How would the carpet hold up if i didnt glue it down? Just installed the seats on top
@@josephwalk1747 you’d likely have parts of the carpet rising in some areas and not sitting flush with the floor, especially the portions near the ends (like by the pedals…not safe). That sort of thing would drive me nuts, personally. Definitely don’t recommend you go that route.
@DoubleOSevan only reason why I'm wandering is because I'd like to put a 4age into a sr5, the sr5 is running, so my main focus first is getting it put together and painted but if I have to change wiring or anything having to pull up the carpet would be a hassle
@@josephwalk1747 after everything I've learned with this build, if you're going all out with a full repaint and restoration, I'd recommend getting it stripped (engine, interior, etc) and painted before swapping all the GTS stuff over. Then put the new interior in last. This is assuming you're painting the engine bay as well.
Hey man, do you have a link to the carpet on stock interiors on their actual website? i need the mass backing part
The link I have in this video’s description leads to the same carpet kit I used on my car. When you click on that link, scroll down through the item description where it says how to special order the same kit with mass backing. They say to message them on eBay, which is also how I special ordered the extra carpet material for my trunk. There should be a contact seller button on that same page. Hope that helps! ✌️

Thanks! I spent waaaay too much for it lol. I’ll make a video once the project is done explaining the price breakdown, but a project like my 86 costs a LOT more than most people know.

you need to use sand paper to get smooth surface before painting dude
Mr BaNDiT these interior trim pieces have a texture that would have been ruined by sanding.
