The question roughly to him was: "Do the lakers need to play near perfect basketball to win?"

Change has to be made. It's on Jeanie and the Lakers front office and Brass to be held accountable. Ham should not be a coach of a team that's trying to compete for championships. He's shown he's not at that level. From the inability to use timeouts, inability to make adjustments during the game, inability to run plays the whole game etc. He's proven it time and time again. Just starting the season what did he do? He decided to not use the 5 that got Lakers to wcf until nearly 60 games into season. And what when that lineup played together during season they went 17-6 or something showing if they started that lineup they'd be a 50+ win top 4 seed. So that's #1 the coach has got to go. Number 2 is they need to address the roster. Only players that should be 100% safe are Bron and AD assuming they both want to stay. 3 first round picks, 5 seconds, Reaves, Christie, etc so they do have trade assets. If you can hold onto Reaves and improve that'd be good but i wouldn't hold up bc of him that fixes this team. They need to address the areas of concern such as getting bigger. They are bigger than most teams but against the nuggets they aren't big enough. Need a legitimate back up big / someone that at times can play alongside AD. Jonas Valncunis from pelicans or Steven Adams are both ideal examples if they became available. Then gotta upgrade the bench unit that truly has been terrible. I don't think lakers need to go out and get a third star like Trae. Bron and AD have proven they are still both phenomenal players and could lead a team but the depth around them has to be consistent enough and address the areas of concern moving forward.
No decent coach will touch LeBron.

They have no answer for Aaron Gordon. He kills them on the offensive boards and gets tons of easy layups/dunks. They need a true big (akin to Dwight Howard) to rebound and defend the rim. AD, Bron and Rui do not have the athleticism to out jump Gordon or compete with the size of Jokic. The Lakers had so many opportunities three straight games to bury them & they continued to give up second chance points or easy baskets.
They should of signed a center who they instead of going guard crazy. I mean signing Howard at the veteran min just for backup would have been smart. They just sign a lot of players and then bench them.

From my seat, it seems like he’s saying regardless of the environment or the stakes, as professional basketball players, they should be able to perform. The court surface or the ball size and weight don’t change in the playoffs. This is the same game they’ve been playing all season, so there is no excuse for why they aren’t performing.

At age 39, because of his Ped use and modern medicine, he is healthy enough to win a championship. The problem isn't his age or his body, it's his mindset. Give Kobe Bron's 39 year old body and Kobe would have won the ring last year and this year.
Lebron was within a single possession to winning all their games to the Nuggets last year. Lebron choked, plain and simple. He made the wrong play and took bad shots so he could attempt to inflate his legacy. Lebron cares more about having a highlight reel and stats than he cares about winning.
No way a 39 year old Kobe, with Lebron's body, would give up a 20 point lead in the playoffs. The reason Lebron lost was because he saw that AD was outshining him and potentially on the path to taking the finals MVP away from him. He would rather deny AD the ball to pad his numbers, and potentially lose, then have a season where he wins, but is not finals MVP.
Lebron's ego removes him from the top 5, not his age or his body. Despite Lebron's slopping, traveling, carrying, bulldozing, superteam jumping, stat-padding tactics, despite how bad for the game he is, I HAVE to keep him in my top 10, as #10, because he still won at the end of the day. Those wins are worth less than those who took a more respectable and legitimate way to the title, but he still gets some credit for having won. I think Bron's "4" rings are worth about 1.75 legitimate rings. That still places him right behind Hakeem all time, post-Merger.

It’s funny how they mention boxing out because if you watch when ever a shot is chucked up, no one is boxing out anyone, they literally stand up straight turn around and then body the person next to them…
My coach, used to watch film and make note of how many times we turned around to watch the ball instead of boxing out, and he would make us run suicides according to his count.
When the shot goes up, the first look should be at your opponent. Get low and back down your opponent out of the paint. I agree some guys are harder to move depending on match up and size but if you watch, there are few who actually box out…they just turn around and wait for the rebound.
My couch used to say, the ball should be able to hit the ground after the shot if your’re boxing out correctly.
