I believe that the reference to the water prayed upon and it's crystals having different shapes also occurs most prominently in zamzam water, a holy water Muslims use only found in Saudi Arabia. So yes your right, there is an unseen energy/power in the universe. Great book recommendations. I'll check them out.

From all of the books you have suggested, I can't help thinking that you would LOVE Melissa Ambrosini. She has a youtube channel and a book called 'Mastering Your Mean Girl.' She basically talks about everything that is in each of those books and meditation, loving over fear, gratitude, being aware of your ego, and just thinking about the world in a different perspective. Hope you get the chance to pick up her book one day! Honestly, I don't ever preach books but this one literally did change my life haha. Helped me in so many ways!
