Canada has a whole world to trade with, meat, veg, food, there is Brazil just waiting for a major opportunity to sign a HUGE trade deal. Brazil has been expanding food exports at the expense of the USA for years and is on it's way to become #1 food exporter in the future so Canada can sign a massive free trade deal with Brazil and replace all USA imports. That's HUGE and would even lower the price of food as Brazil is cheaper than the USA. This is an opportunity for Canada that has not been seen in 200 years. Absolutely ground breaking for Canada to pull away from the USA and bring a country like Brazil in to global dominance over food exports. This would strengthen Canada and dramatically hit US farmers and food producers that would lose 1/3 of their customers.

I told my son who is joining the Canadian Armed Forces. That he be careful not to turn his back on an American. I learned while working in Somalia for MSF the American military is no ally to Canadians. Brian Donaldson and Major Wayne Long proved that to me.

Shut down the electricity, close down the border and refuse to take calls from trump, because you don’t speak to idiots.

Makes me sad to think Kamala and Tim would have been so great with everyone 😢
I watched a lot of their rallies even though I am Canadian.
Mark my words, Trump will disrupt the normal flow of business and trade agreements we have with our closely established neighbor Canada. Good on Trudeau for not backing down by implementing a retaliatory 25% tariffs on 105 billion dollars worth of goods and all oil and energy. Canada doesn't need the United States, the United States needs Canada. Many Countries are interdependent,. We rely and depend on one another on each other. Firefighters from Canada helped out California during the wildfires and 9/11 WTC attacks, and this is how Canada is repaid?? The Fentanyl problem is not coming from Canada, it's. From Mexico and elsewhere. Trump made a bad move and it's going to hurt the U.S. economy. He needs to be removed. He's a Narcissist hungry for power and dominance.
As an American, let me say how ashamed and disgusted I am that our criminal president is stabbing our closest allies in the back. Trump is an a stain on our nation, and I'm sorry that America is allowing his idiocy to harm our neighbors. All I can hope is that Trump will be destroyed by his own stupidity, because we were too weak to stop his fascistic right-wing movement.
Was wondering why is it I haven't seen Kamala or Tim express their views? The only person speaking against tariffs was Bernie.
I am Canadian and was just curious since it seems there is no debate about this issue in your congress and whatever Trump decides goes.
Hi from Canada's west coast... This is what hurts so much as we know there are millions and millions of good, generous and friendly Americans. So far, you're being drown out by the profoundly stupid, racist, ugly-in-the-soul americans and worse, the outright fascists now in power. I hope, for all our sakes, there's a complete groundswell of protests to stand-up to Orange Jesus, the ultimate bully. We want our American brothers and sisters back on sound footing with the rest of the world and not gazed upon with fear and loathing...
Rather than just adding import-tariffs on US-products, Canada should also consider (or threaten) export-taxes on their raw/processed-materials, going South to the USA. Trudeau is right to point out, that this action goes against the Agreement, which Trump himself renegotiated during his first-term. The harsh-lesson is, the USA cannot be trusted, when it makes agreements.
As a human who loves my planet, time to stop buying American. Sad day.
Losing Canada can be one of the biggest mistakes the USA has ever made... Canada is full of natural resources and a huge land. Everyone would like to partner up with them.

So then.. Prices for consumer goods and cost of living sky rocket... they fight about the tariffs and end up putting them nearly exclusively on things we need in order live. He can't. He's stepped down as leader of his party. They have yet to select his replacement.
The United States invaded Canada in three wars. Guess who won?
Canada is a food exporter on the trade balance. China would be happy to talk about increasing Canadian canola oil imports though.
Watch out, EU, you will be next.
No he will not tariff the EU because they already have negative trade balance so any tariff will harm the USA much more than EU. Also Euro is the #2 more powerful currancy and will make it stronger by using Tariff and weaken the Dollar.
