Thank you, Shelley. You've given me the courage I needed to try this. And thanks for mentioning the Turkish artist, Rukiye Garip. Her work is breathtaking.

Thank you so much for this wonderful lesson! You are a fantastic teacher and give great rationale and reasoning behind what and how to do something. This helps so much in understanding the process and techniques you are showing. I’ve learned so much from watching your lessons. I look forward, with much anticipation, to watching your live weekly. Again, thank you. ❤️

When you sketched the subject, I began to see the complexity and had no idea of how it could be accomplished. Masking is hard, and when I do it, it often looks like stark blobs, and takes so much effort to soften edges. The squiggly masked lines helped to bring shimmering movement to the water. Straight stroked lines would have perhaps caused the masking to look more like fur. One thought I had was to scrape to get the reflections, but trying to get the shimmering effect with scraping would be hard. In the end, it all came together and it is a nice painting. I hope I can recreate it! Thank you!

Thank you, for again, a great tutorial Shelley 😊 Please don’t feel to bad about the unexpected outcome regarding the effects caused by the masking fluid because that makes this tutorial extra useful, in the way that as students we can see what point our attention on AND also it’s kinda relief that also master pro’s bump into unexpected results. 😊

I think if you went In with a SLIGHTLY GRAY wash AROUND ALL OF THE ROCKS it would contrast with the brown cast shadows make it look even more realistic looking. You are so talented. I envy you.
