    Another issue with portals is that they appear to violate thermodynamics.
    Go to a planetary body (like Earth) and place two portals opposite each other, pointing towards the planet's center of mass (a portal on the floor, and a portal right above it facing down). Drop an item into the bottom portal, and now the item will fall endlessly. Put a coil around the portal system (assuming the item you dropped was magnetic), and you now have Infinite Energy.
    Not only is this a perpetual motion machine, just the fact that one portal can have an angle different from another portal, and that items can pass right through them in the "proper direction", means that conservation of momentum is being completely violated.

    2) Please do a video on Towerfall Ascension. It's a 2d game. When you go down at the bottom you come out at the top and when you go left left you come out right (torus shaped). But there is gravity which makes it weird.

    What Grand Theft Auto maps would be more self-sustainable in Real Life and thus more realistic, in terms of food, water, electricity, you know... The basics? Would they be able to sustain themselves or they would be bankrupt in a few days?

    • @lemongrenade6135
      @lemongrenade6135 8 років тому

      A lot of Grand Theft Auto maps use cities from real life like GTA 5 uses Los Angeles and GTA 4 uses New York City. SO I'm pretty sure they would be able to sustain themselves

    • @DOUGL4S1
      @DOUGL4S1 8 років тому +2

      What I mean is for example: Liberty City doesn't have any farms, so they need to bring food through boats or planes, which coast a lot. But they have lots of factories, companies, offices and a nuclear power plant, so they can probably get enough money to sustain themselves without farms. Vice City doesn't have farms nor big industrial areas, so it would be hard for them to do the same, but they can get their money from Tourism.

    Not quite sure if it's the right place to ask, but imagine you create two portals that are facing each other. Then you take a pole with the exact length of the space in between these two portals and put it into the portal. The first end that went through the portal would come out at the 2nd portal, right?
    So what would happen if you manage to get the two ends of the pile to line up perfectly...? Would the pole fall down or would the constant stress let it "float"....?
    I hope that it's at least kinda understandable what I'm trying to ask

      I did, and I watched the Aperture Investment videos too. In video four, there are blueprints of the dual portal device and the back of the device contains a miniature black-hole which makes the portals. Video four also explains why the portals are blue and orange, there dyed blue and orange with the help of a dye reserve at the front of the device.

    That's not how the Casimir Effect works. The plates are drawn together because space doesn't have an energy density of zero. It has a small but nonetheless positive energy density which causes tiny pairs of quantum particles and antiparticles to appear and almost immediately annihilate back into nothing. This ubiquitous particle soup "boils" like a pot of hot water, which causes a positive energy from all points and in all directions. These particles correspond to various wavelengths in the quantum fields that propagate all particles, known and unknown. The plates are nanometers apart, so any particles with a wavelength larger than the space between the plates cannot propagate there. We can then determine that overall there will be a lower number of particles per unit measured between the plates than outside the plates, which means lower energy density between than outside. Bam, pressure, plates close. The Cosmological Constant, aka Dark Energy means that there is a monumental amount of energy inside space-time itself, which can be seen in the continued acceleration of the universe. Empty space is never empty. Without a single drop of energy, I don't think space-time could even be called such. I don't think an energy-less area of space-time could even be regarded as existing in the usual sense of the word. It would be utterly featureless, thus undescribable. That doesn't mean negative energy is impossible. Negative doesn't mean zero. The difference between positive and negative energy is literally the same between positive and negative magnetic poles. Literally the same, but inverse values. Two sides of the same coin. School taught you the number line, which turns out to be a total misrepresentation. It's a number circle, with zero at the bottom, positive ascending up one side, infinity at the top, and negative descending down the other side back down to zero. Even zero and infinity are the same but inverse. Infinity is exactly what it sounds like, an uncountable number that contains all countable numbers. Infinity is neither positive nor negative. Zero isn't nothing, it is neutrality. It is all numbers combined, which cancels out to neutral.
    The laws of physics as we know them pretty much forbid absolute zero (Temperature), but there's nothing wrong with true negative temperatures. (Not C or F. Use Kelvin) Seriously, Google that.

      a portal cannot change the rate of accelerate , I would assume , I suppose
      at first I thought a portal cannot move , as a mechanic in the game , but "moving" isn't at thing due to relativity , then I thought it can't accelerate , but then gravity

      Chris Ng so you're saying that as soon as the magnet reaches terminal velocity it'll stop inducing a current?

      to be honest , I have no idea what you are saying , please explain what you're saying
      but what I'm saying is that portals can't be on a moving object
      except there is no moving object , because relativity
