Modular Techno Set: Thomann Keys & Frequencies
Вставка

- I was asked to play the Thomann Keys & Frequencies streaming event and decided to use the same rig I've been using for a bit. This is the final showing for this rig for a while! 124 improvised techno with a few edits to keep it under 30 minutes.

Thank you for watching. My name is Jeremy, and this is Red Means Recording. I've been making music for a few decades now, and this channel is a place to make music and to talk about the tools and techniques to make music with. We'll use synths, drum machines, modular gear, and software.

"The problem with the rig is that it became self aware."
Man, I cannot get enough of this channel. I've been messing around with creating electronic music on my DAW for years, but only recently started to get into eurorack and synths. My background is in jazz and I feel like I'm back in junior high band learning how to improvise all over again. This feels like an entirely new world for me and I'm devouring this content right now. I love it.
I think it's so cool that across all these different performances and tunes, this rig always sounds distinctly like itself.
Yeah you're totally right. It has a vibe. It's cool to think of it that way.
... and within an hour of uploading, you've got more views than the number of people who attended the event this was made for. Thanks for posting this where a wider audience can see it!
Ahaha
Yeah I have no genre name for this either so
Pure hilarity0!.... I love it. Love your detailed "under the skin" explanation of just what's going on here, hahaha. My comment was more Homer Simpson's view on the whole situation of just how much information his brain will allow in the door at one time

you make chunks of my work day SO MUCH BETTER and more productive too, thank you!!!!!!
This single handedly just made me not only interested in modular but now im in,take my money
I donno if what I'd call this is strictly "techno", but I do know that I'd call it absolutely baller and worthy of several re-listens.
Edit: Wait, there's the techno- Ignore the first part of what I said. I was wrong and also a fool.
Hilarious also hi nkozi !
@@zbsfm Hi Z!
Sir, you are great.
The one-year descent from "I'll got a 0-Coast and some modules let's see what happens" to this rig should serve as a warning to anyone looking to "dip their toes" in eurorack.
beautiful! i love the dissonance becoming harmonies
Red, that's RAd!!!
Absolutely killed it!
I love modular style Jeremy. Clearly melody is super important in your setup.
Wow, couldn‘t stop watching. So great!
Such a brilliant set. Thank you for posting!
I have checked Thomann's synthesizer channel nearly every day impatiently waiting for them to quit dragging their heels and post *this* performance so I could see it again. (& again, etc.)
This is such a bomb performance.
fantastic, evolving, so much texture.
Excellent set
hello, I have used some of your music for my videos, so THANK YOU for creating such beautiful sounds and for so selflessly making them available to everybody.
10 / 10: would head-bop to in a club.
This is a glorious wall of sound! 👏👏👏👏👏
I love how you set up simple changes to make great transitions happen. Really great set!
Just marvellous.
JEREMY! it's too good, that is all
It`s really awesome!
Hit this one out of the park Jeremy. Wish I'd caught it live.
At the end of the set he should of played "the bomb has been defused" sample
4:35 is nasty man. Great track!
Truly on another level.
Sooooooooo dooooooooooooooope !!
Great jam, what a crazy dream machine you have there
This was amazing!
Mmmmmm.... spaghetti, my favorite
Fantastic stuff again! Every set seems to both last forever, and be over too soon, just getting lost in the noisescape
wowowow . this is wow, you are wow! I feel a bit wow now too :) I miss hearing your voice though.
sounds like floating points at times. amazing work!
Huge inspiration
Bro, this is fantastic 🤖
Killer!
Stupendous set jeremy !!
Really great set!
superb
I just ordered a Pique module, and then here it is in use....twice...
nice intro them noise engineering mods are super dope
I loooove them
as good as always
I'm gunna watch it now 😊
When the left hand pop up at 0:06 my brain said "wow!"
Great set!
Awesome!
This is seriously incredible! :D
I wonder how much a re-routing of the triggers change the nature of this rig's music. Certainly the drum sequencer and the arpegiator/sequencer/probability chord box all have a general flavor set up by the envelopes and effects... But beyond that, have your recent sets evoked .most of the variation of this set of modules, the performances do all feel very different and awesome in their own way.
very nice
Thank you for reuploading "Run The World" was an absolute shitshow and none of the panels I watched were very watchable.
:(
Would you be open to doing a review/demo of Rene? There are a lot of tutorials for it, but I couldn’t find a single video that really shows what it’s capable of. I’ve never seen it shine, so it’s hard for me to know if I want one. You use it a lot in your videos, but I don’t know exactly what part it’s playing in your jams. Would love if you would do this, because I know you could really display how great it is, in a way others haven’t.
Ya done good keed 🤙🏼🙏🏼🖖🏼
introduction has a very Giegling/Map.Ache vibe to it.
tasty af
Dear Lord that is a nice rig !!!! Were's Maths lol
cool set. when you do these would it be possible to explain your patches afterwords for us noobs?
Check the video description
Dammit, I had to pause it at 4mins and go get my headphones...
First: you continue to amaze and inspire.
I've watched this a few times and I'm still not sure how you are changing the drums for different scenes. I see that steppy is handling , at least, the claps but I'm not sure how it's looking because I don't see the led walking through the full sequence. Any insights? Sequenciing song parts is my main challenge with my rig. I have classic Rene and steppy along with grids ( which I don't love).
Check the video description for a walkthrough
4 cases? Damm.

Whoa
What are you sequencing your drums with?
Is dat intro chord a sample on 4ms STS? This is awesome
Yup. It's samples!
