Biggest financial mistake would include Getting married (spent so much for the wedding day, then getting a divorce after and paying so much for the proceedings ( incluing the phil court's recognition of foreign divorce) 🤒
@@lotusseries1988 oh man! That’s such a bummer! But you can’t blame yourself, the wedding scene in the Philippines I think is too overrated. When I was young, I also dreamed of a big wedding, it’s quite recently I realized I better put it somewhere else - honeymoon or invest! I hope everything goes well for you!
When i moved to another country I went over budget constantly and I quickly realized it was because i was still pricing everything in my head in another currency!
Just found your channel & good video. I cut up all my credit cards years ago except 1 that gives points for EVERY purchase. I use it for everything like paying utility bills & property taxes, donations, etc and I earn points every time I use it. I then pay it off every month so I never pay interest. At the end of the year I use all the points for christmas gifts. It's a nice extra money hack so I suggest taking advantage of a card that has a reward system, use it and pay it off every month.
I believe that all of us have had a money accident before, where we are looking for the money and thought where did it go. We can never be too careful with money. Great editing 👌
Very engaging video and full of lessons. What we can share is try to pay urself first every sweldo. put aside maybe 10-20% and invest it and wag gagalawin kahit anong mangyari. Try investing in stocks, we've been doing that for 7yrs now. thanks and keep it up
Lol I love how you did this format. Ooh I have to try this.. because it pushes the message even more than if you were just talking to the camera. I agree with many of your tips. I do believe you need a credit card if building your credit but ONLY if you can discipline yourself to not spend over 10-15%.
This was amazing, I really enjoyed hearing this, as I am 22 and really enjoyed hearing the advice before I make the same mistakes! Love the scene of u talking to your past self, that was really cool and well done!! 👍🏽❤️
i loved everything about this video your editing skills are amazing but my favorite part is when you traveled back to 2018 to give yourself advice i wish we could do that lol but everything was spot on especially making financial goals and save up for your retirement
And now I realized a lot of mistakes about money thanks for sharing this sis i love this one! Watched some of your vids and I can say youre truly a vlogger!
Hi Jen 👋 I've watched some of your videos (You're first two video and tour in Trulee & Dublin) and it's all brilliant. 👍 This one too.. 👍👍👍 Good advice.. Ang galing nung ginawa mo time traveled to 2018. 😉 I hope you still remember me :-) You Take Care Always :-)
Hi Ate Kris! Of course I remember you Ate and our dorm days!! Thank you for watching the vids! 🥰🥰 Let’s connect on instagram ate, or facebook! jenestxx is my instagram, there are a lot to catch up!! ❤️❤️❤️
This was such a creative video. I loved that you were talking with your past self. I'm trying my best to get all my finances in order right now. I wish it was something that they taught in school.
I so agree with that! The schools never taught us how to manage our finance. I had a lot of business subjects but none of them mentioned about these. I hope you get yours sorted soon!
I think the main advantage of working overseas, is to take the money and invest it in your home country where it will buy you more. Example: I was working away and saved money, I waited for the property crash in Ireland and bought property in Dublin. You need to work your compitive advantage. Buying stock you are on the same level as everyone else, but if you have knowlage of your home country you can take advantage of that and find opportunities to leverage your money.
You're so lucky you got your property before the crash in 2008. I know someone who's timing was just the opposite of perfect - got a property just before 2007 ended. 😣 I was investing my money in the Philippine market initially but the time difference makes it impossible for me to trade there. I am asleep when the market is open! 😅 So, now I am investing in the US and EU market.
@@JenniferEstella I did some calculation on the Dublin property. I took some property prices from 1990 and added 6% per year componded and this gave me the real price of the house, so I knew that the property market was in a bubble. So I waited 5 years for the crash to happen. Every year my family said you should have bought last year and every year I said I am waiting for the crash. After the crash I paid 30% of the price. The house has not yet returned to the peak price, it might not happen for a few years. When I say invest in your home country, I mean land or property.
@@sarahann530 I bought a house with a very short lease, for cash as the banks would not lend on short lease. Because I researched and knew the area, I found out I could buy the freehold. Because of the property crash this brought this house into my cash price range. It had been empty for some time, so I offered 50k less that it was advertised. I usually buy empty houses in bad condition, so I can add value to the property, so even when prices go down I am still ok.
My biggest money mistake was I invested a huge sum of money that turned out to be a scam!😒 I’d definitely love to have that opportunity to talk myself out of that wrong decision I made in the past. 😅
My biggest financial mistake was not travelling more and investing in travel......i have the greatest memories travelling, things i will never forget.....now im over fifty im running out of time as its better to do when your young.......travel is not a waste of money, its an adventurous education....

Thanks for being candid. Financial literacy is something that should be mandatory in schools.
It definitely is! I can see it’s improving, in the younger generations in the Philippines at least 🙂
When i moved to another country I went over budget constantly and I quickly realized it was because i was still pricing everything in my head in another currency!
I was also the same at the start! I kept on converting the prices but eventually, spending on the new currency just grew on me.
Loved the 'old and new me' part - i wish i could go back to all the years i spent money on senseless things🥺
Thank you ate!! 💕 it’s not too late, pwede pa magstart ngayon! Hehe
We must really know how to spend our money, before it's all gone.. Thanks for sharing the financial mistakes.
I learned alot , I be making alot of mistakes
Rewatching cause it’s my 3rd month in Dublin. 😀
