- I day tripped to Climbers Run in Pequea, PA in Lancaster County on Sunday, April 7. I hiked the cardio trail in search of what was left of a camp that used to be there. After a very steep hike (I learned quickly why it was called the cardio trail), I found what I was looking for.
The abandoned buildings and forgotten basketball court once belonged to the Boys and Girls Club of Lancaster, who built them in the early 1960s. At the time, the property was called Camp Snyder and was used as a youth summer camp until the late 2000s. Since then, some of the buildings have been demolished, but some remain, even though they were in poor shape. The basketball court was still there, which was very cool to see.
It was a perfect day for a hike. Enjoy✌️

It was a very steep hike, all uphill. Coming down was a lot easier lol. Yeah, I enjoy finding places like this that have ruins. I’ve got more on my list that I’ll be in search of. Thanks Walt! ✌️
From the gorgeous view you had at the top, it looks like the Cardio Trail gained quite an elevation as you made your way. I bet this camp was pretty nice, back in the day. Thanks for sharing your latest adventure! (I think, if you do change the name of your channel, you should somehow include "adventures" because we never know where you're going to be). Nice vlog of a peaceful area!
As you saw, that cardio trail was a pretty steep and a workout for me, but I enjoyed it and finding what was left of the camp, especially the basketball court. I agree, Jean.
