The thing that made Ronald interesting wasn't just that he was overpowered, it was the amount of insanely powerful tools he had at his disposal. Projectiles, traps, powerful spikes, and simple combos. Most Ronald reskins focus solely on making them the defacto number one strongest character, which leads to incredibly quick and boring matches like these. Its not very exciting when a single touch takes the game in a matter of seconds. The clones were popular for a time, but as soon as more interesting and polished boss characters released, the community moved on from the recolour Ronalds.
Same thing happened with anti cheap, as it was just spiting in people's faces for daring to mod how they please despite the developers encouraging people to do so, and only harmed the game and the mod creator long term. Why bother downloading their characters, it's not going to be compatible with mine, as they hate anything being slightly stronger than theirs, and especially hate those way more powerful. Hell, why bother joining the community at all when mod creator's are constantly fighting each other with their invincible to everything including instant death that ignores shields shields, ruining the fun? Because that's how that played out for me at least. Why don't I own rivals? The community is a bunch of school ground kids arguing over a made up game with made up rules that ruin the point of the original game they were playing because nobody can stand losing, so now nobody gets to play as it's boring.
Finally someone acknowledged the problem I have with this games workshop. I feel like like ever since they released Ronald the games workshop became this toxic cesspool of creators ether creating characters that can beat Ronald or creating complete clones that were just slightly or way more stronger just trying to make the number 1 “strongest character” but all it ended up doing was leaving the workshop filled with characters that could just delete you in a second and just overall taking the fun out the game for me and I would assume many others.
its a shame really, even the original ronald got buffed AND anti cheap. (though there are people whove posted the old, better version, god bless their soul)

For this exact reason, i am genuinely shocked no one has made Rare Akuma yet. He's not just versatile like Ronald, but every single one of his move is a reference or a meme.

Yes you can turn on infinite stocks, I don’t know if that would break the instant win condition because I’m not sure if the attack just wins the game or actually subtracts stocks. Wish I would have thought of testing this lol
there is a character that can hit and kill ronald guacho called micky's speedway usa, although that character also auto wins everyone and everything so its kinda unfair
You should test agent N character has a very interesting gameplay (and a anti cheat that it's very destructive and have something like 2 phases that depends on how durable or cheaper is the enemy and also the anti cheat activate when you use the taunt)

I don't think it's petty at all, Altzer's work was basically just constantly reposted with no real additions other than "haha i press button and win" The original Ronald mod was broken, but it was designed as a tribute to the original Mugen Ronald, and it was lovingly well made. And I'm sure Altzer probably felt bad because all people wanted to do was talk about and make videos on Ronald, whereas other people's work was always overlooked for cheaply made Ronald clones that don't do anything interesting. It was really discouraging for a lot of people who put in the work to make characters fun and interesting. I have just over a thousand characters downloaded from since the WS opened because they're that well made, but videos on this game still ultimately boil down to memes and poorly designed sprite rips, meanwhile the community is often hosting workshop tourneys on the regular
