If you dont drink wine no you cant tell the difference BUT whats more relatable is if you drink coca cola then someone gives you RC cola you WILL know the difference lol thats what wine people do...Im into knives I cant expect anyone whos not into pocket knives to understand why one knife is $15 and the other is $800...its a hobby you dont know anything about wine why are you buying it for a freind?
I was thrown off by this segment at first, but I actually believe it belongs here. Its important to show people how to affordably participate in social activities without showing up empty-handed.
@justoguillermomontoya3821 I don't think this falls under gifting versus hospitality and hosting, or participating in social situations. For example, an event with a new employer or co-workers.
I love this change of pace content style. I’m in a phase of cutting expenses, budgeting and paying off debt. I run little split tests like this to see if a cheaper product still holds up quality wise.
I work at TJ’s part time. Apothic Red flies off the shelf and is delicious. One of the crew members’ faves. Decoy is great, but most people who drink it are the older generation that you can tell have money to spend.
I paid $60 for a bottle of actual champagne one year and $150 for a bottle of Dom Perignon because I wanted to know what the big deal was and I could only do that by tasting it for myself. To me, they were both fine, but not worth $60 and $150 and the Dom was not worth more than twice the less expensive champagne to me. I would just prefer Prosecco or another cheaper sparkling wine.
All wine tastes the same to me, like some form of diluted ethyl alcohol. It's the one area where my palate is hypersensitive, alcohol. But cooking with it, that's a whole other country. With cheese, I grate from a block of Parmesan, put little piles of it on a Silpat, bake it at 350ºF for 9-11 minutes. And you've got Parmesan crisps. Easy. Dessert: I've got so many, bakery goods can't compete. My personal favorite is a chocolate ganache tart with a Graham cracker crust, filled with a drunken sour apple caramel. That one's so good, the first time I brought it to Thanksgiving, my older brother went back for _fifths_ and that was a first for me. Pretty easy to assemble, too, once you've got the ganache and the caramel made. Just layer it in the crust ganache-caramel-ganache, put in the fridge to set up, and unmold it at the host's house, slicing into 1-inch wedges. It's rich enough that nobody feels skimped on, even with a slice that small. And it's still cheaper to make than any store-bought cake. The point: You don't have to spend a lot of money if you're willing to spend a little time, effort, and creativity.
I think it’s fun to have some variety here - but worth noting that preferences from someone who doesn’t regularly taste wine (beer, fine food, any category) aren’t necessarily informed. Not everyone loves bitter Amari, but it’s an acquired taste and many love them.
Jade's brownies look yummy. I'm sure they're delicious pieces of cake, but brownies are meant to be chewy. Ken said they were moist, which suggests not chewy. The corner of the brownie is my favorite part.
This is like comparing Ferraris and Corvettes. Both are gorgeous cars, very fast and sound amazing in their own ways, but I’ve still beaten many Ferraris even when my Vettes were bone stock for less than 1/2 the money. You’re buying the brand most of the time.
My recommendations for wine are dated as I just basically don't consume anymore except for a toast or a taste. Back when I did on red wines, it was a mainly Merlots. So. the best inexpensive was from Safeway called Quail Oak. My favorite more expensive Merlot was Rodney Strong. Since I haven't tried either of these in a while additional research would be warranted. Good Luck and please don't drive impaired.
the quality and taste of a wine aren't necessarily a price thing. The price of a wine doesn't determine how good it will taste. logic says it should but it's a big misconception. Processes and how long it takes to make them are usually what determines the price including the status of the wine estate etc.
Well, as a person who has owned grapeyards, I can tell the difference between the wines and beers and their prices. However, the majority of people can not differentiate between different types of wines.
ROFL - I work in the wine business and taste preferences aside, almost everything factual they attempt to say about wine is misleading. You can drive a Porsche or a Dodge minivan, if you're just trying to get from A fo B and know nothing about cars, then yes the difference will be lost on you. There is a large difference lol. Quality of the fruit pick, oak types, amount of additives to stabilize the wine. Apotheke is basically bologna, it's made with massively sprayed fruit. Drink it all you want Jade and others but don't tell me later you don't like eating "processed" foods bc that juice is about as sprayed as you can get.
I like this, but gifts usually you need to think of price on general gifts. If you want to go cheap make it or do something custom. But if you're bringing to a party go for it just bring what you like
With all the negative comments about yellow Tail, I feel like a Philistine, but Yellowtail Chardonnay is my regular white wine of choice. It used to be TJ white organic but they don't carry it anymore
@macpduff2119 I had a friend who turned me into a wine Drinker. I started with Yellow tail and then tried other brands I liked better. I still go for the cheaper brands.
I'm portuguese for us cheap real cheap here is 1 dollar or 2, but it's easy to taste, which is really bad. Now above 7 or 8 dollars it can match the flavours of wine ls above 40 or 50. What will matter is personal taste. example I prefer younger wine and my dad older wine. I We can both blindfolded identify the taste it's not money but taste.
Happy Friday Ramsey solution. Wine should bring a story not base on the price. I like 100$ to 200$ scotch and there quality but I don't expect that as a gift I'm happy with a 10$ bottle as a gift. Aprotic red is a good entry level.
From a former wine-o 😂 I agree price should not determine the quality of a wine. Just like a microphone. In my opinion. Bring anything of value. Value to offer back for the kindness of the people inviting you. Value can be tangible. Or not. God moves 🙏🏾 **friendly tip. I enjoy the more expensive wines. However, she ain’t wrong about that Apothic Red. I never bought it cause it was too cheap. 😅 then it was the only real option at an event and I tasted it and I was like YOOO WHY HAVENT I BOUGHT THIS GOOD AND CHEAP. Great job Guys!
This is so stupid. Just don’t drink, simple as that. Or just don’t bring alcohol, simply as that. There are dozens of other things you can bring to a friends house or party.
OH Heavenly - Pouilly Fuse pinot Grigio wine has been my favorite all. my adult life, but I don't drink it because it is too expensive. However, I have found much cheaper whites that are more than adequate. This was a really enjoyable and helpful video. Please do more. 🙂
When I invite guest for dinner - I really wish they would not bring anything. If they bring wine, it probably won't go with the meal. I also work hard to make a very nice dessert, and I don't want to serve their Wal-mart pies.
Bringing a hostess gift is not necessarily meant to be consumed that evening with the meal. Its simply an expression of gratitude for the hosts to enjoy at their leisure
Jesus, you know God with us and saviour of the world. So turns out Jesus went to a wedding party and when the guests drank all the wine he turned water into wine to keep the party going.
I truly enjoy all of the Ramsey personalities. When they originally started airing episodes without Dave I really didn’t enjoy the episodes. Now I enjoy all of the different personalities mix matches either way. You guys are killing it. 👏🏻 Thank you for the show
I roll up to the parties with the beans and rice. And sometimes if I want to be fancy, the rice and beans. 😎
Before I leave the party, I sell their car.
😂
Lmao 😂😂😂😂 .
@IHateNicolasCage lol 😂😅

I like this segment - do more of these
I was thrown off by this segment at first, but I actually believe it belongs here. Its important to show people how to affordably participate in social activities without showing up empty-handed.
Customs involving gifts are all stupid. It helps perpetuate the cycle of useless spending and consumption. Spending quality time is better
@justoguillermomontoya3821 I don't think this falls under gifting versus hospitality and hosting, or participating in social situations. For example, an event with a new employer or co-workers.
Winking Owl at Aldi is very underrated. It’s like $4
I've had it. It's gross.
A good reason to drink on the job 😂
Fun segment Jade and Ken!!!🎉
Most wine “connoisseurs” that I have known were really just alcoholics looking for an excuse to rationalize their addiction.
I haven't had a wine in 10+ years. I'm a beer "connoisseur". I'm an alcoholic that's found an excuse to rationalize having a refrigerator.
Hilarious 😂
@@davidbrayshaw3529 That works too, although beer drinkers don’t have the benefit of political correctness quite as much! 🤣
😂😂😂
Everyone already knew Ken was going to pick the crappy wine. Otherwise the segment would have bombed.
Besides Dave, all of them seem like they would be happy drunks.
I like the way Ken is still sipping that wine throughout 😉
Tbh, I’m not drinking the pricier stuff for tonight, I’m drinking it for how I will feel tomorrow.
Especially gin. I’m too old to drink rail gin.
A-friggin-men to THAT!
I love this change of pace content style. I’m in a phase of cutting expenses, budgeting and paying off debt. I run little split tests like this to see if a cheaper product still holds up quality wise.

I love Apotic Red
EVERYTHING tastes better when you paid cash for it!! 😊
Nah, when someone else paid cash for it
Ken be like finally some Wine with my Panda Express 😂 that he pays for with Dave’s Debit Card
Poor Jade after he slips out a silent but deadly after that combo.
@@JustinCase780 ROFL 😂

when they say, don't bring anything since I don't drink, I'll bring or a candle or a box of candy
I need that brownie recipe!!!
Happy to say that I have "beer taste on a champagne budget"! LOL! My kind of dinner parties happen outdoors, around a fire, with dogs and beer!
Beans & Rice .... who does it best?
Dave: “Unless you’re making $250,000 annually, you SHOULDN’T EVEN THINK ABOUT BUYING A NEW BOTTLE OF WINE. That’s just CRAZY”

Trader Joe's used to have 2 Buck Chuck. I think it's 3 Buck Chuck now, if you can get it. It goes fast.
Trader Joes used to also have cheap ORGANIC wine, but not after the Covid lockdown

OMG Apothic is my fave too!
Hummm, I love wine, I do have a cellar, guys...stick to finance😂😂😂
They should move this to a channel for 4,5,6 folks. Nobody on BS 3 or lower should have money to spend on wine, even if it's $9 a bottle.
The subject was 'what to bring as a hostess gift'.
I want this brownie recipe!
Like all products, somewhere in the middle, you get 90% of the value for 10% of the cost.
Smoothness is not an indicator of good red wine.
Don't be a wine snob, drink what you like....I love Woodbridge or Robert Mondavi wine.
This is the best segment ever
My norcal wine snob customers give me free wine all the time. I regift that junk. Alcohol ain't my thing.

Yellowtail Wine really is bottom of the barrel. I like the 19 crimes wine and that's usually $9-$12 a bottle.

Jade is good at This
Anyone got that brownie recipe? 😂
All wine is just fermented grapes. Everything else is just marketing. Most fruit is sold on freshness, except wine.
Said a sour grape.

Maybe, they can start taking off the labels so they don’t know the brand of the wine.😮
oohhh.. i need the brownie recipe 🥰
Aldi sells that Three Dollar Wine it's So Yummy
Ok, but how long has each bottle been open? As soon as a bottle of wine is opened and the air hits it, it starts to degrade.
Also Caymus conundrum
Yes lady the A red is also my choice 10 dollars not bad.
Yeah it's known across the nation as a good affordable wine.
Alcohol is a waste of money...period.
Hell no, gotta have some fun in life.
This is not the house Dave built
Jade! Where's that brownie recipe?! 🤩
I need brownies recipe now!
You didn’t make brownies in 5 minutes. You made them in a bout an hour !!!
0:42 yes. 😂
Cheap wine works as long as you get crunk
Lead with a moderately expensive bottle, then follow with good ole Chuck Shaw.
I'm just here to see the Baptist / CoC comments! :-D
I prefer Screaming Eagle wine
Cooper and thief and meomi are one of the great ones that are not too expensive
We’re big Apothic fans here though we do some pricier bottles for special occasions.
I cant believe they ran up their Credit 💳 Cards up for all that Wine 🤑🍷
This came from the last live show of 2023 - why has it taken so long to reach the Highlights channel?
Maybe they figure today people are going to be buying something to bring to a superbowl party?
Jade needs her own show!
Absolutely!!!!
I buy the expensive stuff because I want to taste it when I drink it.

Pouilly Fuisse is a Chardonnay.
Thats also my favorite red wine A . I add sprite to it
Y'all get to drink alcohol at work. I need to come work for y'all 😂
Drinking on the job.
Native advertisement for Apothic Red wine on the Ramsey Show?
Who has friends?
Apothic is yummy!
Are those Special Brownies??
I went to your Instagram... Your Brownie Recipe is not there... 😒
20$ is a good medium
It's probably the worst. You paid too much and it doesn't taste good.
Drinking on the job? Isn’t this against Dave’s Christian values?
He is backsliding, going woke
Chill out buzz kill. They are just tasting.
Jesus drank wine, Dave is a Christian so its okay for them to have a sip
Jesus, you know God with us and saviour of the world. So turns out Jesus went to a wedding party and when the guests drank all the wine he turned water into wine to keep the party going.
Dave w talked about drinking before
10 years ago, Apothic Red was absolute crap.
Still is
LOL! Glad I'm not the only one.
Lit ep
You gotta be rich to buy apothic red up here in Nova Scotia...21.99
Wow
I truly enjoy all of the Ramsey personalities. When they originally started airing episodes without Dave I really didn’t enjoy the episodes. Now I enjoy all of the different personalities mix matches either way. You guys are killing it. 👏🏻 Thank you for the show
I love this !!!! Its fun and its great and they are teaching us while making it fun
You need to drink working for Dave.
You need to drink living in the hellhole known as the USA.
LOL
Decoy is not expensive
Fre wine is where it's at! It's wine without the alcohol!
More!
