It ain't about who got who. Its music. Enjoy it, play it if you can and hear it. Stop all the competing. There's enough room for everyone to get some. I played with Wynton and he let me get sum and it was great. I'm no jazz bone but I got a lil bit that night. It was awesome. d' Mo Brass!
Yo Shorty's got the youth and the young lungs but Wynton's got the wisdom. Can't beat that. I love them both but my vote goes to Wynton. Sorry Shorty. Marsalis has the jazz and classical nailed.
Look there no compettion . But Marsalis is a master of jazz and trumpet. To say Shorty is at his level is off. But Shorty is great trumpet player. My grandfather was bunny berigan. He loved all the trumpet players.
Hello Julian! You should first get a chord and scale book. There's a very good one by Bugs Bower. Then you should get the sheet music to this tune and learn every scale/chord in the song. Then get a recording and learn note for note any of the solos you like (a sometimes difficult process but the best way to start learning improvisation). Lastly, go to jam sessions and play and improv on the tune so that you start to develop how to utilize the tools you're working with.
@eaglefan71 your an eagles fan so gtfo. All about the New Orleans Saints! Btw trombone shorty is one of the best and this was rehearsed, I was there as well.
