A little too late! 😅 It’s literally what got me into youtubing actually. Had a hard time figuring stuff out and found only 30+ min videos, figured I give it a try! 😃
The Atlas Path is worth finishing for the story and emotions behind all this. It's a well shaped plot and the music along with how the Atlas Stations look like.... Gone through it in the middle of the night and it's quite the feeling. Especially if you acquire Remembrance. When you finish Artemis Path (also amazing story) and move to another galaxy (although you probably don't have to, it's just what I did), go into those rooms in Space stations that require Atlas Pass v3. Some of them will have the interface to which Remembrance grants access to. I don't remember which ones were those, but some outposts on planets may also have such rooms. Interact with the interfaces you find there to learn more about yourself, the Atlas and this whole Universe :) Another thing: those big wheel portal-like structures found on anomaly planets (on which you may collect weird buildable curiosities). There's a huge amount of stories of the past worth diving into.
The story itself is indeed amazing, a shame to pass imo. Though I can understand that some might find the reward just not worth it? Although it does indeed tie everything together and finally adds something to those seemingly empty rooms with a terminal you can't do anything with! 😃
wtf bro random video and im looking for the og creator of this video and no the atlas path isnt worth it 3 years later i wish i never did it have a awsome day
There are a couple points about the Atlas path and remembrance that you missed. First off, remembrance(and the other one) is a shield mod and will buff your personal shields. Second, it unlocks more story options. I saw it explained in length in other posts, so I won't go into detail here. Lastly, if you're a lore guy, hunt down monoliths first and learn the Atlas language. This is best done with an exocraft scanner as you can scan for them specifically. Back in the day, this was it. The only quest in the game. The story of the Atlas path is the absolute truth of the NMS universe it's been the foundation of everything that came after.
Can you believe I pre-ordered this game back in the day, spend a couple hundred hours in it and am just right before ending this mission. I never dared until now.
Another way to access other galaxies is to regularly check the teleporter at the anomaly. It's hit or miss but if you warp to a player base in another galaxy and but down a base computer (a good distance from other players of course) you'll be able to explore that galaxy with damaging your ship.
One thing I would like to add; not sure if this is something that changed sense 6 months ago or not [also, I am playing on a save I have had from almost the beginning of the game release]; but, after visiting an Atlas station [or whatever it's called] the station automatically marks a new atlas for me -- I never have to go back to the Anomaly to ask the NPC.
Definitely not the case when I shot this (I wish lol)! Also not sure if they changed it or if it indeed has to do with your save, when I start a new save I'll find out. Thanks for the heads up!
Did this path yesterday…. Never seen it before and it confused the living hell out of me… cant say it impacted much of my story as of yet… but it definitely threw me for a loop
I’d say fly the route grab all the stone blueprints put a small base with teleported down in last system then concentrate on the Artemis quest line. You can just naturally gather the resources or let your freighter do it and jump back finish Atlas path anytime. Bit of a ball ache trying finish Atlas path early as noob with limited ship tech slots lack or game exp and the resource gathering. So to answer it’s worth doing but I wouldn’t recommend prioritising it for new players.
To answer your question "Do you think having black holes marked on your map is worth doing The Atlas Path?", CookingDoor. For me, after the umpteenth playthrough, my answer is no. These days I stay in Euclid until I've maxed everything, delete and start a new save. I no longer go through black holes and consider them to be kind of a nuisance; in that they become obstacles to avoid when warping into systems and black hole icons clutter the galaxy map. If needed I will just ask Polo and avoid the pita aspects.
Same exact thing for me, no other options aside from leaving. Can any answer? Seems this is literally the only other person/comment I see with the same issue.
you can return tot that atlas interface anytime to choose to birth a new star. Otherwise I think you have to craft a new heart of star and find a new interface
I got into it maybe over half way but items default if incomplete and the rewards seem meager for the effort. Very helpful from you though. Gonna try to get far enough in Artemis quest to unlock stargate portal. Also find my first derelict freighter. Put 75 hours into this game already. Feeling weary although put 600 hours into cyberpunk 2077 so I.D.K.
@@CookingDoor well if you get all the glyphs now. And do the atlas path he will have you “reset the universe”. which leads you to a portal on a planet and after going through it. You are confronted by the final atlas interface and he lets you choose what dimension you want to go to.

I never finished atlas or some of the other stuff in the main game... If I start an expedition that turns into my new main save, right? So I'd have to do all the stuff I've done again presumably? When I start expeditions do I lose all my existing ships and upgrades and start with nothing again? Cheers
When you start your Expedition you need to pick one of your save-slots, so anything in your other/main slot should be there and safe. The Expeditions save does indeed turn into a normal save file after it's over, I do think you can also re-do all the normal story missions then but I'm not 100%.
The questlines in NMS need a complete rework from scratch. They're completely uninteresting and basically feel like fetch and talk to somebody quests. The lore could be an attracting factor here if it was presented in an interesting way, but currently it brings more secrets than revelations and just feels like a poor attempt and philosophy. Rewards are not worth it as well, I can see black holes already across the whole galaxy and I didn't finish the final quest yet, so two additional core health just won't cut it.
