I expect this mower will last several seasons with decent care. ua-cam.com/users/postUgkx1VWTrayKBdCKAjzAcZ_Eg4dhHTae3LkN also recommend Also, I ran across the problem with it not starting the 2nd time I used it. There is a safety switch which is pushed in by the chute or mulching piece being attached to the deck. I took the cover off and it wouldn't start. Put it back on, no problem. It takes only a minute with 2 easily accessible wingnuts and no tools. This mower starts up first crank each time and it is a joy to use. It also mows in reverse by putting the key to the reverse area after starting and pushing in the triangular button. It will stay in reverse mode until you turn it off. All in all, for my homeowner needs, I really like this mower-and at 70 bucks a cut here in Miami, it's already more than 1/3 paid for itself in a month.
Nice mower. I got one just like it today. I’ve had a Husqvarna RZ5426 for the past 9 years and the thing still runs great but I’m moving and taking the new one with me and leaving the Husqvarna at my parents house so I can mow their grass with it. But I’m already in love with this Z515 E.
I e owned a 737 60, 445 54, 665 60, 540r 60 and now a 915e. Never a problem with anyone of them. It John Deere people! Now if I were a commercial mower I would probably get tired of the same old thing day in and day out however if you continue to keep trying new equipment then I would say your an expert in the buisiness, enjoy your new zeros
Good video, thanks. Looking at getting one of these here in September 2024 and they’re $5300 :-/.. I really want this over a z330r but that’s 1200 less… still more than the 515 was just a few years ago smh.
Nice,I got mt z530m 54" 3 weeks ago and I love it,I got mine from my local john deere dealer regular price was $4,899 but they give me a $200 off so after tax I pay $5,000
I bought the Z530M after a few times mowing my 2 acres . This is my opinion the Z530M is one rough riding mower. I bought the John Deere trying to save money . After having the mower a month . I went to John Deere and traded it in for a Z930M .
@@NicholsCountyI have the 2024 z530M and mines rides smooth. I moved up from the 3 series. I’m sure the higher you go up, it gets smoother. But i love mines
I bought the z530R 60 inch I was going to get it at lowes but decided to go to dealer. I went with a better warranty 600 hrs or 7 years. The biggest thing is for the next 7 years they will come get the mower for any warranty work and bring it back. Lowes, Home Depot won’t do that. The John Deere dealership warranty wasn’t much more than the lowes or Home Depot warrenty. Mine came with led lights and the rocking seat suspension.. I will have to find a after market canopy because John Deere does not have canopy’s for the Z500 models. I have seen some hard top canopy’s for 221.00 that mount to the rops.. I have a 24 hp Kawasaki. I found out that oil , filters and such are still cheaper at the John Deere dealership . Than home depot or lowes and even Walmart. Those Z 500 series are good mowers
The veterans discount will be very helpful...thanks. I only want a 48 inch deck not a 54 inch. I was hopeful that you could advise whether the body shell is metal or plastic and doe sit have the quick oil change widget...but I guess if there is any display at Lowes I could see that. I am disappointed that I can not locate a new OEM mower deck from JD for my 12 year old JD Z425 . This machine is very similar in specs to the Z515E....Not good that John Deere is not supporting the parts for its older machines. Nick
It's very hard to find a mower deck, even for newer mowers, if they sell the mower deck then less people will buy new mowers. It's pretty stupid, I looked into this myself. I'm not sure about the body shell, but anything that is green is metal, anything that is black is plastic. This machine has a normal oil filter and I would recommend not getting the easy change oil system. With this system you have to buy it from John Deere and its like $40 vs $10. Yeah it would probably save you 10 minutes every 50 engine hours, but I don't think it is necessary unless you absolutely need it.
Nope still on the original blades. But I only use this on nice flat lawn and pasture. I don't take it anywhere near the fence line where stumps could be.
I love my z530r it has a Kawasaki engine. Didn’t want a Briggs . Kawasaki is a lot easier on the gas. Purchase a 7 year warranty . All the transportation warrenty work free of charge. I recommend getting these mowers from a dealer rather than lowes or home depot. Just because of the free transportation from dealer. A lowes or home depot extended warrenty willnot do that.
Why the hell is the Z515E $5099 for a 60 in when I live just 45 minutes from the plant that builds the damn things then I read you all are paying up to 1,300 less for them. What the heeeeelllllll
@@NicholsCounty yeah, but its working ok now. i fiddled with the linkages of the handle bars. reached inside and pulled and pushed, and I dunno why it works like a dream now
@@broken_bones_acres What's so bad about them troll? I'd rather have a Kawasaki, but the Briggs els engine are as good if not better than kohler. This is an upper range homeowner mower and the engine suits its place in the lineup. I've got briggs engines that are 25 years old and run fine.

Yeah well you do need to service these from time to time.
I know in Texas it’s a 3 month delay to get a new mower from factory . It took a little over 3 months to get mine

my new z515 e broke after one hour. wont reverse. just spins in a circle. how am i supposed to deal with that? im going to return it. POS mower.
Stripes pretty nice
Love it really debating on getting a deere
Yeah I've never tried to strip a lawn before that. Actually I didn't even try on video, it just kind of happened.
What kind of gas the regular? Or mix ? Help me please
Regular.
Do you think this tractor is good for hills or slopes in yards !?
Not with those tires. You'd have to change your tires.
@@NicholsCounty what tires do I need exactly so I know before purchase to have them changed ? Thanks for the reply
@RichLifeGang I only use mine for my lawn. I have another mower I use and abuse on hills and edging. I'm sure it's not hard to find some tires.

Nice stripes. I’m wanting a Ferris but their so high. I like the price for John Deere. Surprised their not higher than what they are.
Yeah they're pretty affordable. I got 0% interest for 6 months with a lowes card as well.
Cheaply made. Stamped junk.
How has this mower been doing you after 2 years?
Great. Did a video a few months ago on some maintenance.
Did you have the striper kit installed on this?
No, this was straight from Lowes and this was the first time I ever used this mower.
What are the green bars on the back for
I'm sure what you're talking about.
The green bars are the ROPS system, or roll over protection system
Nice mower
Looks like you like the John Deer mower

I’m undecided between the “low end” 5 series vs “high end” 3 series…… z330r vs z515e
I can't speak for the 3 series, but I'm very happy with the Z515E.
How many acres do you mow per week with this mower?
5 acres every week.
