Even though Jo won, I am really impressed with Leo. If this was a points competition I feel like Leo would've won because he had better moves. Unfortunately, kyokushin teaches you how to take a hit so his moves had little effect

Some Kyokushin competitors have been won by competitors of Olympic karate in karate combat. What you said is inconsistent.

No, hate to karate combat but there’s no reason for Full Contact knock down karate guys to fight in karate combat if you can’t kick the thighs.
The pit helps with distance fighters from point karate but taking away low kicks cripples full contact and kenka karate fighters.
Hopefully an Ashihara or Enshin League or Shin Karate league can start up for full contact guys.
Karate combat is for Olympic Taekwondo and karate point fighters only.

I asked Jo Miyahara about the calf kick after this fight. He said it’s the same as the Gedan Mawashi Geri just lower.

@@jacopodainotto4084 yes, I am impressed with the Kyokushins, their strength and ability to take so many hits without even blinking. IBut I would fight them from outside their range too. Afraid of their powerful leg kicks. Fight from the outside. Although we all have the same stances no matter what style. So he can actually just drill faster footwork. I noticed GSP ((Kyokushin) also fights from the outside (point.fighting style and learned to elusive. Smart strategy to avoid a beating contest with strong UFC fighters who may be better punchers than him.

So i'm not in martial arts, but if combat is a form of sports, why does it have to be karate specific? There's no taekwando in Ufc....

Jo had no bad intentions. Looked bored to death but wouldn't put out enough effort to hurt his opponent. Looked like a draw to me. Why are they all wearing black belts from K Mart? I've seen better blue belts.

That's crazy, I know and seen Leo fight in a more full contact environment and he was explosive...it was a little weird to see him be so passive here but that's comment is extremely disrespect I like to see you in this ring and do better

At 67 that's probably not going to be happening. I trained for 13 yrs in karate and kick boxing. I do know what I'm looking at. I ducked no one. Jo should never be leading with kicks. Kicks should be set up with hands 80% of the time to create openings. Why Valdivia was backing up the whole time is beyond me. It's not like Jo was going to hurt him. Valdivia's right needs to be straightened so it goes right down the pipe instead of his looping hay makers. Jo looked soft and flabby. Not black belt quality in my eyes by either man. @@guywiththeflowerink
