- Once a tightly guarded secret known only to thousands of our closed beta testers, the Celestial Armada have finally arrived. The Celestials are a race of highly technologically advanced interstellar travelers who have come to Earth to challenge the demonic Infernal Host for control over our planet-with humanity caught in the middle.

We need our zerg faction so the lead dev can alter them to be broken af and then claim his faction is the weakest in the game. Then when any faction gets a quality counter, he can low key nuke their range and damage to ensure his precious zerg are always able to kite any counter and steal any unit that cant be kited for free whenever he gets outmenuvered.
Totally not being specific to anyone in particular.

Don't expect all angels to be good, there will be extreme factions like the Taldarim, in Hazbin Hotel, there's the Exterminators under Adam

Frost Giants should be a summonable unit in the Game! similar to the Water and Fire Elementals in Warcraft, but made from ICE, and… Giant in size. (An ultimate or high level spell) That really would be COOL.

Now that I've seen the third faction, despite my genuine love for the team, the concept, and the game, I REALLY hope they introduce a fourth faction so that this game won't look like StarCraft 2.5 with the same old three factions in slightly different forms.
Same! We know it'll be three factions for Early Access, but I'm really hoping for a fourth for the full 1.0 launch.
Agreed. 4th faction would add a lot to this game and make games more interesting with greater variety.
They plan to release many more from my understanding. Which I am excited about!

I feel like the Infernal - Celestial dynamic is too similar to the Zerg - Protoss.
A seemingly unstoppable horde appears and destroys all in its path, and a highly advanced race rises to fight them, while humanity is desperately clinging on to survival

they look protoss, but they play like GDI.
likewise the daemons are a copy/paste of WC3's Undead. Not zerg.

I was hoping for something other than the classic Demon vs Angels, but the mechanical technologist part of them might be the difference I needed.

I mean sure Starcraft's lore is certainly it's own thing but it's primary inspiration ain't exactly hidden...
The trio Demon-Humain-Angel is a bit "done" and unsurprising. I love the direction of techbased angel, yet I would have gone for nature and mutants

Yes the Protoss do seem to be inspired by the ELDAR. and the Eldar are basically like an advanced Eleven race (space Elves) So wouldn’t it be cool if they had made the third faction like a futuristic/advanced Night Elves faction? Baisically a race that is very in tune with the ways of nature but also technologically advanced as well. It could make for interesting and unique choices for units. But they choose to play it safe by basically making a Protoss clone.

I still hope for a 4th faction. Something like Warcraft 3 Night Elf with a slightly touch of future technology.
Could even be complete nature magic. No need for technology as it is powerful enough to complete. Maybe even some sentient plants that is kinda zergish. Xel naga not getting a race of its own was kinda a let down for with StarCraft.
That would make the game hard to balance.
Also, Night Elf already feels like Protoss.

As someone who doesn't enjoy playing protoss, having tried this race already I can say it is really fun and different. The energy mechanic is really unique and adds a layer of complexity for those who wants that without being unreasonable to learn either. As a terran enjoyer in SC2 I like how some of the buildings can move around and the versatility of the Celestial Armada.
This faction is absolutely perfect thematically and aestheticly!!!

Ok, Frost Giant Studios, I will be honest. I had some doubts about playing as humans or demons, but after revealing Celestial Armada you got me! Can't wait to play!
It lost me. If I want to play demons vs angels I'll go back to diablo. If I want a good Rts I'll play Starcraft or Age of Empires.

The first two factions being Human/Terran and Demon/Zerg was a pretty dead give away for the third being Angel/Protoss
Still, it looks fun, and I guess the point was to be a spiritual successor to Starcraft

@@Ultrox007 well, depends if you consider cheese a play style, then is "not" "nothing like" protoss. it's the cannon rush race, at least in my experience playing CvC (?).
you can do really stupid and fun stuff with them. the spellcasters looked weak tho. everyone that tried them I kry/vector them to death.
Nah, starcraft is more inspired by starship troopers and alien vs predator than 40k. People who try to draw connections to Protoss and eldar have little grounds other than "future technology" which is hardly unique to the eldar.
They are extremely fun to play

Seems very interesting to warp in even buildings, while fighting. Made some really cool interactions possible in WC3. I hope they bring alot of weird stuff into the game like in WC3 with the nice mechanics of SC2 and without heroes.

I think I have seen this before since I am an Universe at War player (Masari race Light/Dark mode).
Anyway, no problem with reusing mechanics if u give some of your own input also.

I understand that Angels were an obvious choice for the third faction, but I was kinda hoping it would be something else. Something like corrupted Wild Life, or Corrupted Plants would’ve been cool. I have no doubt this faction will be “well-made” but none of the factions have creativity to them.

Hey I don’t know who is reading these comments but I think I have a really cool idea.
So when you start a game in any rts there is so much tension built before a match. And it feels terrible in my opinion to sit and wait for a loading screen to finish only to be thrown into a match requiring your full on attention. A solution could be a small little in game cutscene for each of the factions you would play, so let’s say I’m playing infernals and my match just loads in, what if I had this cool dynamic cutscene of the infernal base coming out of the ground from hell and the camera slowly adjust itself to its base position for a seamless transition, then the game starts, it seems like a small thing but I think it could go a long way.

@@L3monsta Nah. It's because you so rarely get to play *as* actual angels so they aren't on the top of my mind when thinking about RRS factions. The fact they're the obvious choice for the setting doesn't make them unoriginal.

Liking the ark ship consept a lot makes crating structures way more interesting them make thing in this zone
classic infernals vs heavenly. The truth is that they have a quite protoss design, especially the KRI. Maybe I would have preferred a design that was more angelic and spiritual than technological because of my tastes, but they are still great designs.

Angel protoss, not incredibly unique aesthetic/theme wise but I'm looking forward to seeing how their unique mechanics like the energy and mothership building mix things up. Would have been cool to introduce them in a more lore focused way, but then again the cinematics need a couple of improvements so this might be have been the best plan
