize that victims had died and hope to meet their families in heaven. Also One of These Nights' Korean title is July 7. July 7 is the meeting day of the two love-stars(the Altair and the Vega) in Korean folk tale. So Red Velvet used this metaphor to cherish the memory of victims.
If you think about it Red Velvet as we know it has a lot to do with the Sewol tragedy. Red Velvet was gonna Debut in 2015 but because of the tragedy SM wanted to release a song to cheer people up so they had Red Velvet Debut with Happiness. Yeri Didn’t Debut with them because she was 15 and it would have been hard for her to promote because of Child Labor Laws.
I'm kinda disappointed that Umu didn't bring up the really important concept of One of These Nights which is the Sewol Ferry Incident. The video's motifs and theme was that about the tragedy. Yeri is in the same age group of those students from the incident, and so she doesn't escape the water. It made me appreciate the video so much more. At the time, I was very affected by the incident, as so many young people were lost due to an adult's poor and greedy decision. Idk, I feel like Umu leaves out a lot of important context to different Kpop songs, maybe due to being in the fandom for not very long. Perhaps you can do more research in case a song/video has really important background context? I'm so glad everyone liked the song though. Red Velvet is my favourite girl group and this is one of the reasons why. :)
Definitely. Also, the background of the lyrics themselves - a lot of their criticisms were that the song "doesn't go anywhere" or "keeps coming back to the same place". If you know that the song is sung from the perspective of an immortal who is basically stuck in time and only lives/sees their partner once a year that makes sense. It's a stylistic choice.
That's my thoughts too. They are commenting about the cool visuals but if only they know the backstory they would appreciate it even more (even tho they're there to comment mainly on the music)
but I really wish they knew the true meaning of ootn lyrics and mv tho. when I knew about the theory I appreciate the song even more and got more emotional everytime I listen to this masterpiece. the mv too is really eyes pleasing and also delivers the story of the song really well. they really are on the top of kpop ggs out there. musically and visually.
hope they make reactions to HAPPINESS, RUSSIAN ROULETTE, ROOKIE, RED FLAVOR & future Red Velvet Songs because these girls are amazing talented vocally & visually ! a very worth girl group to stan ^_^
Okay. Why i like all of their reaction is because they didn't comment "Oh, this one girl is pretty" or "Oh this girl is cute", but they comment their music and sometimes their music video which is make anyone who's watching their reaction be like "Wow, yeah! Red velvet music is freaking good!!" And thank you for that.
FINALLY! "One of These Nights" is one of my favorite Kpop songs, and has one of the best MVs as well. I'm so glad they seemed to love it as much as I do
"they are top contenders on both genre" "I can't choose because both are awesome" "they are the top girl group" "i like this but I also like the other one" "best kpop song I've listened so far" I'm so glad that these musicians knows what is the real thing. look at them liking both songs and the fact that they find it hard to choose which one is better makes me emotional. 😭😍 red velvet did that 💞 ps if only they knew the meaning of ootn, they would surely appreciate the music more. (but I'm glad they appreciated it even w/o knowing the meaning 💗)
Melissa Rose Gonzalez They aren't my bias group but I can easily say they are one of the most consistently good groups in kpop. I've love their music since their debut. I even loved Rookie even though people complianed about. I'm not a fan of their most recent title track but I still liked the b-sides so they have never let me down.
It is believed that OOTN is produced in memory of the Sewol Ferry tragedy in 2014(?), the ferry was severely overload and eventually leading to the death of 300+ high school students. It is really heartbreaking because they were supposed to be happily going on a trip, but never returned. In the MV you can find a lot of details - being on a boat (2:05), the interior of a ferry (4:34), being soaked in water because the ferry is sinking (3:54), window broken due to increased water pressure (4:08), image of a keyhole and the symbolism of being locked up/nowhere to escape (4:13) and objects floating in the air(water) as they're underwater (4:29)...and so much more
"this group can be reigning champions of both styles and genres" Me: Yass. YASS FAM YASSSSS- Me: **rembers the entire The Velvet album getting thrown under the bus and completely ignored by SM** Me: **suddenly becomes very salty**
their company promoted "velvet" album less not like the "red" side which always promote more by SME . anyway these girls are rising on top girl group right now, talented vocally good at dancing and visually beautiful girls
i mean i get why it's bitter the velvet side won't be a focal point anymore but the era really hindered the girls' trajectory and the girls' own mental health :( i know it should be for the art and not for the charts but it's a smart decision to keep the velvet tracks as (amazing) b-sides since the public has shown they don't really care about it (it hurts but the numbers don't lie)
They should know that One Of These Nights was a tribute to all the people who died and survived during the Sewol incident. the video was supposed to show of how many people died and the few who did, I think it was Irene, Seulgi,Wendy and Yeri who died in the video and Joy was the one who survived showing what happened.
INTELLECTUALS!! RV's Velvet side really needs more love and support! Since it tends to be slower, people don't pay much attention to it. It's seriously such great songs and I hope that people give it a chance. Thank you for the reactions!! can't wait for them to be like"wtf" with rookie LOL but I hope they also appreciate the great instrumentation for it despite the repetitive chorus :D
word. I hated Rookie because of the vocals, but it has one of the best RV instrumentals. Honestly their first Velvet releases were all great but the latest was very ballad-y and not really RV which is why I think it flopped so hard, and I personally didn't enjoy it that much musically, but I agree that their softer more sensual side is underrated.
Ly Leroy why the vocals? Is it the way they say rookie so many times? (Btw rookie is really hard to.sing since it is really high all the time and the harmonies 😍😍😍)
Tamara Bc RVs vocals are usually ACE it’s just I think the way they made them deliver it (you know talk rapping) wasn’t good and ruined the song for me. The chorus sounded annoying, the lyrics weren’t great either. Kind of devastating cause I thought the song had way more potential and then it fell flat. But as I said loved the choreo and the instrumentals 🙌
Goes to show how great Red Velvet delivers both Red and Velvet sides which is super great because they're probably one of the VERY FEW groups who can own hugely different concepts like the versatile queens they are. GIVE THEM THE APPRECIATION THEY DESERVE.
Red Velvet has the highest song quality ever. Each of their songs are at top notch quality, you can really differentiate their songs and other girl groups' songs. Red Velvet is freaking awesome.
Sadly, they don't get the recognition they deserve. Red Velvet will be one of those groups that will be deeply missed and appreciated once they're gone.
Even 2 years later, this holds true. rvstill got such HIGH quality songs with Psycho being their latest title track. And I hope they win their first Daesang (Song of the Year) with this one, because they are currently the idol's with the highest digital sales in Korea. I can't have Red Velvet not win at least one in their career without such recognition.
Definitely felt like one of these nights shouldve been explained, it really connected with musical elements they noticed. Especially when one explained tha i was like going around left corners and always finding something new but it was still the same. I imagine that's what the ferry victims felt :( I still tear up at the song every time it plays.
Red Velvet is the most accomplished girl group music and concept wise in this generation, they have created a diverse catalogue tackling different genres and even creating completely new ones. Amazing, fun, tasteful music with soul and meaning!
Alfredo Saavedra yes! As a profissional, I can say they are far above other kpop groups. Their composers are amazing, and they hold this responsibility with vocals and talent. And when I see other professionals recognizing I feel like... I Stan right lol
This first song and the mv is about/for the Sewol Ferry victims (the students who died because of the sinking of their ferry that they used for an educational trip or something) that's why it's so suttle, sad, and emotional.
Red velvet's song is really different from the others. They should be more appreciated. They're not mainstream and keeps on exploring. Only few kpop groups can do that. Their songs are classy and always has a new taste therefore, not all listeners can appreciate that because they prefer catchy songs. If you have a classy and music minded person, red velvet is for you. #reigning in both genres
One of these nights was a homage to the Sewol Ferry Incident. And some Reveluvs have suspected that Dumb Dumb is SM's way of poking fun at the haters who say their idol groups are manufactured. Edit: There are a few other Kpop MVs which are said to reference the Sewol Ferry Incident like BTS's Spring Day & F(x)'s Red Light. Out of these 3, the only one confirmed was Red Light. Also the Dumb Dumb theory is old & probably wrong. But personally, i believe people can interpret an MV however they want. There will probably never be a definite answer.
Alice Kim Thank you so much! Finally there is someone talk about the Sewol Ferry Incident. A lot of people don't know that. And it was not only this MV but BTS' “Spring day” was also talking about this accident .
Alice Kim yupp so it makes ense that the song is like in a standstill. where it doesnt like have an end. because it's reimagining what the victims went through while they were trapped
Jarosław Puchacki why would you ever wish something like that on someone??? You're a terrible excuse for a human being and a piss poor Reveluv. RV would be ashamed.
One of these nights is actually SM making a (not so) subtle jab at gov regarding the sewol ferry incident and also pays tribute to the victims. They released the songs late and people were so angry about it. If u feel angry about the late music release, can u imagine the anger and sadness of the parents of the children who died in that incident because of the crews selfishness and also the delayed rescue missions? As for the video and lyric interpretation....i hope you'll find a chance to explain it to them soon! It's a very meaningful song and the song that ultimately turned me into a loyal af ReVelLuv
That's what I thought when the guy said the melody sort of went nowhere and that it needed to tell a story lol I was like "BUT THAT *IS* THE STORY AND THE CONCEPT"
People having a hard time deciding a song from Red Velvet and being SLAYED BY TWO DIFFERENT GENRES is my biggest kink. I love people appreciating Red Velvet AND OMG INTW IS COMING NEXT I'M DONE I LOVE THIS CHANNEL.
I also love the fact that they appreciate OOTN since a lot intl kpop and korean fans didn't liked it even tho is rv's best song for me. What a nice day is this one
Seeing them having difficulties to choose their favourite because both are SO GOOD makes me SO HAPPY oh my gosh!!! I've been waiting for days for this reaction and I knew Red Velvet will not disappoint!! Edit: For those who wish to know the details and connections between OOTN MV and Sewol ferry tragedy: It is believed that OOTN is produced in memory of the Sewol Ferry tragedy in 2014(?), the ferry was severely overload and eventually leading to the death of 300+ high school students. It is really heartbreaking because they were supposed to be happily going on a trip, but never returned. In the MV you can find a lot of details - being on a boat (2:05), the interior of a ferry (4:34), being soaked in water because the ferry is sinking (3:54), window broken due to increased water pressure (4:08), image of a keyhole and the symbolism of being locked up/nowhere to escape (4:13) and objects floating in the air(water) as they're underwater (4:29)...and so much more.
Exactly what i thought when i heard the song for the 1st time. The song is so complex & well-produced. The reason why it flopped hard is the song's too good for kpop's standards
Baekhyun & Seulgi stan Yeah, technically it might not flopped, but I'm afraid that would make SM rethink on the musical direction of RV, thus probably making less 'velvet' side songs which we all know and love
They finally reacted to it! Red Velvet KILLED it this year but they still don't get the praise they deserve. I've been following them since day 1 and that you guys see how talented they are means a lot to me. Rookie, Russian Roulette and Red Flavor next please
I was smiling through the entire video. I'm so glad people are appreciating not only their Red side but their Velvet side. I agree, OOTN is such an intelligent song. When I first listened to it, my eyes were closed but I kept on opening them out of surprise because of the unpredictable elements they put in. Red Velvet may not be the most popular girl group but they're slowly getting there. As a Reveluv, it really makes me proud. 💕
Although Gwen and Hugo(King and Queen) thought the vocals for OOTN was underwhelming, I thought they were beautiful and absolutely perfect for this song. The vocals held a certain fragility and softness that didn't over power the background instrumentals. They both instead balanced each other and supported equally.
Red Velvet IS the best girl group of the 3rd generation overall. I mean, they're not no. 1 in the aspects of girl groups individually (e.g. singing, dancing, visuals, etc.) But overall, they're the best. Vocally, Mamamoo is 1st and Red Velvet comes second. Choreography-wise, Gfriend is first and Red Velvet comes second. Visually, Blackpink, then Red Velvet. Performance-wise, Mamamoo then Red Velvet. Promotion-wise, Twice then Red Velvet. BUT because they come second in ALL aspects, they become the best girl group overall. I'm not hating them by saying they come second per aspect. It's actually their strength.
visually they're number 1 although everyone can have their own opinion, and although mamamoo is a better girlgroup vocally overall but wendy is better than all of mamamoo's member.
Aj B no, I have to strongly disagree they don't create the most or the best kpop idols. There are many groups with so much better songs but sm has a strong marketing which makes you think they are the best but they really are not.
Moonlight L I understand, but from my perspective SM is the most influential company and same goes with their artist. Its true that many other kpop groups from other company are good as well, but as you said their marketing is powerful and I think, although its just my opinion, marketing in kpop is everything. Sure, other groups are great, but without enough marketing no one will ever notice them, which is a sad fact.
I agree with you so much! Maybe it is because of the earphones they are using to listen to the song. In my studio headphones, there is a lot of layering going on with their vocals.
i think it’s a personal preference. i think she just prefers a lot of riffs and belts and high notes and such, while one of these nights don’t have a lot of that. so it really depends!
Red Velvet has been my favorite girl group and I m really glad that RV is getting the praises they deserve in this video, RV is really talented, they deserve all the love in the world, With RV u would never know what to expect, and every comeback I see myself falling in love with them everytime
RED VELVET IS THE MOST VERSATILE KPOP GROUP IN THIS GENERATION RIGHT NOW. AND THERE'S A RUMOR GOING AROUND THAT THEY WILL CB WITH THEIR VELVET SIDE FOR WINTER
Besides title songs with MVs, I think sometimes you should give it a try to react to b-side songs. Red Velvet's b-side songs are all amazing. Their 1st album "The Red" is literally on fire. I personally recommend "The Red" album (cause all of the songs are jams) and Zoo and Hear The Sea from "The Red Summer" - their newest mini album. Zoo is a legend though. Its texture is incredible. That tropical house song is the best for this summer.
One of These Nights is not a B-side. It's the title from "The Velvet" which was a mini-Album. And Be Natural was more like...a follow up single after Happiness. In any case, The Red is fantastic. I basically had it on repeat for some time. I also really like Body Talk from Rookie and Light Me Up and Cool Hot Sweet Love from The Velvet.
What I love about RV? Give them any concept and they'll slay it. Sometimes it makes me happy how SM isnt scared of trying new genres in their girl groups
Melissa Crest it was indeed unpredictable and makes you wonder "where is this song taking me" coz like what Hugo said they've done many modulations to the song
11:00 is so funny to me bc the guy on the left is so passionately explaining the audio trick red velvet is using but the guy on the right is just straight up vibing. i love it.
One of these Nights is one of my favorite k-pop songs. Sadly, it was greatly under appreciated by many during its release and was seen as a step in the wrong direction because of lower sales compared to their Red side title tracks. Its lyrics was telling a story (from a Korean folklore) of two separated lovers that meet once a year every 7th day of the 7th month (I cried) and some fans theorized that the MV was an unofficial tribute to the Sewol Ferry Disaster (I cried some more.) It's been a while since I've seen the reactors so alive and torn between 2 songs from a group. I'm so happy RV songs got so much love from the them. Thanks so much Umu for adding OOTN and Dumb dumb to the list! I think I see future Reveluvs. PS: 10:44 I think Jarod was pertaining to the Shepard tone here PPS: 0:43 Yes, seeing "Harmony" usually does that to people ; )
People mostly overlooked the goodness of the velvet side. Too bad. Please tell me I'm not the only one who's obsessed with RV's velvet side as much as their Red side. ♥
"One of These Nights" is one of the greatest songs is because it actually ironically talks about a tragic accident due to the stupid politician's decision, thousands of children they could have saved but none of them survive. No Kpop music shows such kind of deep thought but Red Velvet
Oh my god! RV is my favorit I-dol group and these songs are my favorit songs..... 'One of these night' is very interesting song. Because the musicvideo is include the accident of '세월호(I don't know how to say it in English:( sewol-ship???)'. It is terrible accident of I never seen before, and it caused hundreds of deaths. Most of the victims were high school students, because the captain of the ship ran away and said, 'You stay here'. The song 'One of these year' musicvideo is includ it. So I love it. And 'dumb dumb!!!!!!!!' Really I love it. I like the color of the musicvideo, the funny mood, and I like lyrics! This album was released in 2015, but it is still my favorite red velvet song. Thank you for posting this video. I love you♡ (I'm Korean and I can't English very well :( sorry.)
Well SME gets all the best song producers around the globe for Red Velvet, which gives them a unique feel for every every album they release. Honestly, I find Red Velvet's discography a great listening experience(same for Mamamoo, AKMU, Shinee, and Taeyeon), they contain less filler songs and I can listen to them straight from top to bottom without skipping a song. Music video-wise, Red Velvet also has the best concepts for their music videos, which gives them a signature feel you can only experience from them.
Red Velvet have tons of velvet songs in their albums as B-sides, and their 2 station releases are velvet side. Their album photobooks look like a mixture of red and velvet too (despite the title tracks being pure red), people need to stop acting like the velvet side is completely gone. Sadly Red Velvet wont make a velvet song a title again at least not for a good time because they need to stablish themselves and the public dont dig it.
They r now not doin seperate red or velvet now all their albums are both red and velvet check out their stations and some of the songs from their new albums they arent full velvet or red but mixed and some r more red and velvet
Very well put Henry at 3:06, the lyrics of this song is telling about how they will always remembers the tragedy and its victims like they will meet them again in their dreams, so yeah it makes sense if u feel like its always a turn left and it comes back to the same place cause One of These Nights is a reminisence of the Sewol Tragedy
To the guy who love One of these nights please check out more velvet songs like Light me up, a cool Hot Sweet Love, Talk to Me, Body Talk Also it made me so happy that they talked about red velvets amazing harmonization and they complimented all of Wendy's runs and Adlibs ♥️
of course haha wendy vocals are one of the best this generation and she makes it seem so easy but when they preform live with choreo plus the harmanization with seulgi's vocals and the other supporting members is just amazing. Yayy my man ben thanks for focusing on the masterpeice that is OOTN that never got the love it deserved lol
SM have the best musical projects. I'm not talking about aesthetics, beauty and dance, just music. C'MON! They are incredible! All of the artists are amazing there!
FINALLY! THIS,THIS is the reaction I'm waiting for. I can finally see a community that appreciates the velvet side musically. Gosh, all this time with people liking mainstream genres I don't feel any sense of true belonging because they don't understand how crazy modulations, moods, chord progressions and voicings the velvet side has! Thank you fellow musicians! RESPECT!
one of these nights is really underappreciated by kpop fans
Internationally yeah but korean loves it at leat when it was released
Which K-pop fan because this is one of my favorite Velvet side songs
I think the main reason why the mv has less views than other of their mvs is the mv was actually refering to a tragedy of The Sewol Ferry Disaster
Argonaut Jupiter Same! I really wish they showed more of the “velvet” side of Red Velvet!
I love and hate this song at the same time.
Love it because of its quality
Hate it because of I have a friend who drown
I feel like they really like most of SM's songs. Hate SM all you want but you can't deny that they produce the most unique sounds in Kpop.
Shimme Shimme Ko Ko Bop SM is truly amazing but fucking stupid with their artists.
kkaeb SONG they don't have hundreds of idols, it's not about fairness that much, but about overloading their schedules to the point of them getting sick and fainting.
Emujin Zolbayar actually they do. Not like hundreds by almost thousands, but definitely like almost or about 200 of them.

The most unique ? What are you talking about, Hyukoh alone has more unique vibe than all their group. They just do normal kpop how are they unique
Other people: “YO DID YOU SEE THAT LAST SCENE?!”
The classical musicians: “DID YOU HEAR THAT CHORD?!”
can't relate 😂😭
Really disappointing their velvet side didn't take off in Korea as much as the Red side did because I think those tracks showcase their talents so well
Maybe Korean fans are only into the cute/bold/catchy stuff. That's why groups like Twice rules so hard
Ihsan Tria Pramanda but what about Blackpink tho?
MixerAnd아미 _ Black Pink is more hip hop, still unlike RV's Velvet side. They're doing similar stuff with 2NE1 but cuter and softer. 2NE1 will never shout "Oppa!" in their songs 😂😂
Ikr This album is my favourite among all of redvel albums :")
Ihsan Tria Pramanda The song wasn't as good.
Actually, 'One of These Nights' MV is content about victims of Sewol ferry. Each scenes symbolize that victims had died and hope to meet their families in heaven. Actually it's not necessarily July 7th, ut it's 7th month 7th day, since Korea uses the lunar calendar.
Damn I didn’t know this, thank you for this information

sadly rv themselves denied thats theory....

They are not that type of group. Their concept is different from groups like f(x) or blackpink. They have more girly and feminine style

Red velvet is literally THE most versatile girl group in kpop right now. Both red and velvet side is just beyond amazing
RED VELVET can slay differents concepts among girl groups right now
So fucking true. The only girl group that can compare is Loona, but they haven't officially debuted yet
I'd also put mamamoo up there in terms of versatility

It is believed that OOTN is produced in memory of the Sewol Ferry tragedy in 2014(?), the ferry was severely overload and eventually leading to the death of 300+ high school students. It is really heartbreaking because they were supposed to be happily going on a trip, but never returned. In the MV you can find a lot of details - being on a boat (2:05), the interior of a ferry (4:34), being soaked in water because the ferry is sinking (3:54), window broken due to increased water pressure (4:08), image of a keyhole and the symbolism of being locked up/nowhere to escape (4:13) and objects floating in the air(water) as they're underwater (4:29)...and so much more
"this group can be reigning champions of both styles and genres"
Me: Yass. YASS FAM YASSSSS-
Me: **rembers the entire The Velvet album getting thrown under the bus and completely ignored by SM**
Me: **suddenly becomes very salty**
EverTriedDrawing4Once how did it get thrown under the bus? Genuinely curious.
EverTriedDrawing4Once you are me lol
Sam Jiang same. how?
their company promoted "velvet" album less not like the "red" side which always promote more by SME . anyway these girls are rising on top girl group right now, talented vocally good at dancing and visually beautiful girls
i mean i get why it's bitter the velvet side won't be a focal point anymore but the era really hindered the girls' trajectory and the girls' own mental health :( i know it should be for the art and not for the charts but it's a smart decision to keep the velvet tracks as (amazing) b-sides since the public has shown they don't really care about it (it hurts but the numbers don't lie)
They should know that One Of These Nights was a tribute to all the people who died and survived during the Sewol incident.
the video was supposed to show of how many people died and the few who did, I think it was Irene, Seulgi,Wendy and Yeri who died in the video and Joy was the one who survived showing what happened.

RED VELVET *Q* *U* *E* *E* *N* *S*
red velvet the queen of concepts just like their legendary sunbaenims snsd

INTELLECTUALS!! RV's Velvet side really needs more love and support! Since it tends to be slower, people don't pay much attention to it. It's seriously such great songs and I hope that people give it a chance.
Thank you for the reactions!! can't wait for them to be like"wtf" with rookie LOL but I hope they also appreciate the great instrumentation for it despite the repetitive chorus :D
OMG i need to watch them react to rookie soooo much
Zeru Desu they also have a good voice, thats why i really love them
"CONTENDER FOR TOP GROUP FOR ME"
"THIS GROUP IS REINING CHAMPION OF BOTH GENRE"
😍😍😍😍😍
Goes to show how great Red Velvet delivers both Red and Velvet sides which is super great because they're probably one of the VERY FEW groups who can own hugely different concepts like the versatile queens they are.
GIVE THEM THE APPRECIATION THEY DESERVE.
L. Hasna like their sisters snsd and f(x)
Gabriel Lewis Ouch that hurt
Red Velvet is the most accomplished girl group music and concept wise in this generation, they have created a diverse catalogue tackling different genres and even creating completely new ones. Amazing, fun, tasteful music with soul and meaning!
Twice says hi
yo let's not fight, if you think another group is better go ask for it or comment in said video
red velvet has the best concept they pretty much do a little bit of everything
I think Red Velvet is a more polished version of F(x)
Literally red velvet is nothing like F(x) its so weird to still people compare them when their music, concepts, styles are nothing alike.
Ladies and gentlemen that is why you stan Red Velvet. Finally they are getting the musical appreciation they deserve.
🎗️🎗️🎗️🎗️🎗️🎗️🎗️
One of these Nights is not only one of my favorite kpop song but it's one of my favorite songs overall.
_renzopaulo 12 I would like to say red velvet remind me of snsd who always exploring new concept instead of stick with one concept.
Girl: This group can just be like reigning champions of styles and genre.
Me:Agree. They are queens.
Alice Kim yupp so it makes ense that the song is like in a standstill. where it doesnt like have an end. because it's reimagining what the victims went through while they were trapped
oh wow interesting for dumb dumb theory haha
i thought spring day was about a movie?
Qian Mint I was just about to write the same thing!
Qian Mint wow this is so jnteresting to know!
its not a subtle jab but kind of a tribute
That's what I thought when the guy said the melody sort of went nowhere and that it needed to tell a story lol I was like "BUT THAT *IS* THE STORY AND THE CONCEPT"
Qian Mint ootn is actually famous tale in korea
They need to react to peekaboo and bad/rude boy (??)
sheenyeo rude boy is mamamoo
LMAOOOOO RUDE BOY 😭
ᴿᵁᴰᴱ ᴮᴼᵞ ᴴᴬᴴᴬᴴᴬᴴ
Lmao
It's Bad Boy 😂😂😂
People having a hard time deciding a song from Red Velvet and being SLAYED BY TWO DIFFERENT GENRES is my biggest kink.
I love people appreciating Red Velvet AND OMG INTW IS COMING NEXT I'M DONE I LOVE THIS CHANNEL.
I also love the fact that they appreciate OOTN since a lot intl kpop and korean fans didn't liked it even tho is rv's best song for me. What a nice day is this one
YOU KMOW A GROUP ROCKS WHEN HENRY FREAKS OUT FOR BOTH
IM SO HAPPY THAT THEY LOVE RED VELVET OMGG
10:46 sends me because the guy on the left is doing all this technical explaining and the guy on the right is just getting down
lmao i see that
the guy explaining is so hot, also, the way he knew things like that is also so hot
I was waiting for someone to comment this honestly😂😂
And the emotional Into The New World Intro !!!!
Little Little ikr 😃
I know...Into The New World! TT
Little Little same hereeeeeeeeeeeee ahahaha so happy!!!!!
Wait until Henry sees that there is basically 10 different versions of One Of These Nights on the mini album
I found them comment on music technique on SM's songs way more than others. Is it because SM music is so different?
Exactly what i thought when i heard the song for the 1st time. The song is so complex & well-produced. The reason why it flopped hard is the song's too good for kpop's standards
SO TRUE!
RV music is too advanced for the taste of the masses
J D it didn't flop though. It didn't do as good as their other songs, but it definitely didn't flop
Baekhyun & Seulgi stan Yeah, technically it might not flopped, but I'm afraid that would make SM rethink on the musical direction of RV, thus probably making less 'velvet' side songs which we all know and love
J D couldn't agree more😅😅
also one of these nights was made in memory of the sewol accident!
It's the most popular theory, but it's also one that's been fully discredited.
cowkieller The actual inspiration was actually a Chinese love story about the 7th Day of the 7th Month of the lunar calendar. Hence the title *7월 7일*
Thank you, that was the theory I wanted to mention but forgot what it was.
Why do people keep saying that, they said already that it's not true.
Feathers The actual song isn't, but the video is i think
They finally reacted to it! Red Velvet KILLED it this year but they still don't get the praise they deserve. I've been following them since day 1 and that you guys see how talented they are means a lot to me. Rookie, Russian Roulette and Red Flavor next please
hallo9062 Ive been with them since Happiness too! Im gonna keep on supporting them. They will get there, I know it
they didnt get what they deserves cause their agency is bad for their promotion, SM just love their boygroups tho
One Of These Nights is my favorite Red Velvet song but not a lot of kpop fans like it for being a slow song. I'm glad they really appreciated it.
my favorite +1 the best song ever
Although Gwen and Hugo(King and Queen) thought the vocals for OOTN was underwhelming, I thought they were beautiful and absolutely perfect for this song. The vocals held a certain fragility and softness that didn't over power the background instrumentals. They both instead balanced each other and supported equally.
I Agree
im always having goosebumps whenever i hear one of these nights
WINWINnie The Pooh same
honestly *dumb dumb* is what goes through my mind in *every* class
Visually I prefer Red Velvet
TOTALLY AGREE
They're for sure the most daring/experimental and for that alone I admire them so much.
visually they're number 1 although everyone can have their own opinion, and although mamamoo is a better girlgroup vocally overall but wendy is better than all of mamamoo's member.
Very well said
tbh, SM produces a lot of really good music! The true reason why SM grew into such a huge company
Yup. Their management is shitty but you cant deny that they ACTUALLY creates the most, if not, the best groups in kpop industry.
neko2412neko UR ICON THO! 😍 OH MY GIRL! MIRACLE HERE 🤗
Aj B no, I have to strongly disagree they don't create the most or the best kpop idols.
Sure, other groups are great, but without enough marketing no one will ever notice them, which is a sad fact.
sm have terrible marketing what are you talking about??? lmao look @ their scheduling of their groups' comebacks... sm produce great songs though.
LISTEN ONE OF THESE NIGHTS IS TGE MOST UNDERRARED RV SONG THE VOCALS THE MV THE SYMBOLISM IN THE MV THE CINNAMONTOGRAPHY
yassss rv getting that cinammontopography
That girl was wrong, those vocals are doing everything! This song has like their best vocals.
3:10, maybe it was their intention? Ending up in the same place, much like the theory suggests that the students could not get out of the ship? Idk
Honestly,,, yeah even the lyrics suggest being stuck in the same place.
I'm surprised no one is correcting you. They actually put out their red song before the velvet one.
dumb dumb (2015)
ootn (2016)
jannah __ well because umu already corrected herself before the video was posted (don rmb which one but in another video)
ShapleyYooEun mm i see, i didn't see that video tbh so
Besides title songs with MVs, I think sometimes you should give it a try to react to b-side songs.
I agree. They really should react to The Red. That's one of the best kpop albums I've ever heard
Pippidy JiKyu I change my username after listen THE RED album..hahha
I actually despise their side tracks for their recent album.. their best side tracks were natural, automatic and one of those nights
Pippidy JiKyu I personally love Mojito too, though :D
What I love about RV? Give them any concept and they'll slay it. Sometimes it makes me happy how SM isnt scared of trying new genres in their girl groups
I think it's funny how some of them said "one of these nights" didn't go anywhere and then others said it was unpredictable. It all perception.
Melissa Crest it was indeed unpredictable and makes you wonder "where is this song taking me" coz like what Hugo said they've done many modulations to the song
I was expecting them to not be that interested in ootn but he said it was his favorite 😭👌wow stan red velvet also I died when itnw played at the end
i love it when intellectuals appreciate the queens
one of these night is about the sad tragedy that happened to sewol ferry which kill +300 high school student
SM ent produces very good artist, and music but promotes bad. Well proud Reveluv here🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻 for musicians react to them 💕
11:00 is so funny to me bc the guy on the left is so passionately explaining the audio trick red velvet is using but the guy on the right is just straight up vibing. i love it.
"gay? fine by me" Omg Yunyi i want that😂😂😂😂
💖
Jarod describing what's happening with the music then there's Peyton jamming to the song.
7:03 "They get repetitive"
*Goes home and listens to This Is What You Came For by Rihanna*
[OB] me? Ikr delusional
Fax
I don't get how some of them said it was unexpected and going where they didn't predict, while they said it was repetitive. I don't understand.
Does that song repeat musically?
lol kinds didn't understand what they really want when that made the song good... i guess we are entitled with our own opinions
One of these Nights is one of my favorite k-pop songs. Sadly, it was greatly under appreciated by many during its release and was seen as a step in the wrong direction because of lower sales compared to their Red side title tracks. Its lyrics was telling a story (from a Korean folklore) of two separated lovers that meet once a year every 7th day of the 7th month (I cried) and some fans theorized that the MV was an unofficial tribute to the Sewol Ferry Disaster (I cried some more.)
It's been a while since I've seen the reactors so alive and torn between 2 songs from a group. I'm so happy RV songs got so much love from the them. Thanks so much Umu for adding OOTN and Dumb dumb to the list! I think I see future Reveluvs.
PS: 10:44 I think Jarod was pertaining to the Shepard tone here
PPS: 0:43 Yes, seeing "Harmony" usually does that to people ; )
People mostly overlooked the goodness of the velvet side.
Yunyi's words about Red Velvet should be continuously quoted and she deserves a plaque for those thanks
10:55 HE'S HAVING THE TIME OF HIS LIFE IM DONE
😂😂😂😂
Yoongi's minty hair HOMAYGHAD! HAHAHAHAHAHA Y'ALL SHOULD SEE THIS HAHAHAHA
Love for peyton~
11:35 These three people got SLAYED ^_^
Salvio Hexia wow.. Is your name one of the spells in Harry Potter??
I love you♡
(I'm Korean and I can't English very well :( sorry.)
🎗️🎗️🎗️🎗️🎗️🎗️🎗️
Well SME gets all the best song producers around the globe for Red Velvet, which gives them a unique feel for every every album they release. Honestly, I find Red Velvet's discography a great listening experience(same for Mamamoo, AKMU, Shinee, and Taeyeon), they contain less filler songs and I can listen to them straight from top to bottom without skipping a song. Music video-wise, Red Velvet also has the best concepts for their music videos, which gives them a signature feel you can only experience from them.
AllwaysKING right. One of great contributors was ldn and other European producers
The next one for rv should be Happiness vs Be Natural. Another high quality contender 😄😁😁
Ey And Peek-A-Boo vs Bad boy !
10:57 the guy is talking about the music and the other dude is just feelin it
Find yourself a girlgroup that can do both: Red Velvet.
David Dadoali true that
2ne1
2ne1? sorry but you have got to be joking right now lmao. And hi army lololol
David Dadoali red velvet did: THAT ✔
SUGE DON'T GIVE AFUCK That couldn't slay all the concepts RV can. But they're a great group.
HENRY IS SUCH AN INTELLECTUAL I LUV IT honestly it's one of my favs too as much as I love RV's "red" side I'd prefer their "velvet" side more
고급진 리뷰 감사합니다. 레벨이들 노래 퀄리티에 무릎 탁 치고갑니다
Red Velvet really need to come back with a Velvet concept PLS I KNOW SM DOESN'T WANT TO BUT--
Kaylah 케일라 I love their Velvet side songs, but they never do as well with the public as the cheerful Red side does, unfortunately
I want The Velvet Winter
That'd be great
Red Velvet have tons of velvet songs in their albums as B-sides, and their 2 station releases are velvet side.
Kaylah 케일라 would u was low-key Velvet
You should tell them about the story behind One of These Nights' music video.
dan dan I was thinking the same thing! I really hoped she would... but still a great video :)
dan dan i think she doesnt know lol
Very well put Henry at 3:06, the lyrics of this song is telling about how they will always remembers the tragedy and its victims like they will meet them again in their dreams, so yeah it makes sense if u feel like its always a turn left and it comes back to the same place cause One of These Nights is a reminisence of the Sewol Tragedy
I think that I liked the original video title. red vel dum dum dum
To the guy who love One of these nights please check out more velvet songs like Light me up, a cool Hot Sweet Love, Talk to Me, Body Talk
Also it made me so happy that they talked about red velvets amazing harmonization and they complimented all of Wendy's runs and Adlibs ♥️
darkfeather111 proud wannie stan haha. Yes. And that guy is Ben :) I love his reactions coz he legitimately focuses on the musical side
of course haha wendy vocals are one of the best this generation and she makes it seem so easy but when they preform live with choreo plus the harmanization with seulgi's vocals and the other supporting members is just amazing. Yayy my man ben thanks for focusing on the masterpeice that is OOTN that never got the love it deserved lol
darkfeather111 don't forget about Automatic and Be natural! Those are Velvet masterpiece
stewedpuppet isnt it henry and not ben?
darkfeather111 Body Talk is literally my favourite song ever!!!
*They belt so high*
yes.. Red velvet are vocal legends of third gen
Red Velvet is the BEST! Both musically and visually!
MidnightChocolateJustice yeezzz
agree
I'm gonna need 50 gifs of Kevin dancing at 3:20 by my desk tomorrow
keygurumi I always wait for the part where Kevin starts jamming in every reaction😆😂😂
keygurumi if your pro pic was my boss, I would get it by your desk this afternoon
keygurumi that's my aesthetic 😂😂
Red velvet was made for this channel because their dual concept makes the videos really polarized(?
Best reaction video this channel ever made so far. Okay maybe I'm just being biased. So happy that my girls are getting this kind of recognition.
IT'S REDVELVET!!! im so happy thankyouuu❤❤❤
That white girl with the blue shirt I wanna hear her sing since she said the vocals ain’t doing it for her
SM have the best musical projects. I'm not talking about aesthetics, beauty and dance, just music. C'MON! They are incredible! All of the artists are amazing there!
I'm so happy that this video released but i'm kinda sad cause i need to wait another months for another red velvet video 😅
john pineda For real
john pineda this comment tho!! i can relate fam
"It's like an optical illusion, but for your ear!!!"
...Sooo, you mean an auditory illusion? XD
RESPECT!
red velvet's harmonies in their songs are so amazing. even though would u isn't that musically complex, the harmonies in itself are worth praising.
kingdom come vs peek a boo would be lit
it's so fun seeing henry so torn between songs
