    I watched your video interview in another channel where you talked about Type A personality + having a trauma (PTSD) + getting covid
    Holy shit you nailed me straight! That was me man! No doctor could’ve explained to me what you did!
    The theory works! I knew it works because I started doing breathing exercises and playing video games and somehow ALL my symptoms were GONE for couple hours! It was insane!
    Apparently for me, relaxation + joy calms down the nervous system and thus I don’t feel nothing bad!
    Thank you so much 🙏
    You don’t know how much your interview was helpful! When I watched it I jumped from my bed and said I FUCKIN KNEW IT.. I knew the nervous system was responsible for this!
    Thank you a lot 🙏🙏

      YESSS!!!!! You heal through joy, and everything that gets in the way of that will give you symptoms. I love your comment, thank you for taking the time,. This is what truly keeps me going. You got the point. I hope others read this and see that through joy is how we heal because when we are in joy we are not in fight or flight or shut down mode. 🙏

    Oh I will say, what helped me drop the panic, was B3 (niacin) and NAC. These were great for the CFS. At least I can sleep without my heart pounding for no reason.
    Zinc and Magnesium were great too. If anxiety overwhelms, Holy Basil or Ashwaghanda.
    That's my stack, but they lose their efficacy from time to time.
    Had to quit caffeine, that just killed my social life and made me realllly depressed (I relied on stimulants to keep on with life). But hey, this is a chance to build myself up : )
    Drinking more water than usual. This really helped too.
    Oh, and low carb, smaller meal sizes (lots of protein, not shakes, real protein).
    This helped a lot with flares, since big meals killllled me. So did simple carbs.
    Exercise...Hmph, I can't do much without being in bed for 12 hours at a time the next few days. That part is tricky. I'll stick to walking.
    This worked for me, their all safe, but hey, folks, watch out from people recommending intense diets. It might make things worse and harder on your body>
    Not a doctor, don't sue me

    So far, I think this was the best video for me, on long Covid. This month I was wondering what stage I was in. Every video I have been watching lately talks about people’s testimonies. And how they are Covid free and what they did. This video help me find where I am. If I was close to healing or still far away from healing. I’m in flight or fight stage. It has been 2 years suffering with this disease and believe me I went through every stage. All of them, scary, it came to a point where the hospital thought I had a stroke. But I didn’t, but I had all the symptoms of a s stroke. I am finally back at the gym, it has been 3 months and no flu. But I still have systems of breathing, heart and feeling anxious, very nervous. But these systems are getting less each day. Now I know I am near the end. Thank you for sharing this video.

      I have a question. I am not in bed no more. I am not tired anymore. I have exstreme anxiety, my nerves will not shut off. I pace back and forth in my house. I been experiencing stomach problems, like I said, I been very constipated. Cannot go to the bathroom. I cannot sleep, and when I get a little sleep i wake with panic attacks. This has been going on for about 2 weeks. Does this mean I am in the last stage. Am I getting better or worst. It has been terrible. What do you think. I would really appreciate your feedback. Thank you

      Get rid of wheat and all grains from your diet, sugar, foods high in histamine and seed oils. They're all inflammatory. Use tallow instead. 😢People with chronic illnesses, autoimmune diseases and long covid are getting better with a carnivore or lion diet. Look into it. Search for Dr. Anthony Chaffe, Dr. Ken Berry on the carnivore diet.
      In case you try it, avoid minced meat. It is high in histamine. Instead use beef and lamb fresh meat. I mean non smoked, cured or dry aged meats. They're all high in histamine.
      I learned this in 4 months by doing a lot of research, it will save you a lot of time.
      I suffer from fibromyalgia and all symptoms went away in two weeks with the lion diet. I was bedridden for 8 years and I was in bad shape. Brain fog, blurry vision, muscle and joint pain, constant headaches, migraines with aura, restless legs, stiff neck with very little mobility, inflammation throughout my body, ibs, incontinence, poor sleep. Just to give you an idea, the gravity of the state I was in.

      Thank you soo much for the loving words ❤️❤️❤️🙏🙏🙏 having a big family is tough and a huge blessing. Especially with the limitations long COVID puts on us. BUT just know you CAN heal. It’s not easy work. It takes digging up past trauma, working through personal beliefs (which can be shown through our personality traits). I plan to make a video on specifically people pleasing and how it affected me in long COVID. I just posted a video about asking my wife how she dealt with it. I hope it brings you value.

    I am SO glad that you mentioned WHM breathing and to not do it. I kept trying and began to dread the practice because it was stressful to my system. I thought I just needed to buckle down and keep doing it. I'll now work on better breathing practices. This was so validating to hear.

      So many people message me about this breathing. I forced myself to do it when I was sick. I thought if I did it enough time I would get better. The opposite happened, my symptoms would get worst. I became more disassociated. Then when I learned about the polyvagal theory, I understood why I was feeling worst.

I am newly divorced from a stressful marriage. I love that you said you have a better life than you did before. Thank you again for sharing your story and inspiring those of us on this journey. I was on short-term disability, sadly in NYS people with Long Covid were getting denied long-term disability. I didn't want to go on disability because I was scared this would mean this is a life long problem. If you ask people with Long Covid what is going on in their life. all of them have ALOT of stress. Either them stressing themselves out from internal or external pressures, or their disease stressing them out or family members stressing them out or life circumstances putting an immense stress. I cant imagine getting a divorce is not stressful. Please continue to focus on your health. you deserve it.

    This is really helpful in confirming what my intuition has been telling me! But of course no one listens to that, everyone has misplaced scrutiny and disbelief towards anything that doesn't fit in their box of expectations toward one's diagnosis.
    It's like my nervous system has been corrupted against my body; a commander in the army with psychosis randomly calling soldiers to arms.
    The fact that mental state affects it so strongly makes it even harder to be taken seriously, especially since I have had struggles with anxiety and depression since high school.
    Mind over matter seems to be a key component to managing this. Which is annoying and stupid that we have to fucking babysit the part of your body meant to protect us (I feel betrayed by my own body), but also hopeful and empowering at the same time;
    On one hand it's something we shouldn't be HAVING to do, and like you said no one deserves this shit... BUT we may have more power over it than it feels like.
    I'm gonna just keep believing in the power of my consciousness to help regulate my systems.
    If anything, Long COVID is proving what psychotherapists have been trying to get across to the medical community for some time: the brain has a lot of power over the body

    • @Roberto-Escobar
      @Roberto-Escobar  Рік тому +3

      You didn't deserve getting this disease. I know western medicine doesn't understand this, and to be honest I don't think they really are trained to. Sadly unless there is a pill to sell or a billing code to code that can get MD's paid, they just won't dig into it. They are not ill intentioned but it's just the way the system works. But like you said you have power over your mindset (not the work harder kind but the self love kind). Im nobody special and if I can heal and many others have, you and others after you can as well. The nervous system doesn't understand language, so you need to communicate with it using different methods (like laughing yoga, breathing exercises, laughing, smiling). What makes it sooo HARD is that it affects your mental health so much. But you are not going crazy, the hormones your nervous system triggers is REAL. I would recommend reading 13 things mentally strong people don't do by Amy Morin. If you have IG give me a follow. I post stuff there about her book and long covid stuff. Not a coach, not looking for clients or followers. I hope I can help.

    Also an RN (40 years in nursing), I figured this out for myself too. Stuck in fight or flight. Imagine if just one of your doctors said you’re stuck in fight or flight instead of you have anxiety here’s a pill. I do yoga, guided breathing meditation, Mediterranean type diet, reduced sugar, and spend as much time outside as I can. It’s been slow, since November 2021, but I’m more functional now, back to work very part time. I’m also finding some better control of chronic migraine that I’ve had for the last 8 years. My body still doesn’t like lots of stress, but I’m in the healing zone. Love the minions throwing rocks, I’m going to see that every time stress is building now.

      Thats why polyvagal has been so life changing. I no longer see anxiety as this mental health illness but a nervous system problem. And it works. My mind or body doesnt like stress either. I cant go back to living a life full of stress like I used to.

    I saw you on Raelan’s channel and loved the way you explain things, your presence, personality, etc. I’m really happy to see you starting your channel to help others. As someone with a trauma informed background, you did a great job here! Also, pre-existing PTSD can cause these conditions. There are so many layers of stress to heal and work through, and it can take longer the more trauma we have experienced. So this is a friendly note to anyone reading this to be patient and kind to themselves. 💜💙💚💕

      @Roberto-Escobar  Рік тому +1

      Thank you so much for your kind words! ❤️I absolutely agree about PTSD. That needs to be worked out for the polyvagal exercises to work. EMDR and cold plunging really healed my ptsd.

    • @AnrupB
      @AnrupB Рік тому +1

      @@Roberto-Escobar Yes, even with PTSD there are so many different approaches. I definitely had a lot more PTSD than I recognized before getting Covid (and POTS and ME/CFS), but the gift is all the lessons I’m learning, the deep personal growth and having a more balanced, joyful life. I’m grateful that I largely already knew how to heal since I worked in the field teaching people various mind-body methods with intuitive health and life coaching from a spiritual perspective. It’s been insane to me to hear all the recovery stories and same root issues and methods! Good on you for sharing! You are very brave to be so honest with your story and the reason I know that is because I went through something very similar with COVID. I had depression, visions, pneumonia, tinnitus, fever, and more. I felt like snuffing it at times and this was from the Omicron COVID that people said had symptoms like the common cold. What you are saying is very true, and though I too have improved, I still wrestle with my symptoms - and it has been over a year since I had COVID. Stress is the big trigger and talking to your brain to tell it that things are not dangerous is important. Eventually, things will settle down. I have faith that things will work out for the best, but you have to be vigilant to not be triggered. God bless you and your family. You are doing a great service!

    I had similar symptoms and developped new intolerances/allergies after getting covid I was also an avid runner and I have a stressful job. I was wearing latex gloves everyday at work for a few weeks after covid and got dizzy low blood pressure and almost fainted a few times before realizing the latex gloves were probably causing an allergic reaction. Since then I had new food intolerances and got kind of better for a while but I had tingling hands and feets and could not go back to running. Things spiraled down and got worst after I caught covid again and pollen allergies a few weeks ago. I started taking Thiamine supplements (vitamin B1) and saw an immediate improvement. My digestive issues and bloating are way better and anxiety has diminished. I saw a few posts about the fact that long covid symptoms look a lot like Beriberi disease in some people which can be easily treated with Vitamin B1 (Thiamine) supplements. So maybe this could be a factor in all of this. The illness is depleting the reserves of Thiamine and the symptoms of Beriberi appear. It's just a thought personally I was eating gluten free and a lot of carbs/white rice wchich could have further depleted my reserves. Anyway just sharing an idea worth exploring I really liked your video and story it feels good to see that we are not alone struggling and reducing anxiety and stress definetely helps feeling better.

Breathing Exercises should be DEEP SLOW AND LONG inhale. I was inhaling for 5 seconds, 8 second hold, and exhale for 10 seconds through pursed lips (only when exhaling). The time doesn't matter, we all have different lung sizes and capacities. It should feel calming and you shouldn't feel like you are depriving of oxygen. hope that helps.

    • @Roberto-Escobar
      @Roberto-Escobar  Рік тому

      please share. I honestly believe it is nothing mechanical or chemically wrong with the body. I think polyvagal is the correct puzzle to solve. It is an overactive nervous system. It gets more complicated to explain why its overactive. It has too do with parts of the brain in charge of warning your nervous system. That can become extremely sensitive.

      @@Roberto-Escobar I very much want to believe this, and intuitively I kind of of do hence I resonated with your story, but I took part in a huge UK study called Explain last week (if you want to see it) and the results unequivocally in 1000+ participants show poor Gas exchange in the Lungs… now that could cause all our symptoms easily and lungs repairing in time could explain getting back to normal… OR do you think that perhaps an impaired CNS which controls lung function could be attributed to the poor gas exchange function and use of oxygen within the body? @@MrKelso85 I can't find the study. Not on google anyways. I did breathing exercises, yoga, and brain retraining before and it didn't work because honestly I thought this was all BS. I bought Gupta program and tried it. But to me this made no sense. I talk to people now and those that think polyvagal is BS but try the exercises, they don't get better. There is a level of faith needed. Why? You cannot calm the mind and nervous system and do all these exercises with joy leading if you believe it doesn't work, your mind and thoughts will continue to race despite doing the yoga or any of the exercises. We under estimate the role "thoughts" play in our healing journey. I want to also point out that anxiety can cause a lack of oxygen and vice versa. When you are anxious you are breathing more shallow and quicker. Does lack of oxygen cause anxiety. Not really, it's not the root cause but if you hold your breathing for 5 min I bet you will get very anxious, it's your worrying thoughts that do. When you have a panic attack they tell you to slow down your breathing and it should stop it.....does that mean breathing is the cure? No, fixing our thoughts and beliefs about the future is the root cause. If lack of oxygen was causing long covid wouldn't everybody with long covid just go on an oxygen machine and steroidal tablets to reduce lung inflammation and be cured from all symptoms? I wish this was true because it might be a quicker fix or at least a fix that comes with a predetermined time line and people would have hope, I don't believe that to be the case because I healed through the polyvagal method. You can also see the Raelan Agle videos of people healing from similar diseases that have healed through polyvagal methods. I think they're an overactive limbic system in the brain which triggers the nervous system. I COULD BE ABSOLUTELY WRONG about all this. maybe the ones that healed is all luck. For those who are seeking for answers, I would research and look for patterns, not in research studies (these are usually funded by pharm industry and they seek medications to make money) but asking people who have healed in real life, through social or in person. don't be afraid to ask questions. I ran a half marathon two days ago. I felt amazing during and after. NO symptoms. I hope people can get their life back, because I have.

      That sounds awesome. Im happy you are recovering. I will make a video about things I did to recover. But I think the biggest thing was changing my mindset (not the push harder kind, but having more compassion towards myself kind) and changing beliefs about myself and life was HUGE! I think that's why I had lasting recovery. Obviously the breathing, the laughing yoga, the yoga (more like stretching on the floor poses), the singing songs that sounded happy, listening to disney music, building hope everyday by listening to Ralean's Agles channel and hearing others recover (because of my hopeless mentality). But giving up this Type A personality was essential. The reason i was type A was because of certain beliefs i held and was raised and trained with. For example i was a perfectionist and people pleaser. I reflected and journaled and figured that i was doing this because my parents only showed me love when i achieved things, when i didn't make mistakes, and when they were happy around me. So i did my best to please them and make sure they were always happy so i could feel safe. I will make videos about these topics. Im sorry I'm slow with putting videos out but I have a full time job, and a beautiful 2 month old so I'm a bit busy but i appreciate the comments, it encourages me to make them on my free time (if any).

Do you believe in polyvagal theory causing it? if you don't believe this won't work. Ive seen many people try to do the exercises alone but not really committing to it and don't improve. There has to be a level of faith (even if accompanied by doubt) to get polyvagal to work because you need to calm your mind down while doing these exercises and that won't happen if while doing yoga you keep saying "this is ridiculous this can't be the curse" (ive done this before). If I understand well the polyvagal ladder to go from frozen or dorsal to regulated we have to go through fight or flight. I noticed that when I do a little bit too much I have hyperarousal so I think I get in fight or flight. It leads to insomnia for me. If I rest a lot then my sleep comes back to normal. But doing this I come back in the shutdown dorsal state. How to keep going through fight or flight without making it worst please ?

      Dont stress about which state you are in. The plan continues to be the same. Continue with those polyvagal exercises to help calm the nervous system. This takes consistency and time. Patients on your part without expectation of symptom improvement. this is important because you will cause stress if you have expectations of having no symptoms and yet you continue and will create anger or frustration.
