Thanks. Here at Costco a gallon of cider is $7 for the real stuff. I made 7 gallons or so which is about $50 worth of cider. Normally with two people we could make dozens of gallons in an hour or two with this setup.
That's awesome! Thank you for sharing! I just ordered the equipment, gonna be a boat load of 'juice', hard cider and apple wine next year! Much love from Stockholm, Sweden.
Thanks for the great demo video. How many presses do you get from the pillow case before having to change it out? I would think it would clog very quickly with such a tight mesh. Have you tried pressing fruit pulp ground up with typical grinders in this?
@@cowteeth7950 All right, very interesting how differently the terms are used in the USA and Europe. I'm also going to buy an apple press soon, as my trees are getting big enough to make it worthwhile.
I have a screw type press, a black mosquito net (worn over the head), found at Walmart Sporting goods dept, does an awesome job to catch the fines. Where did you source that nice aluminum funnel?
Just noticed. That looks like a 3/4 to 1/2 inch reducer used in plumbing. That is why you are not getting a good seal. You'll have to find an female hose to 3/4 adapter.
Yup, I am trying to find the right piece and then I'll add the link to the description. It'll be tricky. I have to remove the current piece first. I think I'll have to heat it up and pry it off.
Struggling with the measurements. Is two gallons about eight liters? That’s was my google result, and it does not look like eight liters. Anyway the flow of the juice was definitely impressive!
Pretty ingenious way of making apple cider

That's slick. I was thinking a single stainless sink might work to hold the sinkerator, but it might be more hassle than it's worth.

Have fun! We're still drinking from this batch because we made so much.
Thats just apple juice.😂..... you just squeezed some apples. No fermenting, no yeasts, no nothing. 😂.
Apple juice marinated wild bore. mmmmmm

It hasn't clogged on me yet. It works extremely well.
Don't see myself doing this but still impressed to see you do it. All our apples go towards my wife's killer pie and cobbler😋
If only I could find large amounts of free apples. None here in FL.
Is it not apple juice? I know cider as a kind of apple wine with alkohol. Did you ferment the apple juice with yeast later?
This is exactly what I was thinking

Cider has to be cold pressed, if there is heat involved it’s juicing.

Love the Shrute farms shirt. Going to try making some cider!
Let me know how it goes! We love ours. Put a dash of cinammon in some of the bottles too, even better.
Lovely video thanks for sharing
Thanks for watching =)
Try to make sure when you source a disposal you make sure it’s got all stainless steel interior. Many are not ✅✅✅
Love it

If you’re using heat, you’re juicing. You have to cold process to make cider.
You’re a useful person in a sea of less useful people.
Haha thanks.
Now ferment and distill😂
Why not just let the grinder dump the pulp right into the press?
I like this step better

Maybe I messed a jar. Hard to measure by eyesight.
1 gallon = 3.78 liters
