Thank you for all your time, I have some health issues but you always make me smile and feel like I can do quilting. I love how God has blessed you and now you share your talents.
This is one of my favorite MSQC tutorial videos from 2015. I can't be the only one that can't resist buying jelly rolls, so now I have a great video tutorial from the most fabulous Jenny to help me execute an adorable quilt I can give to charity! Thank You!
I am making this exact quilt right now for my 92 year old mother's bday. [a wee bit late - I had a granddaughter surprise us by coming into this world a wee bit early!!] Anyway, I was sitting at my machine contemplating the next step and thought, "Hey! I'll bet Jenny has a tutorial for this quilt!" Well, sure enough! Jenny saves the day again! She even brought along her bottle of encouragement! :) Thank you so much, Jenny, for ALL you and your family and employees do!!! Incidentally, I did purchase most of the material from MSQC!!
Made one for my Great granddaughter using pink flowers & white. Her Grandpa and parents loved it and they use it every day almost......washes great. Thanks Jenny...
Eureka! I was looking everywhere for this pattern. Saw a version with borders and cornerstone and now i can star making the blocks. Yall are the best!!!!!!!
I've been looking for great looking scrap quilts to make to use up my stash - or some of it at least - and I think this one is high on the list. Love it.
Seriously...I can't believe how easy this is!! I thought for sure it'd be a bit tedious to make - you're a genius, Jenny!! Way to surprise me once again!!
Another fabulous quilt! I think the hardest part is getting the flipping of the pieces going the right way...After that- easy! Thanks Jenny! Love your ring... :)
I love your videos, you make these complicated looking quilts so easy. I'm working on my first pieced quilt, and while its a simple pinwheel, a few weeks ago pinwheels scared me. but, watching your easy pinwheel video gave me confidence. I now sit and watch these tutorials and think to myself "Hey; that do sent look so hard, I can do that!". Thank you Jenny and MSQC for giving me confidence in quilting!
Jenny - I really enjoy your tutorials, fun to watch and you make the impossible manageable. Thank you so much - and for the MSQC quilt snips - just brilliant.
I have never made a quilt but have been thinking about learning. This looks so easy. Love the iron, I haven't seen one like that. Thanks for these videos.
I love this quilt patten. I'm in the middle of making it right now. It's so fast & easy. I can't wait to get it all finished. Thanks for all the fabulous tutorials. It has changed how I quilt & helped me see I CAN do it.
You are most welcome Jenny!!! Thank you to you and all of the workers at MSQC! Every package that I receive I love. Bless you all and Have a HAPPY and WONDERFUL THANKSGIVING. :-)
+AthenaSchroedinger That why precuts are so nice, the fabrics always work so well together even if you don't think they will before putting the quilt top together! :)
I am making children's quilts for the holidays and watched this MSQC video as my usual routine. The next day I started a quilt with this pattern. My gosh it is easy. Blocks practically square by themselves and look so crisp. The first twins I made, besides my sons, were amazing. It didn't take long to complete a 40 x 40 inch quilt. If it was any easier it would have made itself. Thank you for the great, and fun, inspiration.
Great video! When I first saw the quilt, I thought "oh, no", this one will be hard.... But..... I knew Jenny would find a way to make it easy, and she did! I can do this! Thanks, Jenny...
Wow! It looks like a difficult block, but so easy! Thanks for the inspiring quiltorial!! Since you are always sharing easier, shorter ways for making blocks, I have shortened quilting tutorial to quiltorial in honor of MSQC and Jenny!
I looked at this block years ago, but didn't make it because of the complexity. You have done an amazing job of simplifying it to make it non-intimidating. Thanks!
This is the first bed sized quilt I am making after doing two Jelly Roll race quilts. It really is great for a beginner because there are no points to match and it is just using two jelly rolls. I love it!
Another quilt to make! I have a easy square competed, ready to quilt (scared to try it). I also tried a log cabin, prairie flower and now the sparkle. HINT: I think the snowball corners should be cut 3" on prairie flower. Now I need to practice quilting! Wow what a great retirement hobby!!!
I love this quilt. I am waiting on some yardage to back my Pinwheels on Point so I can finish it, but I may have to start cutting strips for this quilt. It looks like so much fun. How am I going to get ready for the cruise when you keep giving us such fun projects? Love your tutorials so much.
+Allison Crase I'm guess it's "Best Press" which is like a spray starch for quilters. You can also use spray starch. And on the web there are plenty of recipes to make your own Best Press from cheap Vodka.
It's a spray called "Flatter" by the Soak company. They come in many scents and work wonderfully! I got mine cheap thru Craftsy, but I know Fat Quarter Shop carries them and I think MSQC is starting to carry them as well. :)
+Allison Crase Flatter is a wonderful product made by Soak. Here is a link to all the Soak products we carry! :) www.missouriquiltco.com/shop/browse/4347
As always a great job.As a somewhat New Quilter- I love how easy you make It.I hope you realize you are increasing our confidence, encouraging us to go a step further each time.Have you considered ever looking at suggested ways to Quilt the patterns you present?. Keep up the good work. I start my mornings off right with looking at your tutorials.
You are amazing. I first saw you when you were the only person who had a class on Craftsy (before it was called that) I just want to thank you so much for teaching me how to quilt. Because all by yourself you have. Thank you so much Patricia x
I just saw you at the quilt festival in Houston! I told my mom, "I watch all of her you tube videos! I didn't stop to say hi, I just gawked and walked by. :)
Jack and Jill look like they come from the Houndstooth family... distantly related! *Decided after watching all your vids that I am doing this in orange and red... all prints... for my husband and I on our bed.*
Another great tutorial Jenny. Love it and I love the fabric you used. Have a great weekend, and happy Halloween to you and all of the gang there at MSQC.
point--there are five parts to a quilt (today). top, batting, backing, binding, and quilting. the quilting is what you either do on a regular sewing machine or what is called a longarm quilting machine. a longarm may be either computerized to sew automatically or able to sew by either free motion or pantograph. in today's quilts the quilting is just as important as the top.
Quero lhe dizer muito obrigada ,acabei de fazer minha primeira colcha usando esse seu video ,estou muito feliz, vou para Philadelphia na semana que vem .Pretendo trazer mais destes rolinhos para fazer mais .
good tutorial, may make this one day, still have to make the jelly roll race quilt, jelly roll is still waiting for me to sew her together, cos I am still battling the suzanne mcneill 5 min block which gave me an absolute headache with measurements, I must be number dyslexic! lol
Love the vibrant colors , the projects looks really fun, and like the off set, Sisters off set each other , by balancing out with love . Just purchased my first brand new quilting /sewing/embroidery machine, it has some cute fun stitches, so far I love it , it does everything I wanted in a machine except long arm and i wouldn't know how to use it if i tried. By the way how can i get the sum of my square inches in a quilt can;t quite wrap my head around how to come up with that ? Thanks for your inspiration Jenny love your tutorials oh, quiltorials lol.Bless you all! Ella from Texas
I had ask someone about the price for quilting and I was told 2 cents a square inch. Sure, glad to help. You measure the size of your quilt; the width and length in inches. This gives you square inches. Then multiple by 0.02 (the cents per square inch.) When you use MSQC they calculate the price for you. I don't know their other options but I think they have a contact Email. If you have a quilt store near you they are a wealth of knowledge; quilters love to talk and help I have found. (I didn't find this with Joanne ' s fabrics.) Quilt guilds are everywhere practically. And, lastly watch lots of videos. You will see a number of simple variations on things from ironing to quilting so don't be suprised. Oh, many like MSQC have blogs. Good luck.
Love this quilt. It looks so complicated and yet your tutorial makes it so easy. Question?? For the materials-1 Jelly roll-Does this consist of 42 strips? Some jelly rolls are only 10-12 strips. Thank you for the clarification and the beautiful quilt.
+Tammy Schoelen from the tutorial it looks like 2 strips can make 4 blocks. Given the number of blocks per row/column you would need to get 42 strip jelly rolls.

I'm always amazed at what you show us how to use our 2-1/2" strips. Great tutuorial, Jenny!!!!
Thank you for all your time, I have some health issues but you always make me smile and feel like I can do quilting. I love how God has blessed you and now you share your talents.
How cute. When I first saw it I couldn't imagine how you did it. Thank you Jenny

If you mean the total square inches of something it is the height (or length) multiplied by width.
Yes, that was it thank you
I had ask someone about the price for quilting and I was told 2 cents a square inch. So if u can maybe walk me through that procedure and tell me what I need to do and what MSQC does or my options , so new to this quilting, help lol it may help if u have my email that way you can just send me the info ,Thanks in advance, ellad53@hotmail.com

Super
You are my favorite!
+Tammy Schoelen Most Jelly Rolls consist of 44 strips, Junior Jelly Rolls are often half the amount. I hope this helps! :)
Jenny makes all of the quilts look so easy!! If I'm not sewing I'm watching tutorials on the look out for more projects. I'm a beginner so I always think it will be too hard. If we run into problems is there help available?

I love this quilt! Do you have a pattern that I can purchase? I didn't find one on your website. Thanks so much.
+Annette Pacheco Unfortunately we don't have a written pattern for this yet. I'm so glad you like it though! :)
I had discussed with you about making an autism quilt. this looks like puzzle pieces in a way! I might have to try this with all solids and see. I'll let you know!
+Kristi Carr It sort of does, that would be great, Kristi! :)
I really like this idea, but it bothered me that the sides are off a bit, so I did a mock-up, and I think that if you cut a 5.25" rectangle from the sewn strips instead of a 4.5" square and then center the 45 degree cut in the middle (that is 3/8" in from each end) you should end up with triangles (missing the point that would have been lost in the seam allowance) with sides that match up. I haven't had time to sew it yet to make sure it works, but it worked with paper strips.
Thanks for the great information Joshua!
In the mean time, I have stitched it, and it does indeed work. It's a bit tricky to center the diagonal cut, but where there's a will there's a way!
Excellent advice, Joshua. I, especially, appreciate your extra info to this pattern!,
