Synopsis: In their teenage years, few things can hurt people more than the heartaches that come with unrequited love. Such is the case for Natsuo Fujii, who has found himself entranced by his school's ever-cheerful teacher Hina. Deflated by this unreachable desire, Natsuo humors his friends and attends a mixer. There he meets Rui, a girl whose lack of excitement rivals that of himself. After bonding over their mutual awkwardness, Rui takes Natsuo to her house and asks him to have sex with her, hoping that the experience will stop her friends from treating her like a clueless child. With his hopeless feelings towards Hina still on his mind, Natsuo hesitantly agrees. Equally unfulfilled by their "first times," the two decide to part ways as strangers. However, before he even has a chance to process this experience, Natsuo's father drops a major bombshell: he is getting remarried, and his new wife Tsukiko Tachibana is coming over now to meet Natsuo. As if that was not enough of a shock, her daughters-and, in turn, Natsuo's new sisters-are Hina and Rui Tachibana, the woman he's in love with and the girl with whom he shared his first night. Now, Natsuo must come to terms with the feelings he has for his step-siblings as his eyes open to a darker side of love.

I agree with you about the show but want to just point out that it's a very poor adaptation of the manga and it's also only part of it cause the manga was still ongoing at the time
@@omnimon91 Yeah that contributes too, but the original manga... man I really wanted to like it but MC is just too absurd for me to handle, it is fine for people to enjoy the story and other stories like that rental girlfriend one, I guess I am just not into this type of story.
Thank you for your kind words! I'm glad you're enjoying the reactions! I am really enjoying having you all guide me into this world. It seems most of you prefer I do the shorter cuts from the anime rather than the full ones? And it does seem that a few of you don't think this anime would be one for me but I'd be happy to check them all out eventually ❤️
@@GOTGames Personally I prefer the full ones but it also depends if you want to keep speculating about the anime cause rarely in the full ones there are visuals from it
Oh god I love this song…didn’t know it was from domestic girlfriend…bumped onto it on Spotify some time ago. I love her going into that soft growl in some parts of the song
This song is a real banger! I was hyped when I saw the notification that you were reacting to this song. Minami is such an amazing singer. Not reccommending the anime itself though. It's... A niche taste. I'll say it's better to get into it only when you're more familiar with the more questionable things in animes. But it's also a real frustrating anime for most avid anime fans either way lol so yeah.
The Manga is way better than the anime. Because the anime stopped when the series starts to shine. I'm not a fan of the ending from the manga. It doesn't make sense to me and I read an edited ending from a friend.
Nano's songs Nevereverland (op for an OVA called Arc IX), No Pain, No game (BTOOM! op) as well as Inside my Core along with Rainbow's opening, We are not alone by Coldrain; Ajin: Demi Human's opening, Can you sleep at night? by flumpool; Darker than Black's opening Howling by Abingdon Boys School as well as all of the Bungou Stray Dogs openings are worth checking out
I love seeing you discover anime ops 😭 I was the same when I discovered this side of music and was in awe that I didn’t listen to it sooner because it’s like a whole new world
I love this song! The opening animation along with the song make for one of my favorite anime openings. I'm very much NOT into the anime though. I like romance dramas, but the anime's concept combines 2 components that I'm really averse to so I couldn't watch it myself 😅 *The opening though, I listen to it A LOT! Minami is awesome :D*
Don't forget Honesty Diary. I'd have to say its probably my favorite Minami song. It's not as up front as her more popular stuff, but its one of her most heartfelt songs and I love it. Same with Sensei, Ano Ne. Incredible songs by an incredible artist.
Minami is by far my favourite japanese artist. After hearing this song I got listening to her other stuff and then got a tattoo of her song ホロネス(Hollowness in english). Would love for you to check that one out if you get the time. One of my personal favourite songs of all time. But on another note you would probably hate this show. Definitely not for anyone thats not into romance/drama anime and definitely not for a first romance anime.
This song was my first introduction to Minami, and I actually got quite addicted to her songs for a while because of it. If you like this one so much, I recommend you check out another song of hers called "Hollowness", which is by far my favorite of hers that she's done. It's not an anime song, but still sounds amazing, and also has some great animation to go with. BTW the animation for this video isn't from the anime at all, it's the original music video's own visuals.
I Know you prolly wont see this, but you released this on my Birthday and im crying RN because this song gives me so many emotions for my life. The Emotion she gives in hero voice is just beautiful. Keep doing these. I recommend The Kill La Kill Op's (No i am no where near what happened in the show XD)
I used to only watch Shounen anime, but i’ve recently watched a lot of romance & i love them as well. There’s so many well written anime in every genre tbh
First time finding your channel, I just am here because the Domestic Girlfriend theme song is one of the best songs I've ever heard even though I am a lifelong metalhead. This song hits SO HARD it cannot be ignored no matter who you are. But I love hearing your thoughts as someone who is new to the anime scene. Subbed. You also ask what that specific show is about, it's about step siblings hooking up, specifically the absolute drama of how MESSY things get if you start crossing those lines. So Domestic Girlfriend is actually a rough show to watch but it ultimately is about humans dealing with extremely uncomfortable stuff. If you want some serious drama then Domestic Girlfriend is actually probably up your alley, I would say it would be a HORRIBLE "romance anime" to start with, if you want a good romance anime then the answer is the one and only Horimiya
The first time i found out minami is from listening to kiss of death from darling in the franxx on spotify and the next song played was crying for rain and i absolutely loved her voice and her style
I have a quite unknown recomendation for you: the op to a little show called Kokkoku. the song is calles Flashback by MIYAVI vs KenKen. It has a very interesting and funky vibe to it that I think a mettalhead like you would still very much enjoy.
Vinland saga ending 2 - Drown by millet Sword Art Online ending - UNLASTING from LISA jujutsu kaisen ed 1 - lost in paradise fire force ending - Veil Millionaire detective ed - Welcome my freind by okamoto boys Shadow house ed - NAI NAI by reona lol i went all eds haha
I watched the anime and read the manga . This anime is straight up " Sweet Home Alabama" where the MC falls in love with his Step sister who is also his teacher in school and he's fooling around with his younger step sis
Yeah domestic girlfriend is a drama, but like another anime called “scum’s wish” and a bunch of others I can’t figure with the top of my head, they take on a much more depressing and psychological form of drama. This anime in specific is about a guy who has an unrequited love for his teacher and the complications that come with that kind of situation and it’s concepts it delves into are based off the same pains that people in similar situations go through in real life. Anime genres cover pretty much anything actually. It’s practically an entire world to itself with hundreds if not thousands of different series. Action, horror, and drama are only a start. There are also some pretty good sports ones, comedies, etc.
this was the song that got me into japanese/anime music, love to see it damn just checked my spotify and its been exactly 2 yrs since i added this song, what a coincidence
another famous songs of minami: lilac, main actor, ame wo matsu about the anime itself, it a really spicy drama and I think it's not for everyone. I personally like it but I know that other people hate it because of the dumpster fire that is the drama. I wouldn't recommend it if you can't handle some "spice"
If you want to hear and see a really calm and beautiful opening i can recommend "Tabi no Tochuu" (you can translate it like "On a Journey"), the "Spice and Wolf" opening. And the opening of the second season "Mitsu no Yoake" has the same feeling. Its a really calm and realistic medieval series. (And its still my favourite series of all time)
If you wish to fall in love with a voice, Yorushika is a great due for you. The vocalist puts so much emotion into the lyrics it's just incredible. If we are talking about rain, "Rain and cappuccino" is a great song by Yorushika.
just gonna throw in a ousama rankings openings into the list of recommendations. i finnished watching the series and i fell in love with it. would also like to see you react to: - to aru majutsu no index - fate/stay - durarara - kekkai sensen
Not sure if it's been recommended but there is a youtube channel called Animenz who did Piano covers of both this song and Unravel that are just out of this world, definitely worth a listen. Unfortunately probably right about the anime itself, the best thing from it in my opinion is this opening song. Love all the content and reactions
I'd like to recommend watching the second opening song for season one of the anime: En en no Shouboutai (Fire Force), I believe the song is called Mayday by coldrain
Luke, how long will you still keep writting "non Anime Fan" in front of your reactions? I think we are passed that... Still, some recommendations: Bleach Blue Exorcist Deadman Wonderland Seraph of the End Zankyou no Terror (watch the show) Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress
@@RenderingUser not in this one, but for example in the AoT reactions, literally the show He says he loves, has it. But it was still more ment as a joke than anything😂
Oh! this song made me realise i really want you to see you reacting to saki ashizawas cover of “hated by life itself”. Its similarly emotional with great lyric complexity.
I would say don’t discard shojo animes, or drama’s and romance. I say watch “ A Silent Voice” it’s just a film, one and done but it’s a great introduction to that genre of anime. Also there are sports anime’s one of the top tiers is Haikyuu
The opening is amazing, but for the anime itself i personally didn't like it that much , but if we're talking about romance comedy anime I think you should check "kaguya sama: love is war" it's one of the best animes of this genre
This anime is like a telenovella, it is certainly a drama. I love it, but I won't pretend it's for everyone. As my man Gigguk says, it's a dumpster fire I just can't stop watching burn. It's SPIIIIIIICY!
Minami has an amazing, beautiful voice and this song is great. Personally I believe her other song, "Hollowness" is better. ua-cam.com/video/HIRiduzNLzQ/v-deo.html Her vocals really shine in Hollowness, and also just the way she makes you FEEL throughout the song is mind-blowing
DG is one of my guilty pleasures, but I love this song as well. Those visuals are not from the show, but quick run down is guy like his HS teacher, but can't have her, so he goes to a mixer and sleeps with some random girl that comes onto him. Then, his father gets remarried and the new wife is the mother of both the HS teacher and the random first time girl. And no, I don't feel like I'm giving too much away considering all this happens in the 1st episode.
I would either recommend "I believe what you said" sung by "Asaka" (OP from horror anime series Higurashi Gou) or "Hoshikuzu no Ring" performed by Asami Imai (ED from horror splatter OVA Corpse Party: Tortured Souls).
this song really like a poem. watch the anime and you will know what the messages on every line of lyrics . This song is the story of anime itself (all episodes in one song). don't know to describe it, my english not that good

This anime is drama and romance. In the world of anime there's seasons where many dramas and romance anime come up everytime and anime fans wait for them, this anime was one of these, what it was beautiful about this one was the music and the art style, but if you're a horror fan, probably you won't enjoy it, but in my opinion I liked this one
Emm so here's the scoop. This anime is as you expected, a romance drama. I was recommended this anime as a kind of joke from my friend, but after watching it (albeit reluctantly) The main premise deals with, as described in the song (Def in my top ten anime song list btw), taboos, societal issues, and imperfection. The big dilemma in the show is whether the main characters give into these-for lack of better words-desires or not. I feel like the general consensus around this show is that many people hold it in high regard CRITICALLY. as in the show's writing and overall application of the manga into the anime. despite that, when I watched it I always ended up thinking, "if this person actually thought it out and made the proper choice from the get-go, none of this would have happened". This is a recurring theme throughout the anime, but in a way that's what makes it a good show, I haven't felt that strongly towards an anime like that I think in my whole 8-9 years of watching anime. that song's visuals aren't from the anime, so if you want to get an idea of the anime, it's better to watch the minute and 30 second intro. P.S. as an avid anime watcher who has found his fair share of anime that weren't appealing. a good rule of thumb that a lot of people use is the "three episode rule" that is if you don't like a particular show, you give it a 3 episode grace period, and if you still don't like it or perhaps your opinion does a 180 you can either drop it or keep on going. --thanks for listening to my Ted-Talk
Definitely check out Noragami, Tokyo Revengers, and Re: Zero openings! There are a lot of drama anime/manga. One of my favorites even to this day is a show called Toradora
One of the most fantastic OPs for a series that was total trash (and I'm a proud trash connoisseur). The manga was at least pretty good - until the author blew it in the end, anyway.
There are LOTS of great romance anime out there. Many of them will end up being comedy-dramas that revolve around characters tiptoeing towards recognizing each other's feelings for the entire series long (USUALLY bores me, though there are exceptions, including in the list below), but there are many series that actually tackle mature/intellectual topics about characters being IN relationships and working through them in various ways. Far more interesting imo. Here are ones that I've personally enjoyed a lot: - Your Name (a movie, easily #1 and extremely popular w/ YT reactions, great animation/music/story, a tearjerker for sure; but tears of joy or bittersweet tragedy? You'll have to watch it to find out! Any plot hook for this is a spoiler, so don't look up anything) - Spice and Wolf (one of my favorites, 2 seasons, & then discontinued. Still well worth it though. Fun folk music w/ medieval themes, plot hook: a female harvest wolf-god hitches a ride with a male traveling merchant's horse-drawn wagon as she journeys on a trip back to her home in the north. Hilarious witty banter, intellectual writing/growth, and exciting economic adventures await) - His and Her Circumstances (a nostalgic/personal favorite, amazing classical music, hilarious characters/writing, but SUPER low-budget and old, so keep expectations in check. Plot hook: A prideful high school girl who wears a facade of perfection comes to realize the value of authenticity when she fiercely competes against the school's #1 boy student and he responds by confessing his love to her. Uncommon for YT reactions, so could easily check it out on personal time) - Sword Art Online (you expressed interest in this already, and while it's mostly an action series, I would venture to say this one is also pretty significantly a love story too so it ~kinda counts? lol) - My Dress-Up Darling (new series w/ only 1 season so far, great characters w/ heartwarming and cute development, fun music, pretty popular with YT reactions, very educational too. I highly recommend it for you) - Snow White with the Red Hair (been a while, but iirc, this one had a good story. Also a good one to check out on personal time as it isn't popular on YT reactions) - Horimiya (relatively new, already concluded w/ abbreviated storyline from source material, 1 25-episode season. Enjoyed it all the way through)

some of them are musically beautifully done, some of them are mainstream and popular, some of them are not very popular, but imo worth listening to. There're plenty more good songs out there too but I'll end here
Liked your natural and genuine reactions, as if I am sharing musics with a friend and he just loves it :)
@@hoax1024 It's perfectly understandable, after all if the MC doesn't really get it will be hard to enjoy the rest of the show for how good it is
Thank you for your kind words!
@@GOTGames Personally I prefer the full ones but it also depends if you want to keep speculating about the anime cause rarely in the full ones there are visuals from it
I would love to recommend more song from minami such as "main actor" , "hollowness" and "waiting for rain"
Oh god I love this song…didn’t know it was from domestic girlfriend…bumped onto it on Spotify some time ago.
I love her going into that soft growl in some parts of the song
Minami is easily my favorite female japanese singer. She is amazing!
Ngl i like the Manga
The Manga is way better than the anime. Because the anime stopped when the series starts to shine. I'm not a fan of the ending from the manga. It doesn't make sense to me and I read an edited ending from a friend.
@@marvinmusic16 i like the ending but it has its problems
@@aj-mindalex1448 I'm not a big fan of Hina, I more the Rui guy =D
@@marvinmusic16 same but i understand the MC
Nano's songs Nevereverland (op for an OVA called Arc IX), No Pain, No game (BTOOM! op) as well as Inside my Core along with Rainbow's opening, We are not alone by Coldrain; Ajin: Demi Human's opening, Can you sleep at night? by flumpool; Darker than Black's opening Howling by Abingdon Boys School as well as all of the Bungou Stray Dogs openings are worth checking out
Imagine a dumpster fire but the dumpster is made of gold and you can’t look away. That pretty much sums up this one.
Crying for Rain: Most Popular
Lilac: Fans Favorite
Hollowness: Masterpiece
I love seeing you discover anime ops 😭 I was the same when I discovered this side of music and was in awe that I didn’t listen to it sooner because it’s like a whole new world
I love this song! The opening animation along with the song make for one of my favorite anime openings.
I'm very much NOT into the anime though. I like romance dramas, but the anime's concept combines 2 components that I'm really averse to so I couldn't watch it myself 😅
*The opening though, I listen to it A LOT!

This song had same tempo like tokyo ghoul op1,there a video that mix both song using piano and its really good
Minami is by far my favourite japanese artist.
If darling in the franxx was as raw as domestic girlfriend holy s....t
@@GroovyCODM you saying IF it was raw? Or was raw
I have a quite unknown recomendation for you: the op to a little show called Kokkoku. the song is calles Flashback by MIYAVI vs KenKen.
It has a very interesting and funky vibe to it that I think a mettalhead like you would still very much enjoy.
Vinland saga ending 2 - Drown by millet
Sword Art Online ending - UNLASTING from LISA

Please do a Call of the night Opening and Ending song reaction. They're bangers by the band Creepy Nuts. Love your reactions!!
I recomend the ending song from 86 called "Avid".
(The anime name is "86")
You have to do Vinland saga, you're missing ouuuutttttttt!
Agree.......
I watched the anime and read the manga . This anime is straight up " Sweet Home Alabama" where the MC falls in love with his Step sister who is also his teacher in school and he's fooling around with his younger step sis
It's okay if you'll say no chromo *wink"
This is my Fav Anime 😌
I definitely recommend checking out Minami's other music videos! She's probably my favorite singer of all time
The Domestic Girlfriend manga is hands down the best romance story I've ever read! Even with the rushed ending, it was 100% worth it.
now thats a take and a half. gg i guess?
Woow, i guess that there are all kinds of opinions.
tbh i agree its one of the best ones i've read. Also if some people think its garbage everyone can agree that rent a girlfriend is 10x worse
this was the song that got me into japanese/anime music, love to see it
damn just checked my spotify and its been exactly 2 yrs since i added this song, what a coincidence
another famous songs of minami: lilac, main actor, ame wo matsu
about the anime itself, it a really spicy drama and I think it's not for everyone. I personally like it but I know that other people hate it because of the dumpster fire that is the drama. I wouldn't recommend it if you can't handle some "spice"
What you describe in the first 50 seconds, happened to me 2 years ago! Crazy good music
you should definitely check out the two BEASTARS openings, both of them are great songs and super catchy!! first one is super jazzy too
not from an anime but you should check out "hollowness" from minami, made me fall in love with minamis music
Great reaction, this is an amazing song.
You should react to the openings of Dr. Stone and Haikyuu, they are amazing too.

Domestic girlfriend is a W man.
NGL domestic no Koji was my first anime I ever watched subbed and what got me into reading manga 🤣
im glad you watched the music video
I love this song! This is what led me down the anime music rabbit hole.
I would definitely recommend the openings for Durarara. All of the songs are absolute bangers.
Someone said it below, but even if it isn't action focused as AoT, Violet Evergarden is a MUST WATCH.
You would 100% cry watching it.

Oh! this song made me realise i really want you to see you reacting to saki ashizawas cover of “hated by life itself”.
This song didn't need to go as hard as it did, for real. Minami is singing her fucking heart out in this.
I love this opening!! You much react to the openings and endings of 86 ^^
First anime... I watched "Star Blazers: The Quest for Iscandar (1974)" as a kid. The next anime I watched was 0 AC (After Covid) at 56.
The opening is amazing, but for the anime itself i personally didn't like it that much , but if we're talking about romance comedy anime I think you should check "kaguya sama: love is war" it's one of the best animes of this genre
I agree with you there with it being my favourite anime

Minami is a jewel, so precious
Minami has an amazing, beautiful voice and this song is great. Personally I believe her other song, "Hollowness" is better.

Her vocals really shine in Hollowness, and also just the way she makes you FEEL throughout the song is mind-blowing
That’s not an anime opening but in my opinion Minami’s ‘’ Hollowness ’’ is her best song you should listen to it
Death parade op
Overlord op and ed
DG is one of my guilty pleasures, but I love this song as well. Those visuals are not from the show, but quick run down is guy like his HS teacher, but can't have her, so he goes to a mixer and sleeps with some random girl that comes onto him. Then, his father gets remarried and the new wife is the mother of both the HS teacher and the random first time girl. And no, I don't feel like I'm giving too much away considering all this happens in the 1st episode.
Thanks for reacting to this, I love this song and I love your reaction too. I would love if you react to Unlasting from Lisa, one of SAO ending
Man you should react to another minami's songs
like Hollowness
do bleach openings!
Domestic girlfriend just hit different and extremely hard man.... Masterpiece
Just a suggestion: Fate-zero and fire force has some good openings and endings as well ☺️ plus an amazing animation.
This song is the story of anime itself (all episodes in one song). don't know to describe it, my english not that good
No, I DO NOT wish for him to watch this show. I don’t think this is a show to introduce to a new anime watcher💀

Just found your channel so you might already heard one of these. Keep it up
show is pure trash but the opening is pure fire
This anime, I know it's basically could have been a Live Action Drama show.. but this anime reaches such sensitive or serious topics in life.
Just to be clear the anime itself is a shitshow, but the soundtrack is really good especially the opening.
Speaking of which, I think you should react to the actual OP - it's beautiful.
Here are ones that I've personally enjoyed a lot:
- Your Name (a movie, easily #1 and extremely popular w/ YT reactions, great animation/music/story, a tearjerker for sure; but tears of joy or bittersweet tragedy? You'll have to watch it to find out! Any plot hook for this is a spoiler, so don't look up anything)
- Spice and Wolf (one of my favorites, 2 seasons, & then discontinued. Still well worth it though. Fun folk music w/ medieval themes, plot hook: a female harvest wolf-god hitches a ride with a male traveling merchant's horse-drawn wagon as she journeys on a trip back to her home in the north. Hilarious witty banter, intellectual writing/growth, and exciting economic adventures await)
- His and Her Circumstances (a nostalgic/personal favorite, amazing classical music, hilarious characters/writing, but SUPER low-budget and old, so keep expectations in check. Plot hook: A prideful high school girl who wears a facade of perfection comes to realize the value of authenticity when she fiercely competes against the school's #1 boy student and he responds by confessing his love to her. Uncommon for YT reactions, so could easily check it out on personal time)
- Sword Art Online (you expressed interest in this already, and while it's mostly an action series, I would venture to say this one is also pretty significantly a love story too so it ~kinda counts? lol)
- My Dress-Up Darling (new series w/ only 1 season so far, great characters w/ heartwarming and cute development, fun music, pretty popular with YT reactions, very educational too. I highly recommend it for you)
- Snow White with the Red Hair (been a while, but iirc, this one had a good story. Also a good one to check out on personal time as it isn't popular on YT reactions)
- Horimiya (relatively new, already concluded w/ abbreviated storyline from source material, 1 25-episode season. Enjoyed it all the way through)
2021 delivered a lot of different anime with good opening songs. Among them Ranking of Kings opening 2 is probably the best one. Try this one you'll love this. The art style of anime is childish but the theme is mature

I recommend the Outlaw Star opening and the series. IMO it's one of the most slept on/under rated anime of all time.
Yep.minami’s voice is perfect.n the anime in fact is interesting.i like it
Good to see people enjoy my "once upon a time" most favorite openings. I'd suggest to have a look at the one with the visuals from the anime as I feel the visuals are slightly better than the music video. Also, wouldn't recommend the actual anime XD
I'd also like to recommend you react to 3 music videos, all from the same anime called Paripi Koumei. The songs being "Ya boy Kongming", "Be crazy for me", "feeling good"
I'd also recommend Hikaru Nara from Your Lie in April. Absolute bop.
You should listen to the Openings to GoSICK. Honestly, they are some top-tier songs
You should listen to "Brave Shine - Aimer" it was on 100 anime openings video and you said you liked it a lot. You'll definitely like it more after listening to the full song :)
I recommend you watch 86 eighty six, obviously also paying attention to their entire OST since it's the same team as in Attack On Titan...
