This is such great advice! ❤Such a well done video! I completely agree with you on the quality changes.. I wish I could go back in time to an AG store in the early 2010's.

Hi Ann, great topic. I love your advice on being safe when purchasing from Facebook. I always meet people at a coffee shop close to home. I have found some great deals in thrift stores. I really agree with you about how older dolls have a history that we will never know and we are giving them a second chance. Let’s save the dolls for our future generations! 🙏💕

Thanks for sharing this! I enjoy hearing how people watch the secondhand market and any tips they have. One place online that doesn't often get mentioned is Poshmark - it mostly sells real clothes, but they do sell AG stuff and it's often for decent prices. You have to do a little more sorting through stuff that isn't related to AG, but not so much that it becomes very annoying. It doesn't have near as much as places like eBay or Mercari, but it's still worth giving a scan now and then.

I have used the goodwill online auction a lot and have generally always had good experiences, such as getting HTF/Expensive dolls for like $30 bucks. I will say there are a few downsides such as items not having a lot of details so you may end up with something that smells weird or is more damaged than expected. The shipping can be really expensive so make sure to check the shipping estimate before placing your bid as I’ve seen just a single outfit ship for over $20 dollars. One other thing is to make sure the item is not pick up only, it will say so somewhere in the title but if you’re not paying attention it’s an easy mistake to make.

This was great, Ann! I completely agree with all of your eBay advice. I pretty much exclusively use eBay and don't have experience with other sites. We have a LOT of resale shops around me and I don't resale very often, but I've never found an AG doll at a thrift store. So, you're not alone in that. Thank you for sharing all of your wisdom. :) You did a great job summarizing everything!

I’ve only been on eBay for two years & I’ve definitely found that patience is helpful! I’ve found really good deals that way! Just save a search & sit back & watch the prices, that way you’ll know when you’ve found a good deal. When I find something I usually act fast because I know it’ll sell fast!

I only buy off ebay I've never met anyone for doll stuff. If i did I'd Meet at a public place with my mom or dad at like our McDonald's or Walmart.

I shop on Ebay, Etsy, Temu, Amazon and occasionally on American Girl for some of their special outfits. I have a Beforever Addy Walker.
This video was helpful. Thank you.

Aaah I’m on a doll stuff buying ban so I can pay for a trip I’m taking in September, and this makes me really miss shopping for doll stuff. My best lesson has been patience as well. I have a ton of saved searches on eBay and Mercari that I was checking daily before the ban (lol) and eventually you’ll see something you want go up for sale for less than you typically see it. Keep your head on a swivel, fam.

I live in a decently big area compared to yours and I never see anything. I'm hoping I may get lucky at a garage sale but I doubt it. I prefer mercari because their customer service and platform is just easier and better in my experience but I've bought a few things off eBay. I also like the option to make an offer or not have to worry about bids

    I. Ordered something from a seller on eBay it was supposed to be shipped by FedEx and FedEx delivered it to the wrong house the address on the package was correct and it even had my 4 digit zip code extension. FedEx never admitted they made a mistake even though we saw on their website it was clearly the wrong house. eBay gave me a refund because they determined it was stolen.
