@szlomobronsztajn3115 He's more CCP now because his son Jaycee was caught with enough weed to be charged as a dealer, which carries a death sentence, probably without a trial! If they didn't before, they own Jackie's soul now! If Jackie wasn't who he is, his son would've been executed immediately. OT: Donnie Yen is also pro CCP, has the same views, has said similar sh!t, but somehow, nobody has a problem with him. Hmm...
@@wf2nd731 bro, he's been playing in english movies since forever, he can speak proper english in his older movies but currently he speaks like he just got off the boat in US... and I didn't say anything about patriotism being bad but he appears more loyal to the party than to the country, let's not mistake those two ;)
7:45 Those guys you mentioned earlier; Martial Club are actually doing the same thing. Their videos are often homages to old school Hong Kong Martial Arts cinema and Jackie Chan-like scenarios, stunts and fights. They actually brought this attitude to Shang-Chi and the Legend of the 10 rings (fun fact; Andy Le, one of those guys from Martial Club plays the deathdealer in the movie. He's the guy in the mask). And they most definitely brought this style of Martial Arts action comedy into the fight scenes in Everything Everywhere All At Once (Andy and Brian Le were those guys in the buttplug trophy fight scene).
What made those old Jackie Chan fight scenes so great for me was the combination of creativity and the sheer athleticism that he displayed. It’s so hard to find people with that combination
Cobra Kai. That kid from the old movie has been leading a dojo for 6 seasons. This movie is linking the og movies, the Jackie Chan movie and the show together
1:28 Yoooo @martialclub shoutout. They are the best! Also when you mention that nobody will replace Jackie in action films, Andy Le from martial club can absolutely fill that role, their making a feature film now and I'm sure they will become household names in no time.
Rantoni talking about Jackie Chan is top content and what I am here for! Enjoyed the days back in the streams where youtube unfortunately had to ban you when you were streaming on both youtube and twitch.
I'm pretty hype for this movie, and the fact that a good chunk of this movie was shot in my city (Montreal) gets me even more excited. Fun fact, the intro scene where they are training is actually shot in the Botanical Garden in Montreal, which has multiple sections such as a Chinese Garden, Japanese Garden and etc. And of course, this one in particular is in the Chinese garden. So if anyone is ever visiting Montreal in the summer, I highly suggest you visit, it's very beautiful. And love your videos btw! The breakdown was soo good, I completely missed the jacket on and off! Edit: I too grew up watching Jackie Chan, he shaped my childhood too, that it feels like this guy should be invincible...amd I think this is the only downside, because we always expect Jackie to do some insane and unique stuff as mentioned in this video. Until we remember that he actually is 70 now.
I'm excited for this movie. Karate Kid was the first thing that made me fell in love with China as a kid and later on getting the idea to study chinese and Sinology at the University. This movie basically changed my life LOL
It's nice to see how passionate a martial artist gets by seeing martial arts moving on and trying wacky and interesting things in the entertainment media.

1:04 Fun fact, this and a lot of city shots were actually filmed in my hometown Montréal! We have a really nice chinatown here, and Jackie's dojo/school is actually in our botanical garden's chinese garden!
it makes me both sad and happy how jackie chan began his career as a replacement for bruce lee, with people saying that he would never reach the level bruce lee reached on the big screen. but to prove them wrong and surpass all expectations to the point where there can be no replacement for jackie chan, is eye watering and heart wrenching at the same time ( respect to the 2 chinese heroes who shaped the childhood of many generations) thank you jackie chan, for giving us so many great, funny, thrilling, exciting, deep movies.
Jackie will always be a badass, regardless of his age. Grew up on those films just as my mom did, watching them with my grandfather, who was also a huge fan of Jackie. Multiple generations of fans, man. You can always go back and watch his films and find new things, and that's wicked as hell. Looking forward to this movie as a fan of the original.
i used to love jackies scenes, and for a long time i didn't even realise WHY, i was just like, "maybe he's just better than others" but then i was watching this montage of different guys, tony jaa, jet lie, donnie yen, jackie chan, and i noticed, the only ones that stuck out for me was, the scenes with jackie because in almost all of his fight scenes he's always getting rocked in one way or antoher, he never gets out clean he's always "making a mistake" and getting jack up by the bad guy before fighting his way back to the win, and i think that's a great way to show fight scenes, it's what i love about john wick is their are scenes where you can literally watch wick struggle to load the guns, or ight the bad guy, it's great
About the mix of both martial arts.if you watch Cobra kai, you'll learn that Mr Miyagi karate also has some ancestry from China, with some chinese coins in a time capsule Miyagi had. He also did boxing in his early days, and knew a "deadlier" miyagi-do karate, using pressure points, maybe he learned it there?
We had a Block Buster down the road growing up, and I used to get Jackie Chan movies every month at least. He's one of the first people that I remember making martial arts look fun, and part of why I started practicing myself.
I love Jackie, i have been watching his movies for 35 years. He was the reason i studied martial arts when i was a teen and in those days i was so into Hong kong comic books which were in english as well. I miss those days.
The new Karate Kid, Ben Wang, has already shown off his martial arts skills (and his acting chops, too) in the show American Born Chinese. Which would be awesome to see you review, as it's a modern continuation of the Journey to the West story. Lots of fun kung fu action, and tons of references to the source material. The cast is great too, and includes Michelle Yeoh as a kind, grandmotherly Guanyin

Jackie is a legend, not only him, but sammo hung, yuen biao, yuen wah. We need more crazy gongfu acrobats. Yuen biao backflipped from a third floor of a building in flames, landed and said some lines all in one take.
Drunken Master and Police Story were on repeat all the time growing up, if i think about movie fight scenes only one man comes to my mind and its Jackie. I cant wait for this movie tbh and yes the Jaden Karate Kid is overhated and clowned on but that movie has so much heart it is a comfort watch.

Good thing you mentioned Martial Club because that jackknife with a leg sweep combo was ANDY LE level of tricking. They worked with Jackie before so if they did they stunts for this is going to look amazing.
The thing when it comes to todays fight scenes is that everyone wants look cool untouchable and maybe invincible but Jackie does a good way he shows that even if you are really good at you can still get hit and he makes it look realistic
Dude same, my dad loves Jackie Chan and old Kung Fu movies. I was showing my girlfriend Jet Li and she was like: Who is that? My jaw dropped, the legacy of old Kung Fu movies might be slipping into obscurity but never in my family.
Funny thing is Karate speak Shorin Ryu is south chinese Mok Gar Kung fu, added with a little white crane for evasion and some okinawa handfighting techniques. Things like Goju Ryu is basically míng hè quán. And the shorei Ryu techniques in Shotokan are just black Tiger Kung fu. Still south shaolin temple rather took up 5 elders kung fu instead mok gar while reestablishing.
In the series cobra kai, they delve deep into the lore, philosophy and techniques of Miyagi Do, the style of karate practiced by the original Karate Kid Daniel and his master Mr Miyagi, how it's supposed to be free and circular (like Baguazhang) as well as a heavy emphasis on meditation and breathing (like Tai Chi and Chi Gong). They also delve deep into the Cobra Kai style used by the original rival Johnny and his master Kreese, how it's focused on explosive movement like Shaolin Kungfu and Korean Tang Soo Do, which is based on Karate. They emphasise balance between both styles, while Miyagi Do is perhaps too defensive and Cobra Kai is too offensive, a mix of both turns the practitioner into a complete and more practical martial artist. I feel like something similar will happen with this film, except they delve deeper into the history of Mr Miyagi, the final season has teased alot about his past, but it seems like the conclusion is yet to come, the season is still airing. Perhaps Miyagi, who was born in 1925, had been to China and met Han'a father or grandfather at some point in time, and they both would have learned from each other and improved their own styles, making them two branches of the same tree.
According to the original Karate Kid movies (I believe part 2), Miyagi-do Karate was founded after one of Miyagi's ancestors wound up in China and learned from martial artists there. Maybe the reveal is going to be that Mr. Han came from the kung fu tradition that Shimpo Miyagi adapted from, and at some point in the past they had connected over that.
For kids born after 2010, Jackie Chan was the GOAT of action movies for decades. Before superheroes were the trend it was action movies with heavy amounts of martial arts and parkour before it was even called parkour, and Jackie was the main man in the industry starring as the lead in the best ones being made, from the mid 70's up to the early 2000's . Hell, Jackies stunts actually heavily inspired the parkour and freerunning sport/hobby. And the man did all his own stunts, and put his body through hell to entertain the masses. For any who havent seen his work or just wanna revisit it, might i suggest the Drunken Master, Who am I?, Police story, and Rush Hour are some of my fav off the top of my head.
Jackie is 70years old now, for a guy with all of those accidents through out the years to still be able to perform they way he is.. ITS INSANE! it just proves hes the GOAT! (yes i know hes using stunt doubles in his later movies but still..)
100% right about Jackie. He is the GOAT. All his fights and stunts feel so grounded and real, he takes hits, he gets injured, but also does cool stuff. The Michael Jordan of martial arts movies and stunts. Irreplaceable.
There’s a beat in the background, like small drums, I know it’s just drums but I can’t help but remember Karate Kid 2, the final fight where Mr.Miyagi uses that small drum device to inspire Dani.
Jackie is the goat!! I remember staying up late, waiting for my dad to be done with his work. If I had managed to stay awake we would watch a movie together, and more often than not I picked one of Jackie’s movies (or Jet Li occasionally) 😭
Nobody is going down that path of Jackie Chan's style because it takes a lot of skills to hone two elements. Timing of action choreograph and timing of comedy - it takes special talent to able to do both and combine them. Also, he's creative as hell.
3 34...... How much do you wanna bet that Jackie's character is the descendent of the person who taught Miyagi's ancestor when he drifted from ancient Okinawa to the shores of China.
Ill be honest, karate kid 2010 is one of my favourite films of all time, i dont care if its goofy at times, that tournament segment at the end was the most fire thing i saw as a kid
Karate originated from fujian kung fu mixed with ryukyuan martial arts, so the kung fu karate crossover kinda makes sense, especially the "two branches one tree" quote. (less so bc southern kung fu vs northern kung fu)
Seeing Jackie chan in Drunken master all the way back in 1978 compared to now is really hard to see. That movie is my absolute favourite Jackie chan movie of all time and just shows how insanely athletic he was in his early 20s
To be fair, lots of people said no one would replace Buster Keaton, but Jackie Chan did (albeit decades later). This style of physicality in movies may return. Just need someone who's willing to get really hurt, which is what set Buster and Jackie apart from other entertainers. The risks those two took!
in Cobra Kai it’s confirmed Mr Miyagi actually travelled to China for a bit, we don’t know why but i feel like Wudang and Miyagi Do are the “one tree”. I am pretty sure Mr Han knew Miyagi personally or maybe his dad
Bro, I remember watching Jackie Chan when I was younger. Seeing him older now feels like too much time has flown by.

Dude same, my dad loves Jackie Chan and old Kung Fu movies. I was showing my girlfriend Jet Li and she was like: Who is that? My jaw dropped, the legacy of old Kung Fu movies might be slipping into obscurity but never in my family.
Karate Kid: A film about Capoeira fighting greek wrestlers doing MMA in Beijing who discover the secrets of Tae Kwan.
Your daily videos are the only thing i look forward to these days, thank you !
Wow, thank you!
@RealRantwo
Most of young actors and actresses worked together with Jackie Chan come and go but Jackie is still there...the legend.
Guys, Jackie Chan is made to look older in his movie. Chan looks 20 years younger without the makeup 😂
Wheels on meals fight with Benny jet and Jackie was crazy as all hell. They really hurt each other
8:35 ngl that's a good motif if the films was about chaos in order
Martial Club, which you featured also does the similar choreography/ styles that Jackie does. Andy and Brian are awesome!
If this karate kid dosen't have a Justin Bieber singing Never say never, Im not watching
Rantoni and jaiden smith being the 2 karate kids would be hard
Yin-Yang literally
Nice shout out to the martial art club! You should review some of their old content haha
I’m hyped! I grew up on Jackie chan movies
In the 2010 karate kid movie in the scene where Jackie is fighting those teens it was truly a "F them kids" moment.
3 34...... How much do you wanna bet that Jackie's character is the descendent of the person who taught Miyagi's ancestor when he drifted from ancient Okinawa to the shores of China.
As someone who likes karate kid and cobra kai and literally grew up watching jackie Chan movies, this trailer just hits me in the feels
damn, ranton knows martial club. The collab would be epic
0:09 LIKE WHOOO?????????
"Oh, Jackie, you're so old..."
Wait until he realizes Ralph Macchio & Jackie Chan are practically the same age....lol
6:15 Jonh China 😂
2:35 If you think Jackie chan is old, Try google Ralph Macchio ( Daniel La Russo ) age
