My late father in law (a police officer) had one of these (same colour even, but I don’t remember the red seat) from new in 1957. He used it every day, in all weathers until buying his first car (a Morris Oxford) in 1967. it never missed a beat and the build quality was superb. The local BMC dealer took it as a part-exchange towards the car and a local man bought it from them. He ran it until 1971 when mechanical spares became unavailable and he scrapped it.
