      I honestly think that is what Malachi Moore was thinking too. I'm not excusing his behavior, but I think he was pissed that his teammates were half-assing it, or perhaps he knew the defenses being called were wrong. He's seen and been on Saban's defenses, and in 4 years he's never done anything like this. At the halftime of the GA game, Bama's D just simply quit, and Vandy rolled it.

    Not a Bama fan, but Damien Harris - Thank you, thank you, thank you, for calling the behavior for what it was at 3:35. Unfortunately it's in every program. And yes you said it earlier in the interview - the "Look at me" attitude (0:54) -the swan song of the current American sports culture. And that is not the kids fault. It's the adults & coaches who allow it. Sadly, you are seeing the truth of Ecclesiastes 2:18-19 played out before you. "Thus I hated all the fruit of my labor for which I had labored under the sun, for I must leave it to the man who will come after me. And who knows whether he will be a wise man or a fool? Yet he will have control over all the fruit of my labor for which I have labored by acting wisely under the sun. This too is vanity."

    In less than one year DeBoar has already torn down the standard at the University of Alabama. The Alabama football team has always shown class on the field whether it be a touchdown,a big play,or a big hit they would hand the ball to the officials and be ready for the next play. You never ever saw an Alabama player mouthing off to anyone.Period.This coaching staff does not have a clue to what this university stands for.You never saw dancing in the end zone. Now we have players dancing in the end zone when we are behind. That is pitiful. You coaches need to grow a set and discipline this team or get the hell out.

      You are absolutely correct in your observation of what goes in Seattle does not go in T Town. I went to undergraduate school at the U of Oregon and I observed the culture even quite a few years ago that was then just ugly, shocking, and, vulgar in many ways. As the old song says, "I'll take my stand in Dixie to live and die in Dixie.." Our new Bama coach must adapt to what is expected in Alabama or his tenure in T Town will indeed be short. He is already seen as too weak, undiscipling of his players when they need it. Changes I believe must be urgently made by Coach Debar or he will not be the Bama coach for long.

    @SabanWorshipper 16 годин тому +2

    I dont care what he says his reason is or isn't..Saban seen the writing on the wall and that's why he eventually retired. Nick Saban the guy who upheld the very standards Damien Harris speaks of here had himself dramatically softened in his later years. He had to, these kids wouldnt react to his early style of hard nosed coaching. I dont know what people expected. You give 18 year old kids a bag of money and think they are going to grind for you. Give me a break. They talk big, say all the right things, but we all know they aren't hard anymore. They aren't built by Bama like these older players. One raised voice or not getting to be first string and they hit the transfer portal so fast it'll make your head spin. There has been a shift in the power dynamic that started even before Saban retired.The recruiting wasn't there anymore. Sure there were a lot of 5 stars, but how many WANTED to be there?. We have had offensive and defensive issues for years that just seem to NEVER get fixed. Subpar coaching staffs...list goes on..lets not act like we can blame all this on Coach Deboer or even these young kids..after all they simply dont know any better..I still think this will be an issue in college football for years to come.Also,for anyone who says well this team or that team isnt suffering..give it time..some of these schools just havent had the prima donnas and the big pocketbooks yet..success will attract high profile players and big payouts and teams who won off 3 or 4 stars who put in work will eventually start to decline..This ISNT an ALABAMA problem..this is a CFB problem that needs to be corrected now

  • @VorlonAngel
    @VorlonAngel День тому +3

    History has proven.... every football program is only ONE good coaching hire away from rising to prominence such as Saban to Bama or Bob Stoops to Oklahoma or Sarc to Texas. Likewise, one bad coaching hire can send a prominent program down to the abyss of average or mediocrity after riding the top of the sport for years. Examples are plentiful of this such as Shula to Bama, everybody that took over Miami after Jimmy Johnson departed for the cowboys, Florida State after Bowden or Jimbo, or whoever took over at USC after Pete Carroll departed. Unfortunately, the bad hires may not be visible until after 3-4 years once the coach has his own players and the previous coach's' players have moved on. This can be seen when Erickson took over at Miami after Johnson departed. How are things over at Baylor right now? Yet the same can be said for good hires until he gets his own players. Take a look at Nebraska and what Rhule is doing by gradually building the program in year two. And lets not forget that just because a coach was successful at one program does not guarantee he will succeed at the next one, aka Jimbo Fisher at Texas A&M as well as others. The jury is still out on Kalen but one can already see the differences in the program compared to what Saben left behind. What he does with respect to Moore will show A LOT. We shall see.🤔🤨

    I have been an Alabama fan since 1953. I hated when Coach Saban announced his retirement, but I know he was tired. And when Coach DeBore was announced the new head coach I was very excited because I knew he could win. But someone with the power please get him this message.
    Coach do not treat these players like they are your best friends, they are not.
    Please coach, get a grip on this team quickly. If not you are not going to have a team. As far as Malachi Moore, you need to sit him for at least 2 games.
    And if any of these players do not want to play for you, let them enter the portal. There are plenty of really good players who would love to play at the Great University of Alabama. I had rather see a squad who wants to be there and play the best to their ability than have the ability but not give a Schitt about how they play and no respect for themselves, their fellow players, their coaches and the school.

    Damien Harris is full of it. I watched Alabama teams that he was a part of gouging eyes and punching opposing players in the groin during games. Nobody was penalized. Nobody said anything. That's because of the SEC's "Saban Rules".
    What about in 2018 when Alabama linebacker Mekhi Brown punched a Georgia player in the face and then attacked an Alabama assistant coach on the sidelines? Are you just conveniently forgetting about that? Or all the Alabama player arrests for driving while in possession of drugs and guns? Quit acting like Malachi Moore's behavior was brand new to Alabama or to college football as a whole.

    It’s a new era Damian. This is why Saban retired. This attitude was at Bama when Saban was there. Remember, Malachi is Saban’s guy. Saban’s last Natty was 2020. Clearly things were different and Saban knew it. That old Bama and the way things were are gone. NIL and transfer portal has changed everything. If Damian coached this Bama team himself, he will see why Saban left.

    Damien I am a HUGE fan of yours and of THE TIDE. I agree the Malachi screwed up. That's NOT up for debate. But, I disagree wholeheartedly your opinion that Coach Saban's way is the ONLY way. Also, that Coach Deboer lowered the standard and BAMA is like every other program now. Where was that talk the week before when BAMA beat Georgia? You are an esteemed Alumnus of the program....why do you NOT know Malachi? Are you still involved with the program? What's the use of putting more players in the league than anyone else if those NFL guys aren't reaching back into the program and supporting those current players and coaches? BAMA is FAMILY. I you have a problem with your little brother, go to him and help him correct it. DON'T blast him on the evening news. That doesn't help him....that doesn't help the program. Much RESPECT for you and your accomplishments....but I disagree with how you handled this.

    I feel you Damien but you played on OFFENSE with Kiffin, Brian DaBoll, and Locksley! Then had both Jeremy Pruitt and Nick Saban on the opposite side of the ball on top of that DEFENSE being one of the best in history and damn near had 22 starters on defense by how good they were! You can’t tell Moore how to handle embarrassment when they’ve had to downgrade from green grass with Saban and Kevin Steele to tumbleweed Kane Wommack giving up a 40 ball to Vandy. No disrespect to Vandy’s growth but that shouldn’t have happened on defense especially after last week and being ranked 1st. That was pathetic! No shit, y’all wouldn’t have done that under Saban because Saban would’ve never lost that game in the first place, especially after beating Georgia so all of that talk is pointless since these kids have Wommack from South Alabama running the Defense now

    And to go alone with that Nick Saban help make you all great men players and leaders. Over 60 players from Alabama in the league and more that was in the league that’s no longer in the league. How many of you all are going back to visit Alabama to pour into these kids and this program? How many of you all has donated to the NIL era? Why don’t none of these kids no you personally? Because my opinion once you all made it many of you all never looked back. Only a hand full of players stay around the program in some type of capacity. The standard don’t end once you leave bama the standard is your life. Go to Tucaloosa and talk to these young bulls. And I don’t care what team it is that came thru bama every team had a knuckle head or player that lost his cool. I still remember the young man that tried to fight the coach on the side line. It happens. He issued a apology he will learn from it don’t condemn him and let’s move on and find a better way to improve and get better it’s a 12 team playoff so we still have an opportunity reach our goals. #RTR
