Two lovely new jumpers, Lynne. I am knitting with Nutiden's Tallbark right now, doing a Koyamae sweater which is a little tricky with cables down the sleeves - not the best choice of pattern for a newbie Nutiden knitter, but I am getting there. I hope you are having a lovely time down in France right now.
Hi there! How lovely, it’s such a beautiful shade of brown don’t you think. Yes, I had a few issues getting used to the pin roving, especially as there are a couple of tricky increases that meant I had to twist a section of the yarn before using so it had enough strength to pull tight to create new stitches 🤦🏻♀️ All a learning curve 🤪 Having a lovely time in France thanks 🥰 Thanks so much hit watching and happy Nutiden knitting! ❤️🧶

Haha I totally empathize with the sock situation. I refused to rip out a colour work sock and hated working on it and kept going. One year later I ripped it out anyway because it was so ugly and totally the wrong size. It's always better to rip out when it doesn't work... It's just painful 😂 now I have a lovely well fitting pair of colourwork socks 🥳
😂 glad it’s not just me 🤦🏻♀️ So…..sick has been ripped out and I also, inspired by you, have added a solid colour stripe because I wasn’t a fan of the pattern it was making. Because you’re right….why would I make an ugly, uncomfortable sock! 😂 The things we do eh 🤷♀️🧶😁

@@calonyarns8088 sometimes stubbornness is blinding 🤣 but at least we have caught ourselves in the act and stopped before going too far ha!

The sock only looks stiff now while knitting. Once you block them they will be really soft. Just continue knitting.
You may well be right Nadia, I just don’t remember the others being stuff like this….hmmmm….brought some bigger needles with me in case I decide to go up a size….Thanks for watching xx
@@calonyarns8088 Just finish one of them (it's almost done), and block it to see if you like it:) Tighter gauge will make them much more durable. I knit mine on 2,25mm and it's always super tight while I knit them (they almost stand up by themselves) but they get really (!) soft and drapy after first wash/blocking ;)

Love your Nutiden sweater! I have a question though… does it shed a lot? I knitted my first sweater with Nutiden and it was shedding so much I had dust bunnies throughout the house. I washed it in the washing machine two times and all was fine, but still shedding. Washed it a third time and accidentally chose the wrong program and it felted 😭. I’m now afraid to knit another sweater because I don’t want it to shed so much.
You made me laugh with the tight sock haha! I hope you’ve frogged it. It was fun seeing your brain work on that one hahahaa!
Arghhhh no way!! You’re brave to put it in the machine at all, mine would have mashed it straight away. To be honest, I’m not sure about the shedding yet, haven’t got to wear it much so far. I know my friend Carol has knitted a couple out of Nutiden and hasn’t seemed to have an issue. Might be to do with a particular wool blend 🤷♀️ They change at each month in terms of the fibre content so may be to do with that. Will keep you posted on the podcast. Xx

@@calonyarns8088 I always wash my stuff in the machine, it has a special extra delicate wool wash cycle. But yes I’m devastated really…. It was the Puppelin colour way. I have a sweater quantity of Ljus still…. Maybe I’ll try again in a while 😜

I so missed your humor. I am smiling and laughing through all of this. You make me happy. Thank you. I love all your sweaters. I hope someday I'll dive into a colorwork sweater. Right now I'm knitting "Design Nineteen", by Jenny Wastson in book eleven of Queensland Collection. I love all the sweaters in here, but this is the first one I'm doing. It's a sweater buy it's big and bulky like a coat or jacket. Great outer wear piece. Have a great time in France. Take photos so we can see.
