There should be an episode of George and Rachel with both of their spouses. I would possibly spend $500 just to watch that!! Ok, maybe not, but still, I would definitely watch.
Our 5 year old son walked in when you were talking about spending money and how expensive love is and he said "what, you have to pay for love"? Made me laugh and I thought you might enjoy it too.
I’m older. I met my husband through a matchmaking service. I was working full time, going to school in evenings and had no spare time to meet someone. This was before internet. The service cost $1,000. I figured the cost would eliminate certain types of people who were undesirable to date. They recommended meet the person for coffee first, after speaking on phone to each other at least once, drive yourself and pay for your own coffee at least at the first meeting. It was ironic that we had never met before: he had gone to HS just down the street from where I had gone to HS, he lived less than a mile from my house, we shopped at the same grocery store, his grandfather was in the same profession as my grandfather and they had worked on some of the same projects, he worked with my next door neighbor and they were friends, even his sister had lived next door to my mother ( I was living in a different state at that time). It took the matchmaking service to bring us together.
24-year-old single female here! Just thought I’d leave some thoughts: Coffee/tea is a nice first date if you don’t know the person super well! But if you do know them well (ex: if you’ve been good friends for a while), activity dates are super fun, too! Having a common goal to accomplish together aside from just the date can help break tension and show you how that person handles different situations.🙂
Don't take a first date on a restaurant. Do something cheap or free that is fun. Go to mini golf, it's cheap and if the date goes bad at least you did something that you enjoyed so it wasn't a total waste.
I see what you mean, but my view is that I have to eat no matter if it's alone or with a date. At least, when the dinner is over it's a signal that I can leave. If it's an activity and the date isn't going well, it's harder to wrap up.
I met my husband online in 2012. Very faith based though. We met through catholicmatch and were in different countries on top of that! Going strong with the love of my life for 8+ years with our 5th child on the way! We hear all the time how well we match and I totally agree! 😍
Rural Minnesota… I have never been on a date or to a restaurant that we have spent more than $60. We would have to drive over and hour to the city to spend that amount of money 😅
Valentine’s Day as a forced day for lovers is definitely an ick. BUT Valentine’s Day as a fun day to love on and make it all about your kids, game changer!! We decorate for our kids and give them little gifts and our daughter a rose and we make homemade heart pizzas together as a family. It has made it SO sweet ❤❤❤
Dating sites scare me. I've read too many real stalker/murder stories. I would prefer to meet someone organically so I get the "feel" about them as to who they are as a person.
I am 22 and absolutely love this podcast. I wait for it to come out every week. My husband and I often have dates at Wendy's since that's what fits our current budget and goals. Although, we try to have a bit more set aside for atleast 1-2 higher priced dates in the month (if we have $30 we go to our local diner, if we have $45-60 we go to a bit more elevated place). I'm currently starting college so working around both of our schedules can be hard.
It's hard for youngsters, and for anyone more experienced, too. Too much choice is no bueno. And trust seems to be gone for lots of us out here. Texting someone and situationships galore. So much keeping options open, dating around and saving folks on back burners..... I was recently contacted by someone from hs. They are in an "open" marriage. Ummmm no. It is so wild to be dating at any age in this era.
21:02 "Why don't you just message me a nice compliment?" - Oh, Rachel. Poor, nieve, innocent Rachel. You cannot fathom the struggles that single folk have had on these apps. Nice compliments are ignored; being rude is rewarded. It's a jungle out here. 😅
11 years single. no luck on dating sites, feels like the only ones on their are bottom of the barrel. tinder is for hookups, not interested. had the love of my life and she just decided to marry and use several men since me. and she's the only one to date that was amazing to me. i'm almost 44. will probably die alone.
We have our own set of bedding for each side of our King sized bed George! 😂 i have the comforter and he has a sheet because of our different temps and the fact i supposedly steal the sheets
I know the exact photo my husband would use in his dating profile, and yes, he is holding a large fish 🐟 😅 He loves that picture - bless. ❤ I am also throwing a vote out there for a Winston, Rachel, George & Whitney episode!
I'm ready for a Ramsey dating app of some sort. Ramsey has a program to vet ELPs, so they can translate that into vetting finances of singles so they won't lie!
I’m laughing out loud listening to this “what phone did you have” conversation because I had pay phones when I was dating my husband 😂 He did get a pager at some point during our courtship 🤣
Scary enough! Doing financial counseling I have seen an insane number of charges coming from TikTok as of recently from their store! People that cannot afford to be spending what they are, not budgeting at all are simply giving their money away!
Met my husband on hinge, never thought he’d want to date me! But the first thing I sent him was “what church do you go to?” Married in a year and a half 😆 Have those really hard values conversations first and early on, stay close to God, and it weeds out those who aren’t serious or right for you
My husband took me bowling on our first date in summer 1996. Even with shoe rental, the 2 games couldn't have cost more than $15. Was clearly a great date since I married him.
First date with my husband we took our dogs to the dog park and he brought us smoothies. This was 2007 - he was finishing college and I was out and working already.
Excellent episode! Valentine's Day is soooo over-rated. I get the whole "show the one you love what they mean to you" stuff, but shouldn't we be doing that everyday?!?!?! Love you two! You two should have Winston and Whitney on for the Valentine's Day taping. I would sooooo love that! Just a thought. ❤ from Kansas City
In alot of cases, the woman has already spent a fortune preparing for a date. She spends her money on her hair, makeup, date clothes, perhaps manicures and pedicures. Women constantly spend to look good and appealing. Guys, that should be taken into account before thinking you are spending too much paying for the drinks and dinner.
I feel like I have 2 new best friends and that is low-key kinda ick. 😂 I just found this podcast show over the weekend and have laughed so much watching them. Thanks UA-cam for putting a winner on my homepage
In today's world, and with dating apps, there is also times when the girl is the one asking for first date. Wondering your take, if a girl asks, should she expect the guy to pay for first date?
In this day and age you don't wanna go to a restaurant for the first date, That gets really expensive. You do something simple and affordable like coffee, odds are you meet the person on a dating app and odds are they have a date lined up with someone else the next day. Save dinner when it gets more serious than a first date/ meeting. Really happy I don't have to go on dates anymore.
Hot take - Coffee was my husband and my first date…. We are both sober and were when we met. If he would have asked me out for a drink, I wouldn’t have gone, and we wouldn’t have progressed.
My first blind date with my third husband was to an outdoor art show and we had one lemonade and no dinner but we secured the second date, the state fair, that was pizza after date. 6 months later we were engaged ❤️
I think a hike on a first date would be a little creepy unless you're going with a group of mutual friends or you already know each other well. Lol " come be alone in the woods with me." 😂
Valentine's day 2024. So happy my wife of 9 years matches my frugality. Instead of high spend and over consumption we went back in time ~30 years to elementary school. Like school kids for Valentine's day we decorated a small brown paper lunch bag. Starting today until 2/14 I'm dropping a mini valentines day card with a message and mini chocolate into her bag taped to the side of the kitchen counter (like a school desk). Total cost, about 98 cents.
As someone who doesn’t drink getting coffee is a great first date. I’m an active person so a coffee and walk is even better. Dinner dates to me are not fun. You’re stuck in seat for an hour plus, conversation might be awkward, atmosphere may not be ideal. I’m all about active dates! I think it all depends on the person! Someone you’re going on a date with would hopefully have similar taste otherwise probably not your person.
When do we get a Whitney, George, Rachel, and Winston episode?!
That would be a fun episode lol
Yes!!! 🙌
There should be an episode of George and Rachel with both of their spouses. I would possibly spend $500 just to watch that!! Ok, maybe not, but still, I would definitely watch.
Yesssss!!!
That would be good!!
Totally agree! I want to see them on the podcast!
George and Rachel should get together 😉 they make a great couple

WE NEED A RAMSEY DATING APP.
That would be awesome👌
31:01
W- “Something romantic that you do that’s an ick?”
*Immediate panic from Rachel*
R- “No!”
😂
I almost spit out my coffee.
Hiiiiiilarious!!!! I definitely laughed out loud at that part!
😂😂😂
@GeorgeKamel get 2 full size duvets for the king bed and do the Scandinavian bed thing where you each have your own comforter. Game changer
💯
I met my husband on a dating app called “Seniors meet”. He was holding a large salmon! LOL! That was 10 years ago & we have been married 7 years.

Loved Rachel calling Winston!! 😂😂😂 and George saying “love you”!! 😂😂😂 the best!!
Knoxville resident and fellow UT grad here! Savelli’s is still going strong, and your description of the building is spot on 😂
Celebrate Valentine's Day after everything goes on clearance. You'll get it all at least 50% off.
19 almost 20 year old in college watching this. Enjoyed it as always. Thank you.
“We’re live”
*Thats how I live my life*
Don't take a first date on a restaurant. Do something cheap or free that is fun. Go to mini golf, it's cheap and if the date goes bad at least you did something that you enjoyed so it wasn't a total waste.
Mini golf was my husband and I’s first date. Followed by apps at Outback

@@jennyhammond9261 if your going on a date with someone you did find something about them attractive at first.
Rachel, George & Winston is why I’m here 😂
Rachel, I’m am so with you on the water bottle thing! It’s like I’m afraid I’ll run out. But, that isn’t even remotely likely. I totally get it.
I met my husband online in 2012. Very faith based though. We met through catholicmatch and were in different countries on top of that! Going strong with the love of my life for 8+ years with our 5th child on the way! We hear all the time how well we match and I totally agree! 😍
“I wish I could go back in time, id be so smoothe id have so much rizz”🤣 aint that the truth😂
The call to Winston was great! Man, I love this podcast!
George...the Rizzard of Oz
Oh, Hey Skylar!
My husband didn't take me to dinner until we were engaged! Happily married for 25 years.
I tried Match, Christian Mingle, and Christian Cafe. I met my husband on Christian Cafe. We lived in different states. We've been married 6yrs now.
Rural Minnesota… I have never been on a date or to a restaurant that we have spent more than $60. We would have to drive over and hour to the city to spend that amount of money 😅

You two make me laugh and smile all the time. Love listening to Smart Money Happy Hour!
22 years with my hs sweetheart. I cant fathom dating today. Our first dates were Mcd $1 menu and skate park visits. 😊
Dating sites scare me. I've read too many real stalker/murder stories. I would prefer to meet someone organically so I get the "feel" about them as to who they are as a person.

Great episode. Love Winston being so real ❤️. What a great guy.
WOWWWWWWWWWW, George with the RIZZZZZZZ, quite smooth
Senior in high school here. So much love towards the both of you!

College age subscriber here. Love the videos
Dating apps were around back in 2000. Plenty of Fish launched in 2003.
Rachel and Winston are hilarious! Loved the episode ❤
That Winston cameo was the best thing ever
21:02 "Why don't you just message me a nice compliment?" - Oh, Rachel. Poor, nieve, innocent Rachel. You cannot fathom the struggles that single folk have had on these apps. Nice compliments are ignored; being rude is rewarded. It's a jungle out here. 😅

I love how real you guys are! Hilarious bringing Winston in on that! That’s brave! 😂
$192, 000 @ 24:00 if that isn't a ringing endorsement to stay single, I don't know what is.
College aged listener here🙋🏻♀️ I graduate this semester tho so I’m almost a full time working adult😅
I'm ready for a Ramsey dating app of some sort. Ramsey has a program to vet ELPs, so they can translate that into vetting finances of singles so they won't lie!
😂 that was an awesome show 😂 Winston “ get two sinks Y’all” 😝 I felt that ❤
This podcast is great. I love you both! George is so friendly and funny 😁
I’m laughing out loud listening to this “what phone did you have” conversation because I had pay phones when I was dating my husband 😂 He did get a pager at some point during our courtship 🤣
What’s the drink rating?! Would Rachel order this at a restaurant?! This is quite the cliff hanger…how do I go on without knowing the rating?!
Scary enough! Doing financial counseling I have seen an insane number of charges coming from TikTok as of recently from their store! People that cannot afford to be spending what they are, not budgeting at all are simply giving their money away!
We need to see Whitney and Winston!!! That is what we need please give the people what we want.
Rachel has the best facial expressions 😂😂😅😅 🤭🤭

Just made this float but subbed seltzer for the ginger ale. So refreshing and not too sweet!
My husband took me bowling on our first date in summer 1996. Even with shoe rental, the 2 games couldn't have cost more than $15. Was clearly a great date since I married him.
I met my wife on tinder back when tinder was free lol
Rachel got ROASTED by Winston. I loved this episode
First date with my husband we took our dogs to the dog park and he brought us smoothies. This was 2007 - he was finishing college and I was out and working already.
Rachel, I can relate to the water bottle everywhere… I do the same thing. I usually have three water bottles on my night stand any given night❤
This reminds me of the podcast where Rachel said it was fine to go on a bunch of first dates for free food 😂
The panic on Rachel's face when Winston asks if it is a romantic ick! 😂
With ya George, not into the fish pics either, and used to get plenty of them.
You two are by far my favorite podcast!😊 Thanks for the laughs 😂
So much fun! You all crack me up 😂❤
Separate sheets! Sleep game changer!
Every girls opener on Bumble
Girls: "Hey"
I had the PanTech too!!!!! That's back when phones were still fun and unique 😂
This has to be the best episode, so fun!
Met my husband on Tinder 9 years ago when the app was still knew and free 😂 we’ve been together 9 years married for 5.5! 🎉
George, I totally get it with the fish pics , lol.
We went to the movies and dinner before at Applebees which is in the same parking lot
Noo to dating apps for me thank you very much
Excellent episode! Valentine's Day is soooo over-rated. I get the whole "show the one you love what they mean to you" stuff, but shouldn't we be doing that everyday?!?!?! Love you two! Love the Winston call
Watching the show from college, and I love the content keep up the good work!

I wouldn't say love is expensive, it is the romantic gestures that are expensive.
I still have the iPhone 10. I’ve been needing to upgrade I know. 4:33
I recently went from an iPhone 8 to the iPhone 15. 😅
Scarlet is a beautiful name!! Wow so cool to have somebody on the show who is single! Anyways I never had any luck in dating apps.
My first blind date with my third husband was to an outdoor art show and we had one lemonade and no dinner but we secured the second date, the state fair, that was pizza after date. 6 months later we were engaged ❤️
I wish Rachael would’ve share that Winston paid for the pizza with a credit card 😅😅
That was an awesome podcast!
College age watcher here, love the show!
My husband and I met on eharmony in 2009!! I was embarrassed for a while because it was not common.
You are a fun pair❤
Thanks for the morning entertainment 😂
You guys are awesome!
Good I didn't live in America during our dating days, so expensive!
You never rated the drink😂
I think a hike on a first date would be a little creepy unless you're going with a group of mutual friends or you already know each other well. Lol " come be alone in the woods with me." 😂

Thanks to Mrs Mary Elizabeth Webb ❤️❤️

Can I also do it??? My life is facing lots of challenges lately.
Oh yeah sure, she's active on What's APk👎🏿
