The captain wasting everybody’s time and then abandoning the ship and leaving everyone behind after allowing the water to flood the ship is actually despicable. He is totally responsible for the unfathomable loss of life 💔

The 3rd story about the Sewol Ferry still pisses me off especially because the Korean government was offered help by the US and they declined saying that they didn't need help, and because of that a lot of people in Korea didn't believe in the government and the police because the families were lied to saying that they kids were safe

For the second guy I don't think he deserved life in prison but he definitely should've gotten some time and sent to a mental institution because even if it's consent cannibalism is still illegal and morally wrong. Atleast he wanted willing people and wasn't a serial killer
I wrote this before hearing your opinion kidd 😭 but yeah I agree with you.
For the sewol ferry tragedy I've seen so many videos on it of people begging the rescuers to go and dive. Pleading with the government to not hide the truth and breaking down in tears. Local officials actually refused to go and send divers. Alot of the officials involved went without punishment for a long time and I think less than a handful got punished.

I don't believe that Armin Meiwes should be in prison for life but he also shouldn't just be set free...I believe he should be in a psychiatric hospital receiving treatment.
I read that he was diagnosed with schizoid personality but deemed fit to stand.
Also many other people responded to the advertisement but backed out; Meiwes did not attempt to force them to do anything against their will.
afterwards he spoke with a German newspaper and expressed regret for his actions. He also said he wants to write a bo9ks o-a biography with the aim of deterring/stopping anyone who might want to follow in his footsteps.
When speaking to a German newspaper, Meiwes admitted cannibalising Brandes and expressed regret for his actions. He added he wants to write a biography with the aim of deterring anyone wanting to follow in his footsteps.
"Websites dedicated to Meiwes started appearing after his 2002 arrest, with people advertising for willing victims. "They should go for treatment, so it doesn't escalate like it did with me," said Meiwes. While in prison, Meiwes has since become a vegetarian.

I heard about the Sewol Ferry because I had watched a video explaining the meaning behind the Run mv by BTS and the whole situation is sad because you could leave the house thinking it’s a good day and you’re gonna have the best time on a field trip just to possibly die and never see your family again

6:49 I’m no expert, but I know (from true crime content) most cadaver dogs and search and rescue dogs can track a scent up to two weeks. But the dogs are more successful at tracking a scent up to 5 or 7 days. It depends on many factors (like weather, environment, etc...) Also, I swear, I am always watching your videos when I’m eating dinner 💀
    Edit: corrected a spelling mistake.

Today Armin Meiwes is a vegetarian. Before Bernd Brandes, another man came to his huge 36 rooms house and he changed his mind at the last minute and Armin let him leave because he wanted someone who was willing to die, he never lured victims to his place.

About the first story, there was once a youtube channel called '112dirtbag' where the creator would post cryptic videos about the case. The most popular video on the channel was called 'happy anniversary' where an old guy can be seen laughing before winking and showing the text 'happy anniversary' this video was uploaded on the 8th anniversary of the case. The channel got the attention and made the police search the creator's home but found nothing. But they did learn that this creator had nothing to do with the case nor was he connected at all. He was just some crazy old guy that wanted to insert himself into the case.

The first one where the woman disappeared in the snow on the side of the road where her SUV was in a snowbank...well, there couldn't be something that would make her scent disappear from a bloodhound's nose. But not every sniffer dog is a bloodhound. They're just the best. A bloodhound can sniff out a victim's scent that's a year old and for up to a mile away from the last known location...unless, they got in a car and it drove away. But the car was still there.
The second one, I already knew about, as soon as I heard the name Armin Meiwes, I said, "Oh, that German cannibal guy." That piece of Brandis that Armin cut off was Brandis' downstairs area. I think also, after Armin was arrested, he said in to either a newspaper or the police in prison that there were 800 cannibals in Germany as of that moment. Crazy.
As for the last one, the Sewol ferry incident that happened in 2014, or as I call it the "Korean Titanic," was just all-around effed up. The ship wasn't built for that sort of weight and they constantly overloaded it all the time. The captain was a huge coward. It reminds me of the shipwreck that happened in 2012 over in Italy, when the Costa Concordia cruise ship, which was owned by Carnival Cruises via an Italian subordinate company, ran aground off the coast of the island of Giglio (pronounced JEE-lee-oh). The captain was trying to show off and go really fast towards the shore and then honk the horn. It was the middle of the night and it would have pissed off all the islanders, but delighted the ship's guests. Unsurprisingly, this didn't go too well, because the helmsman (driver) didn't understand Italian or English very well at all. He was from Indonesia. Came very cheaply, too, and never drove a ship before. The crew didn't follow procedure about giving new coordinates every time the captain gave a new directional order. Just eyeballing it wasn't going to work. And because of some misunderstandings, they got too close to the island, scraped up against a rock and it tore a HUUUGE hole in the side, destroying the engine room and electric machines were fried. The captain was in denial of the situation and postponed calling for abandoning ship until it was practically too late. 33 people died in the sinking. You can still find pictures of the ship laying on it's right side in the water on the internet to this day. The captain got like sixteen years in jail for abandoning the ship like a coward, the deaths of the victims and endangering of all the survivors, and some other charges. Internet Historian has a fantastic video on this subject. It's called The Cost of Concordia.

I think everyone is focusing on what the captain did but if you ask me the guys at the top who allowed extra rooms to be built should be in prison right with him for negligence, this wouldn’t of happened if the ship wasn’t in that condition to begin with. Don’t get me wrong the captain was a coward and could’ve saved so many lives but it seemed like there had to be a fall guy and instead of blaming the guys responsible for the ship being like that, they would rather give the captain all the time and close the case. 🤷🏽‍♂️

    • @tiffanykim2773
      @tiffanykim2773 Рік тому +7

I get your point but at the end of the day the Captain still fucked up because he could have saved everyone but chose to focus on himself mainly. He left them to die. Yes others should have paid for what happened but he could have made a difference and he purposely made it worse by stranding them their dude. It's alot of people to blame

3 - Idk I felt like she was trying to get away very intentionally. Like she sorta took care of everything, asked them not to call the police, made up a family death (for herself???). Who knows what really happened
2 - no words. As for the sentence the things for me is that even doctors arent even allowed to help someone willingly die in most states, which is a whole grey area. Killing someone is still illegal even 100% voluntary, and snuff (filming it) is too
1 - This was a multistep failure of so many preventable actions from the corruption to the evacuation order. Make me furious and sad

I suggest watching a two part video on the Sewol Ferry by Brick Immorter. He goes into details about what happened, and how much of a really clusterfuck EVERYTHING was. It wasn't just the captain being a negligent pos, it was worse, and I've never been more pissed off hearing of a disaster in my life with the exception of the El Farro's sinking, it's that scummy.
You want more disasters of shitty captains, see also Costa Concordia, and the Oceanos. The latter story, everyone survived because the ships band coordinated the rescue.
