    I really don't see why people are taking up for the kidnapper as if she didn't commit a crime. Yes she raised her to be a wonderful young lady, but at the same time she took someone else's child from them. She took her real parents 18 years of love, joy and care with (their child). She robbed her from what her real life with her real parents would have been. Hopefully she grows closer with her real family. The kidnapper deserves to spend at least 5/10 years for what she did.

      Yes! And I'm sure everyday she is talking to the kidnapper, the woman is reassuring her how much she loves her, manipulating her further. There's no way from this interview the girl realizes the magnitude of her feeling that love for the kidnapper as 'stolen' from her real parents. Man I'd be pissed knowing every bday I had, my real parents were grieving, while the kidnapper held in the nasty secret.

      ali_young21 right. Like I don't know how these two families will come together and just get along as one since she does have two families now. But this whole story is crazy.

      Nesha Britwood not to mention that a person who plans, drives miles away, walks into a hospital, and walks out with someone's baby, is most certainly a deeply emotionally disturbed individual.

      Nesha Britwood People from the outside always judge standing from where? The outside. No one knows how it feels to be this girl right now. I indeed feel bad for her biological parents as well as for her. We also don't know how the woman she calls mom felt when she miscarried and did a desperate act as to take a baby. Everyone in a desperate situation does desperate things to alleviate a situation. The only person who is qualified on this earth to judge anyone is God for only he knows the hearts of men and women. As an adopted child now an adult, I feel exactly what she is going through: torn between families. I hope that her biological parents don't speak ill will of the woman she calls mom because they may push her away forever. There's a lot of healing and emotion that everyone is going through. Peace

    She sounds like an intelligent young woman. But her "mom" has to face the consequences of her actions

    • @stigglescee
      @stigglescee 7 років тому +14

      Intelligent? Could be, but not displayed in her statements. The statements come from not being able to accept what's happened, and admitting this as well stating, "I don't want to think about what happened. One day will come when I will."
      She admits she doesn't want to deal with it, hence the "thinking she's a mom" still is her viewpoint.

      +John Williams she's the one that got the inquiry started because of trouble getting a driver's license and registering to vote. she couldn't. her paper work was forged. she's intellegent, and very poised for a shocked 18 year old. hopefully on her way to college. and Birth Mother and Mom or Mama don't always equate to the same person. her Birth Mother never had the chance to show what kind of mom she would have been. on the other hand. her birth father should have been in jail when she was born . a 25 yr old man having sex with a 16 yr old girl. where were her parents at?????

    I have mixed feelings about this. I applaud Alexis for how strong she is in this, but something bugged me.
    "From that one mistake, I was given the best life!"
    Yes, that may be very very true, but it wasn't supposed to be her! Your parents were waiting 9 months to give you that life. They're the ones who had all those dreams for you, they're the ones who dreamt of your future, while you were still the size of a pin. I mean, they're the reason you're alive...Not the woman who took you away. All the life you were living, while your biological parents were devastated thinking that it was lost forever.
    I almost feel like she hasn't really considered her biological parents' role in this disaster. I'm not being unsympathetic, this is just a trainwreck...

      I actually read more details of this story and the way things turned out may have been the best for everyone. Let me explain. The biological mom just turned 16 when she had her, and the biological father was in jail. this girl would’ve been raised in a very dysfunctional, toxic, unloving environment with no father figure and would’ve probably been abused. Yes it’s sad for the biological mom that she lost her child, but let’s be honest when you’re 16 you’re still a kid and are most likely in no position to raise a child. On the other hand the kidnapper was a lady who just had a miscarriage a couple days prior (which was her motive), and the daughter said she was raised with love.

      Young Fu I read your entire comment, and I appreciate the kinds of comments like this that don't argue with vulgar language.
      But, I think it's rather rude to blatantly say she would've been raised in an unloving environment. I agree the situation she ended up growing up in, is probably better for a child's development, but I'm also saying poverty/depression kids can do fine too. With plenty of love along the way. Might not be from Mom and Dad per say, but love can come from everywhere! Sorry to sound cliche, 😃

    • @youngpatrick29
      @youngpatrick29 6 років тому +30

      TorgieBride85 My personal viewpoint is the most important and genuine love comes from the authority figure, the person you look up to, the person who raised you, the person who you’re supposed to trust, but you’re right, I am only speculating what the environment would’ve been like without any real evidence and that assumption is unfair to the biological mom. she could’ve turned out absolutely fine.

      She met the people and doesnt fit into their life. Its a whole different lifestyle. She thinks of it as she was taken very from what would've been a very hard life with a teen mom to having a stable life with who took her. To me and in many other womens lives we cant imagine our children any other way but ours but I think she feels some kind of divine intervention gave her a better life than what she would've had. It doesnt excuse it or make it right but Im sure all she knows is she didnt feel connected to her bio mom, her bio mom acted awfully to her because the bond wasnt there and she just wants who she loved as mom. Under these circumstances I'd thank god she was alive, be in her life in some capacity, find forgiveness and even thank the woman for taking care of her since there are worse outcomes that could've happened and ask for leniency on the woman who took her. I feel like you kind of have to in this situation, shes a grown woman now, not a toddler and everyone needs healing in this situation. The hospital owes the bio mom, and let Alexis be Alexis. I hate that it happened but come on you cant change her name now, good lord. Sad all around.

    That would be a very difficult situation to be in.
    On one end, you have a woman that you've called mom for 18 years and who you love dearly. Your mom actually kidnapped you as a child, but she is all you know. On the other hand, you have two complete strangers who you know are your biological parents but you've never spent time with them.
    The mother who raised you goes to jail, everybody says she's a horrible person, and yet you feel guilty because she's still your mommy.
    Then you have your biological parents, people you had no clue about who are the cause of your mother getting locked up. You feel guilty because you love them also.
    I'm saying this as what I would feel if I was in her shoes. I'm not condoning her being kidnapped, but I'm also not condoning complete erasing of fond (to her) memories.

    • @stigglescee
      @stigglescee 7 років тому +8

      Stephanie Mukai
      You are not condoning complete erasing of fond (to her) memories??
      First of all, the brain cannot erase trauma memories.
      Secondly, not condoning it? Eventually, accepting her trauma in time will warp memories into a mish mash of "fond recall" of bits and pieces of the past while at the same time "sickening feeling of puking".
      She's getting plenty now. All that'll happen is in time they'll appear less and less.

    • @chokoboy5578
      @chokoboy5578 7 років тому +16

      @john Williams look your only calling it trauma cause you know the situation but that young women doesn't (till recently) so all this traumatic event crap it's only traumatic if its trauma but if she was literally raised by the women that is her mom I'll put it like this how do you know your mom didn't kidnapped you? I doubt you got a DNA test done most people don't cause they have no reason to but if tomorrow someone told you the person who raised you and we'll for that matter is not your mom it would make no difference to you especially at 1st the difference between this and the usual kidnapping story is that the person taken has a kidnapping experience that they recall she can't because she was an infant when it happened before she could even identify her bio mom so as far as she's concerned her kidnapper is just a loving parent not to say the women shouldn't do time but it's not at all simple

    She needs to understand that,that lady is a very evil cruel person. This person is not her mom. She needs to pay for what she did. This lady was evil from the beginning ,she had to treat her great and pretend to love her so she would never get busted. She's not a saint like this girl is making her out to b. If abusing a child was legal this lady wld have treated this girl horrible knowing she cld get away with it. But knowing that she cld get in trouble and busted on abuse she clearly faked love to try n never get caught being a baby stealer.

      Heidi Rucker Are you God? Do you know her heart? Did you live with them? What she did was indeed wrong, but to consistently make harsh attacks on her isn't right either. Praying for her is the best thing to do. Hate begats hate; love begats love. Peace

    • @stigglescee
      @stigglescee 7 років тому +4

      Oh sure, Heidi is the one deserving of "attack" while you defend the thug, smart and humane.
      And thug is correct, she has committed other crimes as well. Why is that mentioned? Because she's a thug living the thug life, so course a kidnapping is expected behavior.
      Do you know her heart? Do YOU know the "criminal mind"? Obviously not, and indicates you're a lay person and have no experience in it nor education in the topic of criminal behavior. If you had, you'd know THERE IS NO HEART TO "KNOW".
      The thug cannot even know what "love" is, she gave the victim a "fake, pretend love" purposely to "hurt her"knowing she'd likely discover the kidnapping at some point, and wanted to crush her to death with it, as well as repeatedly, "looking into her victims's trusting eyes" in the meantime as they share moments together and thinking, "Good trust me.....I take away your love of your real mother and I gloat in the fact I stole your love from her. I DEPRIVE YOU MISSY OF THE VERY THING YOU WERE BORN TO NEED AND HAVE AND NOW IT'S GONE....HOPE YOU LIKE THE PAIN, BITCH!!! I see the pain you'd feel in your eyes if you knew this and I want more of it - why do you think I take a baby?? To hurt you by depriving you of your family. I want to deprive you of your family the way I was deprived of love from my own mother - why do you think I've committing other crimes?? I feel tossed aside and abused by my mother so now I must make up for it by PUNISHING YOU, MY LITTLE PRETTY PIECE OF CRAP!...how does THAT feel, little missy??? And you love me for it??? Good, keep loving me for taking your family from you while I compensate from my own hurtful childhood. And if/when this secret you discover, should I go to prison, the sentence will likely be light and hopefully so, I will be counting the days when I can return to the streets and find another baby!"
      Every hug from the thug, is filled with these thoughts and more sickening statements in their mind, and loving every second of it.
      Again, people like this aren't even capable of love - they steal kids to inflict hurt on purpose on the child, period. There's no such thing as what you're proposing, that she "just made an innocent mistake because just wanted love".
      Again, she has a criminal record for a reason. The criminal mind that exists in a person who has trouble obeying the law exists because they've been corrupt their whole lives. They see "normal behavior", such as what's needed to live a life free of law breaking, as despicable - they hate "normalcy" and "normal people". In their conversations with "other thugs", when they don't feel the need "to pretend to be normal when around normal people" contains sickening statements of "boasting" about committing crimes as well as thoughts about "future crimes they can commit". They spend much of their "private time" engaged in such thoughts.
      Sometime, rather than speaking from gibberish you picked up somewhere and/or thinking it just "made sense", you should study abnormal psychology and the criminal mind as people like myself have, you'd be surprised how these weirdos think. What I stated above is taken right from mouths of kidnappers like this woman. And yes, they all have this thinking and even worse for many.
      What is stated above is WHY they do it. Some will add more, and also torture and/or kill the child as well.
      Btw, It's people like you that make lenient laws like we have for many crimes, stating that "thinking harshly" of the thug is wrong and then acting on it on top of it is "somehow wrong" as well.
      Care about the victim infant and her "family being stolen from her" instead of caring about "what the thug thinks and her needs" might be.
      Infants are all that matters here, period. Any thug and "their needs" is not to be even considered - the innocent child is the only thing important here.
      These "human rights" were taken from her :
      "Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness" is a well-known phrase in the United States Declaration of Independence. The phrase gives three examples of the "unalienable rights" which the Declaration says have been given to all human beings by their Creator, and which governments are created to protect."
      These rights were taken away from her - and the sick thug gave her a "fake life" in place of it.
      And another "right" she has, from birth, is justice for the crime - that being death.
      Death is all this thug deserves, and if I could do it myself I'd shoot her bitching face right off and love the splattered blood.

      I don't think that would make any sense... I don't see why she would go through the trouble to kidnap a child to only do harm? that's not likely and apparently was cared for, for 18 years ... why would care for a child that's not hers for 18 years ... and not only that but kidnap her I don't believe her intentions were to cause cruelty to the child. I just believe her guardian mother was a desperate women who couldn't have children of her own and wanted one and decided to just kidnap the child from the hospital... she cared for and nurtured her when she didn't have to because she truly felt the child was hers cause that's what she wanted !!! although what she did was wrong and not right .

    I think the girl should be allowed to love who raised her and her biological family. Those are her feelings and they should be valid. The abductor didn’t abuse the child she abused their family and the biological mom which is why she should pay. But people shouldn’t force the girl not to have a relationship with the only love and mother she has ever known... that’s wrong. And maybe she should go by both names if she wants. I agree with you. Kamiyah should be number one in this. Nothing will fix this for the birth mom and dad. They could give her the death penalty, but the bond between Gloria Williams and Kamiyah will never be broken. That's what is killing the birth mom. That young lady is going to visit that lady in prison and be there when she gets out because that's her mom. Like it or not. Whoever does the job gets the title. Plus she knew when she was abducted when she was 16. She was probably looking at them on facebook the whole time saying "nah, I'm good." because from her own mouth her life was just fine. That does not diminish her birth parents pain. I hate that she was kidnapped. Let the courts give justice and give Kamiyah the space and respect she deserves.

The woman should be punished for kidnapping and making her biological parents worry for so long but at the same time Alexis loves her as a mom and she raised her well. It seems like if that woman stayed in jail it would hurt Alexis even more. But at the same time, what that woman did was terrible.

    The kidnapper is not her mom. She is evil. She committed a very evil act. She took this baby from her mom and dad. They were left with the torture of grieving their child and not knowing if she was safe or if she was being tortured or was dead. Then when the child returns she is loyal to the only parent she has ever known of course, the kidnapper. This is like a second ripping and terrible act against the parents again. The kidnapper deserves life in prison for this. I do not care that she cared for the child well. She stole an entire lifetime from the parents who deserved it. She does not deserve any praise or lenience for this. I pray that the child is able to fall deeply in love with her real parents and that her love for her real parents is greater than the love she has ever had for this evil kidnapper.

    • @deborahliveli6510
      @deborahliveli6510 7 років тому +8

      I respect your opinion, however, the kidnapper is the person inflicting all of this suffering on the real parents and Alexis, due to her actions. There is more than one victim here. It is unfortunate that Alexis is caught in the middle, but the kidnapper is to blame for that, and no one else. How would you feel if this were your own child? This girl is obviously going to require counseling. I understand she loves the woman who raised her, but her own parents have most likely suffered tremendously, not knowing what became of their child, missing all those years. I would want to see her in prison too.

    • @popolin8614

      It's simply not that easy to the girl her biological mother is a complete stranger. Although the person she believed to be her mom was her Kidnapper she was there for her for 18 years and where as her biological parents weren't. Ok yeah if the woman hadn't kidnapped her in the first place they would've been there for her. But for a kid it matters more whether a person was there for her/him or not. You can sometimes see that in a foster child or a child of divorcée. A foster child would sometimes pick their foster parents over their biological parents especially if the foster parents were really good people. Some children would pick their stepfather or stepmother over their biological ones. So if you take these examples into account it's no wonder why she's feeling that way. But still regardless of what she feels the fact that woman kidnapped her will not change and she needs to be punished for it.

Sick people do that because in their warped minds they believe that what they are doing is somehow "right". It isn't right and we can all agree on that. However, I have empathy for the mentally ill mother because you can tell she did what she did out of desperation. I think she deserves to serve time, but not in prison. She needs to be in a mental institution. Being given the right medications and getting the therapy that she desperately needs. She's not a malicious woman, she is ill. If the biological parents truly love their child, they will see the immense pain that Khamiyah/Alexis is going through watching the only mother she has ever known behind bars with murderers and drug dealers, and make the sacrifice/compromise to ask the courts not to send her to a prison. Instead, ask the courts to get her the psychological help that she needs.

      Your point makes sense, but try to also imagine her biological parents' pain; the baby the real mother carried for 9 months and knew since she first felt her in her belly went missing the day of her birth. Someone took her child away, the child she was waiting for, the child she loved since the day she found out she was pregnant. Then she suffered for years, not knowing if her baby was alive, healthy and happy ... When she finally found her daughter it was painful to see her loving another woman. The woman that made the family suffer and worry for 18 years. And I'm sure she still suffers everytime her daughter preffers the other lady as her mom.
      It's just another point of view to explain why the parents maybe hate her too much to take her out of jale. But yes, the woman needs a therapist, because she is sick and needs to be helped.

      Sarah flükiger I agree with you. Just because I can empathize with the kidnapper, that doesn't change how I feel for the birth parents and the pain they went through. That is why I still believe that the kidnapper deserves to do time, just not in a prison. That won't help anything. I do agree with your point though.

      Princess fluffybottom, you are crazy. Raising her well would imply that Alexis Manigo really exist. This girl was lied to daily, her whole foundation was an illusion and a lie. She stole this child's ture childhood away. This child has suffered trauma that is deep inside and very problematic/harmful. This child is psychology broken and emotionally destroyed. Remember Alexis Manigo does not exist. This was a name given to her by her abductor. There is no such person. This child really needs to distance herself from Gloria Williams, get her mind together. Gloria brainwashed this child for over 18 years. I can hear it in her defense for her kidnapper. The kidnapper Gloria is using Kamiyah to help lessen her own sentence and save her own ass. Yes, Kamiyah is not able to see what has been done to her, but she will, one day. When that day comes, during Gloria's 18 year sentence, you bet your bottom dollar that there will be some form of change in emotion that she will have as her kidnapper for sure.

It is totally unfair but you cannot erase what happened in this tragedy. The girl will continue to love her kidnapper mother to some degree. They never got to hear her first words, see her first steps, take her to her first day of school, see her go to prom etc. Imagine having a baby in your stomach, GIVING BIRTH TO THE BABY, seeing your baby and then just having her be ripped away from you. You can feel that she loves her abductor, and I don't think she's a bad person - I think she suffered a trauma when she miscarried. I can't even imagine the pain and loss her real parents felt, but I also don't want Alexis to feel the same loss and pain with loosing yet another mother.
      It's a complicated situation. But locking her up behind bars won't help no one, they all need therapy and help to get through this yet the abductor needs to pay, in some sort of way, for the crime that she did.

    This girl has no emotional connection to her biological parents which is why it's easy for her to forgive her kidnapper. But the truth is that any person that kidnaps someone else's baby and ruins that family should get the strictest penalty... perhaps even the death penalty. That is the only way that these potential kidnappers can be prevented from comitting these very serious crimes that tear families apart. I have a very loving mother and if tomorrow I was given information that my mother had kidnapped me as a newborn baby... I too, would forgive her because the entire life I have lived with her we have had an amazing relationship. This young kidnapped girl will probably realize after the age of 25 or perhaps when she becomes a mother herself, that what her kidnapper did is incredibly wrong without a doubt, and there needs to be a very strict punishment for that!

She robbed someone of a life with their child. Her parents had to live everyday with that. Not knowing anything. Not knowing if she was alive or taken well care of. She's a criminal. No matter how much she loved you and how much she gave you, that's not your mother. That is a monster. I hope one day when the media attention has faded and she's able to get to know her parents, she'll see it a little more clearly.

    It hurted me so bad. I cried, cried .I became a behavior problem after that. However I did get to meet my biological parents; when i was in the six grade and. they still didn't want me or, accepted me .

Every cry, every smile, sounds of her laughter, face expressions, birthdays, holidays, first and many days of school, doctor appointments, caring for her when sick. Hearing mama for the first time, her little steps, hearing mommy look at me! Kissing her face telling her I love you. Bedtime stories, hugs and her favorite friend being doll or teddy bear. The memories and moments, the pictures and saying proud that I/we was there her mommy and daddy. Graduation tears of joy. A baby you love to bring in this world and hold was stolen. And to me I am thankful for that teen being alive and well but nope I have no sympathy for a woman who stole something someone that is precious to any loving parent. If God forbid it was my child I would scream at that woman with pain and ache in me THAT"S MY BABY, MINE! Stealing doesn't make it yours it still makes you a heartless thief. And sure the thief will have supporters but it's always the same thing until it happens to you and your family then it's wrong.

      Tammy Kay honestly it was probably a blessing in disguise. Kids are overrated.

    I can see what this young lady is saying BUT.... I also wanted to her what she thinks went through her real Moms head when she was TAKEN from her! This woman lived 18 years without knowing whatever happened to her baby! That's a lifetime full of torture if I've ever heard! Can you imagine??? My God!

    So sad. I feel for the mother who was tortured 18 years. This has got to be devastating. I hope they throw the book at her!!!

    I respect that she was given the chance to speak her mind. Now the public need to step back and let her determine who she wants to be.
    Justice has been served (albeit belatedly). Gloria Williams will serve 18 years in prison.

      Thats not the definition of Stockholm.
      This child has to see who she has called ‘Mom’ for her whole life in jail. Stockholm is where the person falls for the adductor(???)
