  • July 1, 2024, another perfect weather day, that lead me to Rock Run Landing at Susquehanna State Park. I learned about two trails that got my curiosity: the Rock Run and Land of Promise trail. During these hikes I saw so many old stone walls throughout the hike. There was also what appeared to be old foundation of some type. I also revisited the Historic Rock Run Mill, the Carter-Archer House, and the Jersey Toll House. Four years ago, July 2020, I did a video there, it’s BP13 under my channel. I hope you enjoy this vlog. And if any of you know anything about those many stone walls I saw, please post in the comments below

    Very beautiful and peaceful place! Also, loved the fact that you came upon that foundation. Always makes me wonder what was there 100 - 200 years ago. Great job!

    Paul and I went to this area during the pandemic and loved it! We hiked to the dam, but didn't continue on the trail beyond that, so I enjoyed following along as you hiked the loop. It's interesting how those stone walls/foundations are located high on the hillside. I'm curious, too, about their purpose. Nice vlog, Pete, on a beautiful day!

      @@jeanamreinwimmer4658 someone commented and said those stone walls could have been native, that’s a possibility. Some of those walls were high up on hills, I would be interested in finding out more about them. Thanks, Jean!✌️

    Those old rock walls were demarcating old homesteads, i guess. And some possibly quite ancient, maybe native.

      @beatlepete  Місяць тому +1

      @@bcbconklin that makes a lot of sense, because there were natives in the area at some time. Thanks for your comment! ✌️
